The next attraction to go: MGM Sounds dangerous

I think Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous (at MGM) should be the next attraction to go. We saw it during our last trip and it was horrible. I think that I had a panic attack during the 5 minutes of total darkness. What a waste of time! What do you think?

I love "Sounds Dangerous"! And so does the rest of my family. It's really amazing how much they accomplish though the headsets, although last time we went, my headset was broken, but it wasn't crowded and I just changed seats and notified the CM at the end. I think this attraction is clever, creative, different from the norm (lots of 3D shows all over, but this is the sole "sound only" one I know of at Disney World or Universal Studios Orlando -- someone let me know if there are others), and it's also very well written. I agree that Stitch should close -- going back to Alien Encounter would be better than the Stitch attraction is now.

I've never experienced either ride. Maybe they came after my last trip which was january of 99.
That being said I love Drew Carey.. too bad his ride doesn't sound so fun!
I can think of quite a few rides that need refurbishing and updating from when i was there.. Can't wait to see the new Pirates in january! :)

I like Drew Carey too, but my family thought the show was really bad. I agree that Stitch one needs to go too.

Actually, the next attraction to go at Disney Studios is "WWTBAM Play It!" It will be replaced with a interactive type of ride - think Buzz Lightyear, it will be very similar and I hear will also take the Toy Story theme.

However, I did hear that because of someones contract expiring that this attraction, "Sounds Dangerous," will be closing soon. Rumors have been going around about a possible "Incredibles," attraction.

So, I guess - anything is possible!

How about getting rid of the Tomorrowland Indy Raceway?

I've heard there are plans to refurbish it with a "Cars" theme, but why not just scratch it altogether?

I had this thought today as I was looking at a park map of MK, and I realized what a space hog the Raceway is. And I remember riding it on an earlier trip to WDW, and it just wasn't that much fun. It certainly wasn't worth the long wait in line. And while the Raceway may be one of the park's "classic" attractions, it just doesn't seem to be one that people walk away talking about. And it can't be the most environmentally-friendly ride in the world either.

So there's my vote. Get rid of Indy Speedway. Use the space for another Tomorrowland attraction, or enlarge Toontown.

I agree, I believe it needs to go. However, it is a classic and I doubt Disney will even consider scratching it.

Furthermore, I think Tomorrowland is big enough - that is just my opinion. So, if they ever decided to get rid of Indy Speedway (one could only hope) my vote would be to enlarge Toontown with extra attractions or shows. :goodvibes

I agree. I think Tomorrowland Indy Raceway should also go. The smell of gasoline is horrible too. It makes me dizzy every time. It reminds me of rides in our local county fare :guilty:

To be honest, I try to avoid it at all costs. I do not ride it and make every attempt to not even pass it. If I have to go to Cosmic Rays or Toontown, I will go another route - even if it is longer. I would rather take the time to walk around and see other "Magical" attractions than to walk past this "UnMagical" attraction.

i think sounds dangerous is by far the worst thing at wdw. would love to see something new there.

Ditto. Get rid of them both! :thumbsup2

Totally agree that "Sounds Dangerous" is by far the worst Disney attraction. I would love to see them replace it with something else.

based on other posts that I have read here on the Dis, you will likely get alot of support for the eradication of SD. Most people seen to think it is a waste of space.

The Indy Speedway doesn't bother me because it is a classic attraction but I will agree that it could certainly use a serious overhaul. Kids love driving cars so I think it is approprite and continues to have a place at WDW. However, it is pretty plain and boring by todays standards. They COULD do some really neat stuff with the attraction..........like have a tunnel with neat light designs, add some optical illusion effects, etc. I hope they do decide to do something to MASSIVELY update this ride.

Well if they nuke Sounds Dangerous, I wish they would put the same Monsters Inc. ride they have at California Adventure. What a great ride, the door scene alone is worth the price of admission.

Call me weird (trust me, I've been called worse :) ), but I totally loved this one! I don't know why. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I'd much rather see Stitch go opposed to this. I still get the dry heaves when I think about that WARM BURP!
