not to thread-jack...but personally, WHY are these types of show still in production? WHO CARES?

I just think the premise is so stupid...they all end up breaking up anyway (or having ABC pay millions for a pepto-bismol wedding to televise)

I love the Bachelor and Bachelorette series! I'm one of those who definately cares and is definately watching. So sue me. I'm fascinated with love relationships, why certain people are attracted to each other, etc. Plus I just like trashy TV every now and again.

Anyway, I am sorry to hear that Jen is the selection. I liked her, thought she seemed very sweet and normal, but I'm ready for someone new. I've already seen enough of her. I also don't like when they pick someone "famous" or "semi famous" like last season's football star. I want just a regular girl or guy as the selected Bachelor or Bachelorette.

oh - PLEASE don't get me wrong...I'm a reality TV junkie (LOVE Big Brother and you basically can't get any worse then that!)

Hope you didn't think I was bashing you...but the Bachelor/rette series were just something I could NEVER get into...

See, Stinkerbelle, I am just the opposite, I can't stand Big Brother. Watched it one time and wanted to get inside the TV and slap this one particularly whiny guy. There is something for everyone, I guess.

And no, I didn't think you were bashing my choices. Even if you were I wouldn't care. I'm not that loyal to any one TV series to be upset if someone else thinks its stupid.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Jen. But...she won! Is that the new premise of the show...keep going until one sticks? I just see this as a lame choice when there are plenty of *losers* from previous shows, and probably tons of new women who would sign up for this thing.

Yeah, I don't think I will watch that season. :\

I liked Jen too, she's originally from Cleveland! I just can't see her doing this dumb show again! I'm glad it wasn't that psycho Trish from last season, they would have had to move the show to HBO for her. LOL!!!

I like the Bachelor/ Bachelorette but I'm sad to see it's Jen because I was hoping her and Andrew would get back together. They seemed the most normal of all the people on the shows and I was really hoping they would work it out. I guess there's no chance of that now.

I don't like this choice AT ALL... I mean she's been thru TWO in the past two years, I guess she'll continue the Bachelor endings....

BTW, I'm with you, cuz, this is my perfect vice and you know what, I don't apologize for it. To each his own.

I too was hoping she would get back with Andrew. As for the whole Bill thing, I heard that was all just friend type stuff and never went anywhere.

I will watch this with DH like we have watched the otheres. I hope she does find happiness, and makes it 3 for 3 for the ladies while its 0 for 5 (6?) for the men.

Now, honestly....what guy would want her??? She supposedly had found the love of her life...was getting married....there could never be another....the whole 9 yards. Now, she is out on the prowl through a tv show's worth of bachelors. Guess they too are only doing the show for one thing....their 15 minutes. Maybe they can parlay that into 30 like she has.

I know it is still T.V. and a lot of what they do is for ratings, like Meredith leading that guy on (Matt??) and making him think she was going to pick him. But....I still love to watch. After a long hard day, I really want to just veg in front of the t.v. for a little while and watch something fun, not heavy.
