The *OFFICIAL* Grey's Anatomy Fan Thread!

I thought these past 2 episodes were incredibly sad... but it might just be because I hadn't seen the last one, so I watched it online right before the new one last night. I think it made me more attached to the characters or something.

I really loved Seth Green, I wish he would have been around longer.

I really, really wanted George to just go off on Bailey's husband... he's a doctor, too, and knows how important it is for her to be there. I thought he should have stuck up for her a little more, instead of just reporting back and forth. Also, why is this all of a sudden an issue in Bailey's marriage? It was never really mentioned before, but I always got the impression that her husband was pretty supportive. Now it seems like they're just replaying the Chief's storyline.:confused3

I have to say I wasn't as disappointed about McDreamy moving on as I thought I would be. Definitely nice to see him with someone more mature.

So THAT'S his name! I knew that I knew who he was but I couldn't put my finger on it. Yeah, maybe they could bring his twin brother into the hospital to meet Lexi.

I agree with everything else you said about Bailey's husband retelling the chief's story. YAWN!

Sorry, Mer... too little, too late...

This was a good episode, but it was it was sad. I loved Seth Green's character, but I was also concerned about it turning into another Denny thing. I kind of like McD with the nurse and I think that could be a good relationship for him. But I think he has too many deep seeded feelings for Mer and that will end up screwing things up with that--if a relationship even develops. I like that Mer has come around, but I'm sure it will be too late.

OK, Bailey's husband. JERK! I mean come on, she's a freaking surgeon. What did he expect? And I just could never imagine saying "(sigh), yeah I know she's saving another life. She's always saving a life, but what about our marriage." What a pansy. Now, my DH doesn't work as much as she does, but I know what he does is important. Sometimes he's going to miss things because of work. I don't begrudge him his career so that I can have him home with me all the time.

I was really afraid that the nazi guy was going to die and cause problems for her. And I wasn't sure about her comments with the tattoo. I couldn't tell if she really had to do that to his tattoo or not. Was it a *wink wink* type of thing or was she saying that outloud so everyone could be a witness as to why it needed to be done?

And that woman with the kids who was snarky to Izzy pissed me off. I understand she was scared and upset. And I can maybe understand the initial comments. But to be that way after her husband was ok and out of surgery was unnecessary. I wish they had had her apologize. I mean come on, Izzy got pulled into another surgery what does the lady expect her to do?

And I liked Erica inviting Sloan and Callie out for drinks. I really like her addition to the cast and I'm not missing Burke anymore. I even like Christina more now that Burke is gone. And I like Sloan now. I didn't like him last season. So they're doing a good job with all the different casting. I really thought I was going to miss Burke and Addison, but nope!

I think Meredith and McDreamy just either need to be together or not. I'm getting tired of them just missing each other. I think they would be great together, but you can only drag the cliffhanger on for so long before it's old. It would be great for them to get together.

While I love my DH and have absolutely no intentions of leaving him, I do understand Tucker just a bit. My DH manages a grocery store, which doesn't compare to a surgeon, but if you're hungry he's pretty darn important. There are times when he's supposed to be home and something comes up at the store, and it gets frustrating. If any of you walked into his store right now and wanted something and he was supposed to meet me for lunch, he'd help you, and I'd wait. But, Tucker should realize it comes with the territory and be proud of his wife for what she has accomplished in her life.

As far as George and Izzy, it's just too bad that he didn't realize the timing was off when he slept with Izzy while he was married :(

i was under the impression the skin was NOT jagged but she messed up teh tatto anywya, and getting georges "ok" was just kinda a funny thing, like he agreed ya know?

Ok, I just had to say this, the training required for social work is NOT 2 years. It is 4 in undergrad, 2 in grad school and continued educational training past that. A minimum of 6 years. Sure it isn't as much as med school, very little is, but come on! That comment pissed me off! No hospital would dream of hiring a social worker with less then a masters degree and 2 years post experience (CSW.)

Sorry, just my vent that I had to get off my chest (after being a hospital social worker for 6 years, and no most doctors don't look down on us.)

Personally, I was shocked at what George told the guy, that he'd have died on the table if George were the surgeon & the world would be a better place without him, GO GEORGE! I would expect that from Alex, not George!

I thought he said that he'd have died if Bailey was not the surgeon and then added that the world would be a better place without him. Hmm, gonna have to go and rewatch that part.

I think Chris1Gill is right.

