Hi there!

We were there the same days you guys were...and I almost think I saw you guys. Did you have shirts that said Honeymoon trip or something like that? I don't know... I am not some crazy stalker...I just remember seeing that and thinking that I WANT to come to DISNEY for MY honeymoon if I can ever find that perfect guy for me!

We stayed at the Contemporary...so I don't know where I would have seen you guys. We did go to MNSSHP on Sat and Tuesday...but you were there Sunday, right? Our schedule was Sat - MK, Sun and Monday - sick in the room and Tuesday/Wed in Downtown Disney and Hollywood. Maybe we crossed paths somewhere along the way?

Anyway...I am subing... I think it is neat that you can camp at Disney. I want to do that. Sounds fun!

We were very fortunate to stay at the Contemporary...not a normal Wish thing...to get to stay there. And it worked well for our trip. We did all get better and had a great time despite the trip to the hospital and being sick. So...all is well that ends well, right! And hopefully we can go back. We only got to do MK and DS, so we definitely have some catching up to do!

Great update! Sounds like a fun first night. When I was in the World, I guess I was a nerd to cuz I dreamed of riding the monorail all around the resorts and to Epcot. But I never got the chance. Oh well. Can't wait til your next update. I'm anxious to hear which park you chose.

We were at Disney the same time as you! We did Epcot on Saturday too, so if you stuck to your plan, than we probably saw you guys and didn't even realize it at the time. The camper looks very cool! No sense roughing it if you don't have to! I agree about the decorations for MNSSHP-very cool. We went on Tuesday. I'm also glad to hear I'm not the only one that rides the monorail for the heck of it!

Hi Hillary - red your honeymoon TR awhile ago so I was excited to see that you started another one. We are staying at Ft Wilderness next year. We are renting an? RV from someone in FL. I'm really excited. Me and DH used to tent camp years ago here at home but I think the kids will enjoy the camping especially at Disney. We're going Nov 25th to Dec 5th so I think I might bring some Christmas decorations to put around the site. Can't wait for more.

Wow, you did a lot on your first day!

On our trip we were getting on the boat back to POFQ the captain saw a lady wearing a Happy Anny Pin. He told her "congrats" and she looked at him and said, "Can't you see I'm standing here by myself? My husband is fighting with me." (or something like that) The captain didn't know what to say. That lady was a weirdo!! (like your angry couple you saw!)
Why do people act so rude at WDW???

I love the Rainforest Cafe too, it's a must-do for us now after a 2006 trip where my parents and I sat at the bar at the AK RC and had cocktails and blue crab dip. It was such a fun time and one of my favorite memories from that trip. Now I always try to go there when at DTD, although I am really bummed that the blue crab dip is gone!
It is so neat to see all the pictures of Ft. Wilderness. I think this is the first TR I've read where someone has stayed there! Really neat, seems like a great place for a big group.

And no, there is no roughing it for us! DH and I would like to go stay in a tent there sometime...but that is not typically my kind of thing. I "camp" in a very nice camper, that is about it!!!

what is up with that? I understand not every moment is perfect, everyone gets tired and grumpy, but geez...these couples that are just downright ANGRY. I don't get it!!

Yes we looooove the Rainforest. I don't think I've ever had the blue crab dip..that sounds good!!!

Oh I just love the monorail...stinks that DH doesnt get it...I could ride it for hours too but he just doesnt get it. At least he puts up w/my Disney obsession enough to go w/me!!

I haven't been to MVMCP since I was young, but I remember it being really awesome. I know you'll love it.

And YES I'm SO SO excited to go back now!! More on that later in the TR...

But I plan on doing a PTR after I finish this TR up!!

Day 2
Friday October 3, 2008

How awesome is that feeling, when you wake up, the first morning at Disney, and it takes a moment to realize exactly where you are. It's not your bed......but...YOU'RE AT DISNEY! That is totally how I was this first morning. I woke up around 8 and as soon as I remembered where I was, I was UP! DH had been up for a little bit, sitting outside the camper w/my parents. We then began our morning routine...got our shower bags, walked over to the shower house and took our showers. We came back and got ready, and ate breakfast. I had my oatmeal everyday, he had some variation of junk food.

