The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

We've done this several times over the years (first time was 1985!) and has been a hit every time! It may not always arrive when you expect - might be later in the evening, but usually it has been in our room when we return from a park in the afternoon. Have also surprised friends and they always loved it too.

Thanks Christine! We are spending the day at Epoct, with dinner at Le Cellier, so hopefully they will be there by the time we get back from the park, which would be after 9.

for everyone that is sending in their room requests and doing online checkin..... I was told explicitly by a CM when i called for some reason or another NOT to do online check-in if you have any requests. Because then your room is already assigned and if you don't like it when you get there, it's a PITA to change it?

Really? We did it last trip and did not have an issue. I dont know if its because we have a ressie for a king size bed and those are a limited number of rooms..

I would just really like to be in one of the refurbed rooms...

Have you stayed at POFQ? I love it! We are there in 10 days!! Once DH knew about the trip, I asked if he wanted to try another resort and he quickly vetoed that.

Bldg. 4 was just refurbished. I put in my request for that bldg, as bldg 5 just started on the refurb.

IDK.... that's what she told me. I'll ask on the Resort board and see what the experts say.

Disney just gave me a panic attack- I called to reconfirm all of our dinning ressies and she could only find one (ugg i have six). No need to panic some how or another they got put under DH name so we still have them all and if not I was not going to get stressed we would still be in Disney and can always find a place to eat. Oh who am I fooling I would have been in tears.

Their ressie system is so screwed up. Sometimes mine show up online, sometimes they don't. My CRT ADR no longer comes up online ever but I've called a couple times to confirm and they still have it. I will probably call a couple more times before I go, lol.

this is our 1st trip, so we have not stayed anywhere!!!

Its a stunning resort, imho. Its nice and small, so everything is pretty close. As its a sister resort with POR, there is a nice trail to walk over to that resort. My mom and I stayed at AKL in 2007, for a very short trip (2 nights), and whereas it was really nice to step out on the balcony and see the giraffe(it was pretty surreal), I much prefer POFQ.

So I am full on OCD mode since we leave in just 9 days. Double checked all the reservations, they all pulled up. Re-printed my intinerary for our flights, just verifying all the info. Tonight I will compare the flights with our ME book.

I am sure I will do all this about 5-6 more times before we leave. It drive my DH mad, but I think I would have a major panic attack if I didnt do it.

today must be my panic and discovery day. Thought I was done planning each day, so I was going to start putting the folder together and guess what I have only planned the first two or our six days. Guess house cleaning and cooking are going to have to take a back seat and I get to do some more planning.

I know! Wasn't happy to see all that rain either!

I'm hoping it's off and on rain .. not constant, soaking rain.

Went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of ponchos. Maybe that will hold back the rain, because if I didn't buy them, it would be sure to pour.

But...a week at Disney, even in the rain, beats a week at work!

After the snowstorm that we just lived thru....ANY weather at Disneyworld has GOT to be better than home. I looked at the forecast for Orlando....seems like maybe a little rainy, but moderate temps...is the rain what's upsetting you? it's going to be FRIGID here...so 64 & a little rain is still good in my book.

Ugh! I wish it would make up it's mind. I keep checking the weather and it keeps changing...and it's said that it would be clear and sunny on our end and now it says..."SNOW!"

Yes I do!!! Our forecast (here now) was awful about a week out! It changed constantly :/ and even changed daily as the day went on it changed and now that we are here it isn't bad at all. Cloudy, but no rain, warm but not too hot and slightly chilly at night. Perfect park weather in my opinion!

Can't sleep. We leave tomorrow and arrive at Disney Sun. I can't stop worrying about everything. Did I pack everything? Did I pack the right clothes for the weather?

I have still managed to keep everything a secret from the kids. I only have to make it one more morning. This has been soooo hard! I can't wait to see their faces when they find out!

Dumb question alert!

Where do you put the ME luggage tags on your suitcase? Do you put them on the top handle or the side handle? When I say top handle, I mean the handle that would be at the top (duh!) when your suitcase is upright.

The way I look at it: The weather forecast changes from day to day, just be prepared for warm, or cool and rainy, it is what it is, you can't change it, at this point 60's and raining is a whole lot better than blizzards and arctic temps.
