Just found this thread and did a lot of reading. Planning our first trip January 14th- 24th. First 6 days will be at Wilderness Lodge and last 4 will be cruising the Bahamas on the Disney Magic. Have researched this trip to death, but after we booked everything, I realized we were going over MLK weekend (had switched our dates to miss the marathon). We were kind of locked in based on the cruise dates.

Now I am kind of panicking a little bit about the crowds. Does anyone have experience with MLK weekend? One site said crowd levels are a 8 that weekend and others said the week was a 4 overall. It is too late to change my plans I think and I have already made A ton of ADRs. Can anyone help ease my mind, or am I kind of screwed?

I'm not worried at all. And we are regulars during the official "slow week after Thanksgiving" So although our trip needs to be planned around holidays for school, our next determining factor is crowd level. Same thing, busy weekend, clears out for the week.

I Pm'd Dani (Danimaroo on the boards) after starting her January 2013 TR here. She has gone the past few years at the same time and she said that most like the crowds were a result of MLK AND the New Fantasyland opening and that makes total sense to me!

Had my travel agent make my ADRs this morning . I got everything I wanted except Yachtsman Steakhouse. It showed no available tables during our stay. I called myself this morning and the CM said to keep checking back. Hopefully I can get it. Is there another steakhouse anyone would recommend in the Epcot/HS area that's on the dining plan?

Isn't the Yachtsman not taking reservations during that time frame due to a (maybe assumed) renovation?

I believe that you'll have to call for that. I need to book the pirates and pals cruise and that requires a call so I'm assuming all of the non-dining experiences will be the same.

We also had hoped for a table at the Yachtsman (post half-marathon celebration meal!) but instead I've made a reservation at Flying Fish Cafe

Had anyone been able to make a reservation at the Plaza? I'm not seeing any availability for that restaurant either!

I heard a rumor that the plaza may be under construction too. Looks like they even took the page down off the site as of the other day

Joining in!! We're staying at BLT jan 20-28. Excited to make my ADRs very soon!!

This is our first winter trip to the world, and I am very excited to see how it differs from spring and summer!! Looking forward to sharing the pretrip anticipation with everyone!! (that's a lot of exclamation points... Guess I'm excited!)

I've seen other posts on here that they just went through a rehab not too long ago, and there have been issues in the past at the 180 day mark. The CM I talked to this morning said to keep trying, so I'll call back every morning until I get a definitive answer.

Could have slept another hour... so frustrated and cranky!! I can see the ADRs I want, but I can't book them! Tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome; old and new sites.

I've vented and ranted on here before about the tech situation with Disney, but come on!! Just work! Someone in tech DO YOUR JOB!

That's a bummer, hate those mornings. Sorry it got you stuck, that part worked easily on Monday. I bet YOU were ready to slap Donald on the head. How did you make out calling?

The promo for January will be Play/Stay/Dine. A repeat of the Jan 2013 offer. There will not be Free dining in January 2014

It should turn into a General Public offer bookable at the start of October. This has already been released via pin. Pin deadline to book was the 27th I think.

Next month it should turn into a Disney Visa offer then it will go to the GP offer.