My brother was still asleep (he works late at night so he was not on the same schedule as us! He got used to it after the first day though!) My mom decided to go ahead and go down by Pioneer Hall and buy tickets, to save time once we got to the park. We still had not decided where we were going btw. So DH and I decided to go w/her, and my dad stayed there to urge brother out of the bed!

We rode our bikes, taking the long way around so we could see more of the camground. It was AWESOME. People go crazy there w/decorations. We'd seen it during Christmas before, but never having been there during Halloween we were so excited to see everything. There was this one camper, they obviously were staying for quite some time. People would stop in front of it to just look and take pictures. If they are a diser, and come across this, it was AWESOME!!! We drove past it a couple times just to look at it more...

So we got back to where Pioneer Hall is, and got our 2-day tickets. We had a bunch of questions for the lady there, but I will get to that later on...

We rode our bikes around some more, trying to take up some time so we'd be ready to go when we got back!

When we got back to the camper brother was almost ready. We sat down and were discussing what park. MGM (Hollywood Studios, whatever..) or Animal Kingdom. My brother hadn't been in a long time, to either one really. At first he was set on AK. He loves animals and thought we should do that. In the meantime...DH is trying to decide on what shirt to wear! lol. We had been to the closest Disney store to us, in Atlanta, about a month ago. We both got a few tshirts for $5. He had found a few Donald ones, and then at Kohls one day we found an Animal one, from The Muppets. So obviously, MGM= Animal tshirt, and AK=Donald. Makes sense, no?

Well then we started talking about MGM. What all there is to do there...all the new things that my brother hadn't been on or seen...like Lights Motor Action, etc. So, after much debate...and really, how can you go wrong w/either...MGM it is!!! YAY! I was happy, bc I really wanted to go there more!

Off we went! To the bus stop...to the front, and again, great luck and a bus was pulling in not long after we got there. OFF to MGM!

On the way there, we did some reminiscing about past trips and stuff we'd done when we were kids. That was one of the high points of this trip I think. The last time the whole family went, I was in high school I think, and my brother in middle school, and he wasn't interested in Disney so much. Just didnt enjoy it. So just having all of us there, having FUN, was awesome.



We got to MGM, and just slowly walked down the street, taking it all in.

As we got down towards Sunset, we noticed this guy....

standing on the bench, in the tree. Odd? We waited a few minutes to see what was going to happen, but he just kept standing there, so we moved on. I walked towards the tip board to see how long the wait was for Toy Story Mania, since it was brand new and we were dying to try it! It only said about 50 minutes, so we decided to head that way, and maybe see what time Fast Passes were for.

Before we could head that way though, this guy came along...

"Jan!! It's your birthday!? Why didn't you call me????"

or something like that. He was hilarious, and had all kinds of crazy stuff to say. Then started yelling out, "It's Jan's birthday!!" funny stuff.

Thoroughly pleased w/myself for getting that pin for her, we were on our way to TSM!!

When we got there the standy time now said 40 minutes, and Fast Passes were for late that afternoon, so we decided to just wait. And wait. and wait. After the first 30 minutes or so when we could tell we were NOWHERE near the front, we talked about how much it sucked, but at this point, we might as well keeping waiting. and waiting. I took pictures to entertain myself...

FINALLY we got to the ride. I think we ended up waiting about 70 minutes, so it was a big chunk of our time. BUT, it was AWESOME!! My mom and brother rode together, and DH and I, so my dad was alone. I LOVED it. I was a bit worried about the spinning bothering me...I get motion sick pretty easily, but it wasnt bad at all. One time I got a little dizzy but I just closed my eyes during the spinning. My brother killed us all though, I dont remember the score but it was insane. Really high score.
