I have been remiss in welcoming all our new visitors (and hopefully new members) to the Tagliarcy. But now I'm going to correct that oversight. So,

And welcome back Kismetdreams. You have found the friendliest and most colorful thread on the DIS. So find a comfy spot to sit, enjoy a delicious snack, pick a color (if you've yet to do so), and join in the fun.

I've placed my first, of at least three, Girl Scout cookie orders. How about trying out the new ones with me. Double Dutch - "Double chocolate, double delicious."

AND Lemon Coolers - "Cool, refreshing and lemony." (And from what I hear, VERY lemony.)

Okay, someone - I think it was [color=CC00CC]Kismetdreams[/color] - suggested we have an official color for the "Tagliarchy". What a great idea. Any suggestions what that color - or colors - should be? Should we hold another poll? (You know if it's left up to me I'll make it a rainbow of colors. )

ohanafamily, We are planning on having Mickey and maybe Minnie, tho it is looking as if she might be out of the budget at this point. No one except our parents know about the mouse coming.

We think we will have between 35-50 at the wedding and reception. My invitations are supposed to come tomorrow, so tomorrow night will be a long night of addressing, so I can send them out ASAP. I am such a procrastinator!

Most of my family will not be able to make it, but most of his family lives in Florida, so they are all planning on coming. The fewer people who come, the better, tho...budget is VERY tight!

We are also planning on serving the Cinderella Slipper Mousse Dessert...That's another surprise!

I think that's all the big surprises. We might have a staged getaway from the Wedding Gazebo in the boat Breathless and then come back around for the photos, but that is still in negotitation!

Quick question, did you book the rooms or anything else through Disney Travel? if you did, and didn't use a travel agent, you might be able to switch it over to Dis-Savers, you might be able to save close to 10%!!!

Also, ask Lewski709 about getting 1 refillable mug and having everyone share it to save the cost on the drinks!!!

I really was just kidding, we have been laughing at how seriously some people on some threads take these sorts of things.....

ohanafamily, LOL! Believe it or not, if you have a custom wedding with Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings, you have to promise a certain number of room nights as part of your contract.

Since we are having around 50 guests, we have to cover 25 room nights, but we also recieve a discount rate for up to three resprts. My resorts are AS Movies, Coronado Springs and Yacht Club. The rates are lower then standard, but the new AP rates are lower, so I am calling on Monday and trying to get our reservation transferred over to the AP rate.

Right now, most of my room nights are covered and barely anyone has used the discounted rates, since one of Brian's aunts is DVC and she has booked alot of rooms for his side of the fam.

I really cannot wait until the wedding and getting to see my honey again! BTW...I told him about this group, and he said HI!!!! All the way from Korea!

Actually, [color=CC00CC]Kismetdreams[/color], one of my best friends was married a few years ago to a girl from Seoul, Korea. We went to the wedding there. They now live in Hong Kong! My only regret from the trip was that I wanted to go see the border, but there wasn't any room left in the tour bus. I hope Brian is keeping safe!!! I understand that there has been some action in that area of late.

Also, Here is the scoop on Dis-Savers. It is associated with the Dis, and what you do is book your vacation through Disney Travel. When your reservation is complete, and exactly as you like it, you call them and switch your travel agent to Dis-Savers. They charge you a fee for every time they have to touch the record, and give you their 10% commission back less these fees. It costs about $30.00 to joint for a year. What this means is if you book directly through Disney Travel (without using a Travel Agent) you may be able to shift the reservations to a Dis-Savers without any regard for special rates, guarantees for rooms, or anything like that...If you tell Disney Travel that you have a travel agent, even a month out, the travel agent gets a std commission. Dis Savers gives you the commission (less a few fees) It won't help on everything, but since you mentioned that money was tight, I thought you might want to know a way you might be able to save a little bit...I am not trying to advertise for them, but t is sponsored by the Dis. I do not know how you booked your reservations, or even if you can put someone else's with yours and use Dis-Savers, but I thought you might like to know a painless way to save some money...I am rambling again... Sorry...

Good morning everybody! I missed you all this weekend. I had a very "artsie" weekend. Went to a gab fest for Judy Kuhn. She was the singing voice of Disney's Pocahontas and the original Cossette on Brodway's Les Miserables. What a fabulous talent. Also took Sam to see Mama Mia. What a fun play. I didn't think I knew that many Abba songs!

My dh doesnt care for disney so I don't think he would even consider a dis wedding for my daughter-oh well! We are AirForce too. Where in FL will you PCS to? We were at Eglin for a few years. Still own a house there.

ohanafamily you are something else. Is there something you DON'T know?? You give the best advice. I love your wedding idea about saving $ on the rooms. Too cool. I'll keep you in mind when I need to save a few bucks.
