Ok, so we all wanted one, so let's start one!!

We need to decide on our first book. Any suggestions? :coffee: (closest smilie to reading!! lol)

Okay would this be for Feb or March? Maybe we should try to theme the book around the month. A book about love (any kind for Feb) or an Irish/Roman (ides of March) for March etc. That way any kind of book can be used!

April Baseball...

March would be good. Since we are already halfway through February.

i'm not in a book club, and if I have time, may try to join the DIS one, but, I have a great book to suggest! I just finished reading it, and its actually about 5 neighbors/friends in a book club!
Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons
It is such a good book!

I don't really have any idea either but I would love to join, I've never been in a book club but read all the time probably 2 books a week lol. I like the idea of it having something to do with the month...I'll look around and see what I can find.

I too would be interested in joining. I am constantly reading. I also look at what other Diser`s suggest. I have read many that were suggested and liked them.

Angela's Ashes is a coming of age in Ireland book. Might be good for March.

There are so many great books I haven't read. I have always wanted to read Angelas Ashes.

And there are plent of used copies on Amazon for really cheap (or I suppose I could go to the library...)

okay i'm in, just let me know the book! i love to read and constantly have my nose in a book! even at the gym while on the treadmill! how exciting!

Bump!!

Any more suggestions for books? :goodvibes

I'm subscribing since I'd love to be in a real book club. Our neighborhood has one but it's really a "bookless" club because we hardly ever read, it's mostly just neighborhood chat and a chance to get together. In fact, we meet tonight!

Angela's Ashes is good and Maeve Binchy is another Irish writer with lots of great books.

One more suggestion -There was a thread recently about "The Kite Runner," which reminded me that one of my friends recommended it. I can't recall what it's about, but I was thinking of reading that next.

Someone at work today recommended the Sweet Potato Queens book of Love.

I know this has already gone to vote...but I love the theme idea!!!

Kite Runner is a good book, so is The Secret Life of Bees.....

I would love to read another Maeve Binchy sometime!!

I've always wanted to be in a book club! Maybe if I'm reading a book with ya'll my DH won't roll his eyes so much when I mention "conversations" I've had with folks on the DIS! :rolleyes2

that is a great book, it's hilarious!

I'm in, if you'll have me, lord knows I have tons of recommendations too....

I want to join. Can we please only pick books that are out in soft back ? Hardback's are too expensive.
