And with their scorecard I'm sure this will be another fiasco! :happytv:

I am really surprised this train wreck is still running but HEY, I guess I'll be back popcorn::

This time it's an Italian Prince ... and he is not my idea of what an Italian prince should look but I expected swarthy and dark!!

Well Robin, I will be the loser sitting right next to you watching it even though I swore up and down I would never watch it again after the Jen fiasco. How DARE she pick no one??? ;)

I swore I wasn't going to watch after the Jen fiasco too .....but I did- foolishly. That couple didn't even stay together long enough for after the final rose. I'm done.

I certainly WON'T be watching. This show needs to finally die. It started out cute the first few seasons but now the guys are just cheesier and the women are totally lacking in dignity & self respect. Women shouldn't be so desperate fighting over one man who isn't worth it. :sad2: And the portraying of that and the watching of it is demeaning to all women & shouldn't be supported.

A wize woman once told me: Do not make decisions based on scarcity & lack. If 25 women fighting over one man they don't know isn't coming from a scarcity & lack mentality, then I don't know what is. Even Ugly Betty wouldn't be fighting over these guys. :p

I just don't think I can watch it this time. My husband thinks the show is disgusting. It really is like a train wreck - you don't want to look, but you can't help yourself. I'm going to try to stay away.

And for your viewing pleasure, I present to you....a preview of one of the bachelorettes for this season:

(believe it or not, there is a little Disney involved here....although she's very confused about her characters!!!)

....and I thought no one could be as bad as the Oncologist last season who "lost it" when she wasn't selected as one of the finalists!!! :happytv:

I'm skipping this year too because I heard that...(highlight to read possible spoiler)

The Bachelor has already been spotted, getting cozy with some socialite in NYC who wasn't even on the show.

I skipped the last installment, but will check this one out as it is in one of my most favorite cities. After living in Italy for 9+ years I can't not watch it!!

Okay, I watched.... :p

The guy is kind of doofy looking in my opinion, but seems very sweet. The women are typical again, the nut, the obsessed, the desperate and the rest.

I cannot believe he chose the socialite to continue.. I think she's the producer's choice. Did you see the CONTRIVED STAGED intro to her at her parents' home. The Mom came running in a fancy dress all ready for the camera!! :confused3 I'm sure it was ALL A SURPRISE!! :rolleyes1

Yes, if you just watch this like you'd watch a sitcom or a soap opera, it's cool. Taking it seriously, well, that just breeds disgust... :lmao:

Is it me, or are the women getting more desperate and the bachelor getting more stupid? I watched last night, but think I'll skip the rest.

Anyone watch HSN and the Perlier line they sell on it? Is the BAchelor the son of the Perlier lady (who is a princess)? He looks similar to her other son (also on HSN). I *think* it's the same last name too.

Not sure, I do know he is one of the heirs to the Princess Marcella Borghese cosmetics fortune. Is Perlier a division of that?

I think he picked the Socialite because they needed someone to provide conflict in the house. I am sure the producers make him choose a couple of girls just for that.

I didn't think he was that bad, he seemed pretty well spoken if nothing else. He did pick the 2 girls that I did like though, one was the interior designer from CA that was wearing the black blouse and white skirt, and the other one was the blonde with the updo named Sadie I think. The one that he gave the first rose to wasn't that bad either. Then again, our satellite kept going out because of the storm and I kept missing pieces of the show. :confused3

My favorite quote of the evening was "I even flew coach for you, I've never done that before" (said by Erika the socialite) Is "Socialite" even an occupation?

I was thinking the same thing about the mom. Of course I always wear rhinestone studded dresses while lounging around the house. And a housekeeper to help pack? THe girls voice sounds like she's been smoking pot all the time too.

I thought the girl in the white was trying way too hard. I would think that they would not have accepted the diamond earrings.

I love the Bachelor. It's one of the few things I watch. The first few seasons, I bought into the romance and hope for true love. Now, I just think it is hilarious. Those girls are too funny. I can't relate to them at all and the things they say and do are so ridiculous. I love watching to get a good laugh. But, I agree that they do make all of us women look bad.

The socialite just killed me! From the first intro with her mom running into the room looking slightly trampy to the flying coach comment, I just think she is the funniest one they've had yet. The link the above poster sent was so funny too. Yeah, lucky Belle, from a privileged background and wanting to live on the land. I think someone needs to watch their movies again! She reminds me of Paris Hilton. Yuck!

Another one watching the train wreck here. DH watched with me and as each girl got out of the car said "keep" or "cut" and why. His selections were almost identical to who the Bachelor picked. It's fascinating to hear the interpretation of this show from a male perspective.
