I also thought this episode was really boring. And the ghosts/afterlife thing was cheesy and dumb.

I did like the final scene with Izzy and Denny, but I was so disappointed in the rest of the episode. I hope this isn't an indication that GA is going downhill.

I admit some of the show was rather predictable. But it had moments in it that had my DH and I laughing.

I must have missed something. How did Cristina's father die?

I'm in the minority, I thought the show was well written and I think I went through a box of kleenex.... I'm now officially in love with Dr. McDreamy :goodvibes

Cristina watched her father bleed out during a car accident when she was 9 years old.... I thought it was rather poetic that it was Cristina that ordered the final round of drugs/work that essentially brought Meredith back... losing one life when she was 9, and bringing one back as an adult...

I think it was Denny who told Meredith that Christina and her father had been in a horrific car accident when Christina was 9 yrs old and that her father bled out waiting for the ambulance. So sad and explains a lot about Christina.

I missed Episode 2 last week, so I watched it last night before #3. #2 was so action packed, that I agree, #3 was sort of a let down. But I was really laughing when Meredith was talking to bomb squad guy and Denny. I cried when the little girl's mother found her at the hospital. I was glad to get some understanding about Christina, and wondered if Burke knew that about her.

Peronsally my favorite part was when her dog Doc jumped up on the table with her. :)

And I actually thought the Izzy/Denny scene was the most cheesy, but that may be because I'm finding Izzy particularly annoying lately - she's so awful to George and Callie.

I thought it was a great episode too and cried also. But I love "afterlife" storylines and I thought Denny and the bomb squad guy were very funny.

I also loved when Doc (the dog) jumped up on the bed! That was so cute!!

Oh, they were VERY funny...

I also thought that it was very interesting that all the characters we've seen pass on came back to almost chastise her on her giving up on life.... Trying to get the truth out of her....

Also thought it was appropriate that Derek essentially yelled at Ellis about her calling her daughter Average (it was average right?) And then when Ellis saw Meredith, Ellis told her she was anything but average and to run back, to fight back.... Essentially Derek saved her again...

I LOVED seeing Doc the dog!

I agree with both of these. The very last moment with Izzy/Denny did nothing for me. Then again I didn't like them together at all int eh first place ;)

Thank you for updating me on Cristina. I had a couple moments when I was getting ready for the next day and missed a minute or two.

I did like a lot of the humor in last nights show, but the over all ending was rather predictable to me.

I did like how George stood up for Callie though. I do think Izzy is way out of line now (oh wait... again!)

Minority opinion here. I loved last nights show. Cried like a baby. I also thought the scene with Doc (her dog) was the best. :goodvibes

The Calley & George drama took away from the story line.
My .02 :flower:

Chris1gill... I think Ellis had called Meredit "ordinary" (instead of average)... but the same meaning in this case.

I too thought Episode 2 was more dramatic and had more going on - but I did like Meredith's conversations with the bomb guy - I thought what he said about "doing what he had been meant to do" before he died - which was to save Meredith and he wasn't "stuck" like "the rest"....

I had to say that I REALLY liked Denny and it was nice to see him back... and I guess I'm sappy - I LOVED the last scene!

Maybe I am just in a bad mood but I really expected so much more from this show and it kind of seemed way too predictable.
I didn't like it either, but I have to say I expected it to be bad. I mean, really, we all knew that Meredith wasn't going to die. So that whole story line was pointless. Especially since she was dead for something like 2 hours and "miraculously" comes back with no sort of brain damage or anything. Whatever.
I hope this isn't an indication that GA is going downhill.
I'm worried about this too.

And again with Izzy and Callie. How she and Mer and Christina and George are "family". It's not like they've been together since birth. Seriously, what's the timeline on this show? They all met at the beginning of their internship which I'm guessing was only about a year ago. Remember Addison's baby would have been due not too long ago which would put her arrival on the show just after the abortion.

Maybe Izzy is really in love with George. :rotfl:

Ya know I had forgotten about the scene with the dog. I was thinking of that, and when she told Denny, "don't tell anyone" about her not trying hard enough not to drown. Both scenes were heartbreakingly sweet. I'm always so surprised when I read people don't like Ellen Pompeo - I think she is such a good actress, as good as Sandra Oh who is so critically acclaimed.

Anyway, I think I am going to watch it again tonight. I usually get more out of GA when I watch it a 2nd time.

Well remember these interns have been spending every waking AND sleeping moment together. I know I feel like the people at my work are family (usually the family you love to hate! :p ) so I can imagine how doctors working round the clock would become extraordinarily close. That part I have no problem believing, but I do have a hard time grasping their dislike for Callie. Or why. When George and Callie first hooked up, did they dislike her then? I thought she got in with the crowd after Denny died and Izzy was on the floor. Now all the sudden they don't like her again, and that has never been clear to me why. The whole thing with Izzy and her telling George "its us" was weird.

I really liked last night's episode minus Izzy and Denny (just never got into his character). I thought the way they gave insight into the characters, particularly Christina was great. The only time I choked up was the scene with Meredith and her mom. She waited all her life to hear those words and that alone was what made her live.

That scene made me sob like a baby. Cut too close to home.

I have mixed feelings about the episode. I enjoyed it, but did think it was way too unrealistic for me to believe.

I loved the scene with Derek telling Ellis how it was her fault. I totally wasn't expecting that.

Loved seeing so much of Denny. And even though the ending scene was a bit cheesy, I loved it :) But then again, I love cheese ;)

I'm not sure anymore why Izzy is so upset about the Callie thing. But I thought Callie was a total B last night when she said to Izzy that her friends keep falling like flies. That was low.

I loved Cristina last night. And I normally don't like Burke, but I loved his speech to Cristina in the bar.

I also thought it was very weird.

Then I remembered when Izzie insisted they have Thanksgiving dinner together, and all the baking she does when upset ... I think Izzie's own family life was not so great so she's really latched on to the others.

OTOH Cristina lost her dad at age 9.
Meredith barely knew her dad and her mom was cruel.
George had a good family - but some not-so-nice big brothers. ;)

Izzie's trying to mother them all. Getoverit Izzie! :lmao:

I just started watching this season and last night they almost lost me for good. I thought the whole after death stuff was sooo lame and dragged on forever. I was almost hoping she'd go ahead and die!!! Luckily I have watched some of the better episodes so I'll stick with it a little longer.
