You know the only other thing going on that might effect the bookings if they are booked would be the new Hard Ticket Events thet are starting at the Magic Kingdom during your stay.

Magic Kingdom

Experience the new Disney's Enchanted Adventures Parade; new fireworks specially themed to the event, special merchandise, character meet and greets, a castle stage show and some of the most popular Magic Kingdom attractions!

Tickets are NOW on sale (7/6/06)

I thought of that too but jeez, is CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow SO popular that folks would rush to make reservations at the WL? I'm thinking...not. SO, I'm gonna call Disney in about 1/2 hr. and get the REALL scoop. (That is, if they'll share it with me ;) )

I think that sounds great for my DBF and I, sorta secluded and romantic! I cannot wait to book it!

Lil Mermaid

DBF :scratchin sounds romanic maybe you should take some Champagne and Chocolate Strawberries. Forget the hot chocolate.

This time is very popular with the locals and Floridians because the crowds are low and weather is mild. Most week-ends are booked way in advance so it could be just one night blocking the reservation. But like you I don't or wouldn't thank that the Pirate/Princess event would cause this I believe it's the system.

Good Luck

Last year, late august, a code (general public) was released for bookings (aprox) Oct-Dec. I used the code for my Thanksgiving week stay at the CBR. I was wondering if anyone had any luck booking a room/package at WL during that time? I thought I just got lucky since CBR (we loved it) isn't a popular resort. Just hoping my odds are pretty good this year for our first WL stay.

Thanks.

I have a quick question regarding WL Concierge. We are booked for Nov. 17-22 in a Concierge room, and have requested N/S, King bed, North wing, MK view, in that order. The last 2 requests aren't as important as the N/S and King bed.

My question is this - we are now arriving the night before, but based on our flight arrival time, we would not arrive at WL until basically midnight to 1 am of the 16th. I'm sure no one is on duty at concierge at that time, and I'm wondering what the chances of getting any of our requests at that hour are? I've already emailed my requests to IPO and have told they've been noted, but if my chances aren't very good, I'd rather stay near the airport the first night and arrive first thing in the morning of the 17th, even if we couldn't get into our room yet.

Any thoughts?

* sigh * well, we won't be staying 'home' [going to her "baby brother"....] but I DID make ressies for WCC..... :cool1:

You're right..I believe the Concierge goes off duty at 10 or 11pm. They are not there all night. Well before they leave however, I am sure they will have your room all assigned. I am not sure how many king beds are woodsview, north wing...the only king beds I know of up there are the honeymoon suites..but I could be wrong. Maybe someone else knows the answer to that. Going by price alone, if you check in before a certain time in the morning, you are considered as arriving the night before. Checking in at midnight or 1am would have you charged that nights stay. That's alot of money to me, you'd essentially be paying +$450.00 (full price estimate) for about 6 hours for your room. For that reason I would stay off site and get there around 8am or so. Even though your room may not be ready, you can still utilize the concierge lounge for it's breakfast :) and there are plenty of places to sit and relax or go off to the parks. Plus, you'll get the concierge service from the moment you drive thru the guard shack and are greeted at the door by your Concierge :) Those are my thoughts.

Thanks for the opinion, Lisa. I think I'm leaning towards staying at the airport as well. Here's my question - any idea how early concierge is there in the morning? I would like to get to WL, check in, eat a quick bite, and make it to MK by rope drop, when it opens at 9 that morning. So I guess I was just wondering, does concierge get there at 8, 7? Any ideas? Thanks again for the info.

Well..I know coffee service starts at 6:30am..so they would have to open the lounge for that..they may be there as early as 6am..but I've never been out there that early. Then they set out breakfast(bagels, croissants, muffins, pastries, cereals etc) at 7am. So I would think you'd have no problem getting a quick bite to eat then head over to the MK :)

hey Lisa getting excited !! I am I hope I will get to see you in the lobby.

Oh Kelly, we are totally excited! :goodvibes I went to the grocery store the other day and stocked up on a couple of cases of bottled water (we are driving this trip)..the aerosol Coppertone sunscreen, ziplock bags..you know, all the goodies that make you feel like you're going to Disney :) I am so sure we will bump into each other up in that lounge somewhere..we'll have to PM each other right before we go..to figure out how and say a quick "hi" :) There's only 50 rooms up there..maybe we'll have it all to ourselves ;) I know when I went in December...it seemed like only ours and one other family was up there for the beginning of our stay! I saw them all the time :)

This thing with no standard views available for next year has me wondering what's going on...I believe all the request have been made through TA...Wondering if they may all be packages? Or AAA discount request...Maybe they aren't offering standard rooms with the packages. :confused3 I have never heard of this happening before.

I also had corresponded with Debbie at Dreams Unlimited, and so was very surprised that only a courtyard or above seemed to be available, more than 10 months out!

well i called tonight for more than 1 diser and i checked dates in jan feb and march and was told no woods or standard views
as a TA i checked wdws ta site and got nothing there either
i called back tonight and was told they had availability in june 2007 for woods view
they had tons of courtyard and bunk bed rooms though

Do you have an idea as to why there are no standard rooms available? It just seems odd to have them all show unavailable at this early point in time. :confused3

I'm lucky then for already making me reservations for January...that stinks that there no standard or woodsview rooms available

I dont know
I mean the WL is very very popular and add to that it the cheapest of the deluxes and GREAT access to MK.
Many will book rooms and then upgrade those to packages when they come out. I was very surprised. Now Feb is a school vacation month where several weeks of that month kids are off here in the northeast so I can see those being booked but I am very surprised they are all gone. I am going to speak with some other people I work with today about this.
