I haven't seen bluezoo or Shula's on Restaurant.com since last year. I haven't looked for them until around 4 months ago, and they weren't on it. I know I bought a bluezoo for December 2010.

Good morning Kimber!

If there's no categories then you should be able to make a request. Let us know what happens when you call back!

I haven't seen any of the restaurants on restautant.com for awhile now.

I check into my dumpster view room at The Dolphin tomorrow YAHOO!!

Safe travels, have a Magical stay, and we will await a photo of your latest dumpster view! ;)

Would you believe it?? I got the same guy!!! :sad2:

The conversation went better this time. I asked for a high floor, which he added with no problem. When I broached the subject of requesting a view, he again insisted that he couldn't make those kinds of requests. I politely said I had been talking with some people on the Disney boards online, and that I knew that some of the Deluxe Alcove rooms in the East wing on the far East side did indeed have views of Epcot, and asked him if it was possible to word the request that way. At which point there was a pause and then he grumpily told me he could put the request in, but stressed it absolutely was not guaranteed. I cheerily thanked him and then got off the phone as quickly as possible!!
I think I need a nap! This vacation planning stuff is exhausting!

Tara..
Have a great vacation, dumpster view and all! :rotfl:
Can't wait to see pictures when you get back!

Have a great trip! I check into the Dolphin on Tuesday and stay through Monday - and it's a combination of business and pleasure. We've also been told the hotel is full.

Have a great trip!! Hope you will post pictures when you get back!

All this dumpster view talk has me wondering if the Swan also has "less desirable" views? Is it the same? Should I request a view? I have two adjoining rooms in the Swan this May. I am so excited to go though...the view won't stop me from having a great time! :) Can't wait!

We are at the Dolphin from June 23 to July 3 - and the Dolphin is sold out for 7 of our 10 days.

When we do the Grotto pool - it will be 9 am, when it first opens.:goodvibes

Question about the go green offer. If we are staying 4 nights, and we refuse housekeeping 3 nights, will we receive only a $5 credit(or starwood points) or would it be $5 x the number of nights refused?

For each night...

We are pleased to offer you the option to decline housekeeping service during your stay, excluding the night prior to checkout. Service will automatically be provided every fourth day of your stay. For each day you help us conserve natural resources, we will provide a $5 food and beverage voucher for use at our resort OR 500 SPG ® Starpoints™ redeemable at check out. To opt-in to this program, dial extension 5678 from your guest room telephone by 2am. If you decide to resume service, please contact Guest Services at extension 66.

If you had to buy 500 starpoints it would cost you 17.50. I would take the starpoint if it were me.

Was his name Paul? I dealt with him a few times when booking an Executive Suite. He's less than stellar in the bedside manner department!

Nope, it was Daniel! (But I'm making a note about Paul! ;))
In Daniel's defense, though, he was very knowledgable and extremely professional right up until The Requesting Of The View.
I've decided it's kind of like a hotel stay that is perfectly fine until that one glitch happens, which leaves a smear on the rose colored glasses. In reality, my conversations with S/D reservations have all been extremely professional. That one glitch, though, is totally messing with my perspective!!

I'm really so very thankful that there are so many positive people on this thread! No hotel is without its flaws, but knowing where the potential disappointments are (and how others have successfully or unsuccessfully resolved them) allows me to plan around them.

What I'm really mad at myself about was that the very first girl I spoke with was all kinds of helpful...just went above and beyond! She even gave me her extension and told me to call her if I had any more questions! But I couldn't figure out which hotel number to call to get through to her extension! And on top of that, I forgot to write down her name! :headache:
Just goes to show you...write down EVERYTHING! (As if I need any reasons to add to my OCD tendencies!)

Hi there! We've been dying to stay near Epcot, but the prices at the Beach/Yacht Club and Boardwalk are too expensive - we need 2 rooms w/ 4 teens in the family. So we're really interested in the Swan & Dolphin.

Do Swan & Dolphin offer discounts for AP holders? If so, approximately how far in advance are they available and what are the typical discounts?

Has anyone been recently? I was just looking at reviews online and lately they have all been really negative? Wondering why, because the older reviews are all stellar.

I may be wrong, but I don't think so. They are owned by Starwood and not Disney. They seem to have their own discounts. I can't remember ever seeing them included in Disney discounts. You should check out the Swan and Dolphin page and look under "Special Offers."

S&D do offer AP rates, but we have found AAA to be better than the AP by a few dollars at times. I really can't answer when S&D open the AP rates. In 2010, we booked an AP rate in the fall for the fall of 2011. Those rates seem to become available much sooner than Disney releases its AP rates. I'm sure others who are more in the know about the resorts will be along to offer further information. :thumbsup2

Yes, they do.

I was there several months ago, Dec. If a stellar review equates to excellent, then for me, stellar, as always.

Review sites, like a Yelp or Trip Advisor type sites, will generally have more negative reviews rather than positive, just human nature to more easily complain than praise.
