Hi everyone! I have a question about childrens activities. My kids will be 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 for our next trip and I need to know what kind of activities they have for there age group. We will be there the first week of Feb.
Thanks,
Tara

From Page 1: (Check my post on page 1 for more fun activities for guest at Wilderness Lodge also check out the same post for fun activities to do at Ft. Wilderness Campground just a quick boat ride from the Lodge.)

What activities are available at WL for children?
On select days Wilderness lodge has programs for children: Duck Races on Upper Silver Creek, Pool Games, Fireside Storytelling, (Meet in your pajamas at the Mercantile Fireplace) Beach Games, Penny Toss & Duck Rings.
Daily Activities: Open Crafts and Games in Cub's Den (free)
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
*For good rainy day activities, ask for a Kid's activity/coloring book at the bell station or a list of Hidden Mickeys at Guest services. You can also get a list of the resort's music at the Mercantile shop.
Explore the resort:
Indian artifacts, historic paintings, and survey maps are displayed. Follow Silver Creek from it's indoor origin as a Hot Spring and onward outside as a bubbling brook and waterfall, eventually making it's way to Bay Lake.
Flag family:
Ask about becoming a Flag family. Each morning a family is selected to go on the Lodge roof to help raise the flag! This is popular, so inquire at check-in for a better chance.

Last report we had was call for the fridge when you arrive to your room if one isn't all ready there, There sould be no charge...(but I would ask to be sure) :p

Wow! Thanks for all the info. We ate at the WL our last trip and we never noticed that there was a stream inside of it. We also nver looked at the pool area or waterfalls. I am glad because we will have some surprises. This is our first time as a family staying at a WDW resort. I am so excited!

Wow, I keep reading all of the great information here and just an about to pop with excitement over staying at WL--finally next week!!!!!!!!! Thanks again everyone (Tig-girl, Majestic & MagicinmyHeart especially!) for sharing your joys of WDW and WL stays with us all. I am finally "in the shoot" with my DH for our trip and would not have jumped at the Honeymmon suite if not for the + reviews and advice for those who have toured and/or stayed there!:bounce: So many thanks and here we go next week.

Hope that we did all we need ahead to make it extra magic. I have been politely mentioning to itinerary email staff HOW MUCH we dream of MK view in Honeymoon Suite...if that helps at all to get same!?! It is in ressie at least.

We shall see but anyway, THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sunny: :wave2: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :jester: :Pinkbounc ::yes::

Has anyone ever used a discount code (AAA, AP, room only, etc) for the WL Villas? I was told yesterday, that the Villa empty rooms are released to the general public six months out and that they "should" qualify for any of these discounts if they are available.

I am not sure about any discounts but I think it would still be cheaper for you to rent points from someone off of the DVC board. That is what we did and loved it.

If we are not DVC members, can we still rent points?

Anybody can rent point. You are renting them from an owner, not WDW. Beckie, magicinmyheart is an owner. She could give you more info.

Three weeks from tomorrow, we will FINALLY be checking in to WL for the first time! Our first Disney Deluxe stay!

I haven't told my DH and DS... they still think we are staying all 6 nights at POP. I suppose I will have to tell them sometime, before my DH gets all unpacked for the week! :p

I just love having little surprises like this. Last spring break, I knew ahead of time that we'd been bumped up to first class on our return flight due to the airline way over-booking. I didn't tell DH and DS until we were ready to board! It was a great way to put a little something "extra" into the end of our trip. -- Of course, now DS7 thinks that is the ONLY way to fly! :rotfl:

I'm hoping this experience will convince my DH to try a villa next trip... Wish me luck!

HI WL fanatics!
We stayed there a few years back and absolutely loved it. I'd have to say that it's our favorite. We're considering doing a split stay there in May. I've read through this thread, but can't seem to find my answer (I may have just missed it though, so I apologize). I'm thinking of doing woods view. I'd like to be on the MK side (facing otter pond). When making a ressie, how do I request that? Do I say "Northwing", or should I just describe "otter pond view".

My second question is, how are the rooms with bunkbeds? Where are they located?

Thanks in advance!

North Wing Woods View facing the Magic Kingdom over the pond if possible. :) (The otter pond is about halfway down the north wing.)

Good luck!

Fred

A big thanks to everyone who participates in this thread! I have learned a lot of things, and we leave tomorrow bright and early for our very first WDW trip, and we get to stay at the WL! I will give a report when I get back.

I am so excited :hyper:

Heading back to the Lodge next week for a big extended family trip. Yahoo! Does anyone know when the Christmas decorations go up. I think they were up last year when we were there the same week and stopped in for dinner at Whispering Canyons.

Oh one other thing, Does anyone think that the usually slow week before Thanksgiving week will be crowded now that the new Stitch ride is opening?

See You All When I Get Back From The Lodges!:wave2:

Thanks for a quick response to my question. I'll definitely ask for that view.
What about the bunk bed rooms. Are they located in the rooms with a view of the otter pond? Does anyone know if the top bunk has a bed rail?