Not verbatim, but George said something to the effect of "If i'd been your surgeon you'd be dead and I think the world would be a better place without you."

..why was the guy so upset over the tattoo anyway? I thought last episode he used the excuse that he was "young" or was he just feeding that to Bailey?!

I think that WAS verbatim! I found it shocking that George would step forward like that to say what he thought... he's not known for doing that!

The guy was upset because that WAS his belief system, whether he wanted to tell Bailey or not..... he told George "we all have our own belief systems", so he was definitely current on his belief system...

When Hahn received the call to go from the OR with the man with four children to the ambulance bay where the medic was... Izzy was following Hahn & wanted to update the family of the man with four children, Hahn made the comment if she wanted to be a social worker that was only two years of training, not 12 (or something to that effect).... I always knew it was 4 to get your B.A. & then you needed a Masters

I was pretty proud of George last night for his comments to the guy:thumbsup2 . George is usually pretty quiet and doesnt speak up. The guy was just feeding Bailey a line of crap.

I felt kinda bad for him being the relay person between Bailey and her husband. It kinda sucked to be him last night.

The whole tattoo thing the guy should just be happy hes a live with a jagged tattoo ;)

OK, watched it again. The first part of his speech, he is telling nazi boy that Bailey saved his life at a high personal cost. Then he tells him that if he was the only surgeon in the room, nazi would probably be dead.

When you first posted, I thought you meant it as a threat G was making to nazi. But, in fact, the context was that he is no where near the quality surgeon that Bailey is.

Hahn's comments were because she was frustrated and venting. If not picking on a social worker, she could have been picking on a podiatrist. There are varying degrees of medicine insofar as doctors are concerned. I've heard it first hand in my best friend's family. Her oldest brother is a surgeon (impressive, right?), well, second brother is a colorectal surgeon (better in his opinion than the first). The next in line is an OB/GYN. Her brothers don't think she is qualified to do c-sections because she is not trained as a surgeon except for this one type of surgery. Next in line is "only" a GP and my best friend is a pediatrician. While they say things in jest to one another, the hierarchy mentality does exist.... and you don't want to be in the room when they start talking about osteopaths or podiatrists or chiropractors. :rotfl:

Izzy wanted to update the family on how the father was doing and the surgeons (new chick can't remember name) laid into her if she was a social worker or doctor. She could save herself a lot of time because it only took 2 years education to be social worker, not 12 like to be a doctor. That one had me swearing at the T.V. Granted, it is only a 2 year graduate degree, but you have to have a BA to start that. I don't think Med school isn't 12 years post grad school l or at least you are not in class that whole time. :rolleyes1

Then again my DH managed to be his PhD in less then 5 years (and BA in 4 years so 9 total.) It took my brother 15 years (or longer) to finish his PhD.

RUDisney, my dentist is a women, her father is the head of the biggest hospital around here. When ever she does work she is proud of she says "not bad for a girl" making fun of what her father and brothers would say about her. She has done a lot of work on my teeth (and all good.)

See, that's funny. My BF's father was a dentist and his oldest son shared his name. When the first DS graduated and someone would call the house to ask for Dr. X, the father would ask, "would you like to speak to the real doctor or the dentist?" :)

As you guys know my DH is the Phd, (I just stole his screen name). Only his students call him doctor (unless I am feeling snarky.)

One day a few years ago someone called the house and asked for doctor (our last name.) At this time I was working at the hospital (out patient) and I had this one patient that kept calling me doctor no mater how many times I explained I was a social worker. She was the type that would of tried to hunt me down, so when someone asked for Dr at my house I said there was no one here by that name. The student then asked for my DH whole name and I was like "oh right, he is a doctor, hold on I will get him."

His students had fun joking with him about that. :rolleyes1

Did anyone happen to notice that Bailey kept making comments about when Tucker (aka: her husband) might need a qualified surgeon to save him... I'm wondering if Tucker's going to have some medical problem again (remember that he was having brain surgery when the baby was being born...) Perhaps something's going to happen and that will give him extra perspective on the Bailey always being at work situation... This is just my 2 cents, but I couldn't help to add it!

I also loved that Alex called Rebecca out on why she came back again... Plus he told her the TRUTH about *doing* Lexie... Hmmmmmm, maybe Alex is changing! (I also loved that he refused to slip into calling her Ava!)

Very bloody episode though with Seth Green's character - whoa! Hopefully not too many more will be that bloody!
