Don't forget "Trick or Treat" today until 7pm.

I just booked a reservation for next week and got 10% off my rate!! :woohoo: Too bad it's only a 1-night res and at the Teacher rate, but I loved saving the additional 10%!!! :thumbsup2

(and this stay will keep me at Gold for next year so I'm doubly happy!!! :yay:)

:goodvibes

It took me about 25 minutes to get through on the reservation line. I ended up booking a 6 night res in December at the SANTA rate (yay! Trick Or Treat applies to that rate!) and got the milk & cookies turndown. I just think it's so cute! The extra 10% discount would've been nice, but the Santa rate was pretty low and has regular cancel penalties so I'm happy. I was wondering what I'd get since I'll be solo and the "for two" qualifiers on the breakfast and dinner credits wouldn't work; room upgrades are redundant since I'm SPG Platinum.

You can prepay for the shuttle (airport to Swan/Dolphin) on the Mears website. The cost was $20/pp one way or $36/pp round trip (at least that's what it was last month when my daughter took it). You give them your approx arrival time so they know when to expect you. Print the voucher which has the confirmation number and bring it to the Mears counter at MCO. (that's in the same area of Magical Express, by the rental car counters).

The roundtrip Mears fare from the airport to the Swan/Dolphin is $33 per person. I returned home yesterday. :(

Does this work on existing reservations also, Rachel?

Does this work on existing reservations also, Rachel?

Yes, it does Dan.

I called trying to make a new reservation if my dates were still available and if I could still get the "SANTA" rate and still get "Trick or Treat.

He said, yes, the rules says you should make a new reservation, but he asked if I already had an existing reservation.

I said yes.

He said I already had the best rate at $122.50 per night, but he could draw a "Trick or Treat" from his pumkin and see what I would get.

He said I won a free breakfast for "2".

Yeaaaa...do you want to eat breakfast with me, Dan?

Dan, you should call yourself.

He said that he would apply the free breakfast to my reservation.

You have a chance of getting...

1. a FREE UPGRADE.

2. a FREE BREAKFAST credit for 2.

3. a MILK AND COOKIE TURNDOWN AMENITY.

4. A $100.00 CREDIT TOWARDS DINNER FOR 2.

5. an ADDITIONAL PER CENTAGE OFF YOUR ROOM RATE.

6. and much more.

I say everyone should go for it while they last if you don't mind waiting on the phone for the next available reservationist at 1-888-828-8850

I did call, Ray, and my treat was a S/D refillable mug, which I have never purchased in the past. Something for nothing is always good. :cool1: The reservation person I talked to was really pleasant, nice to talk to.

As for breakfast, would love to share and break bread with you, Ray. Sounds good. :woohoo:

Good seeing you here as a 'regular' too, Ray.

And neat treats for you guys too, Rachel and IG!!

That's great Dan. As time gets closer to going to WDW and our itineraies are made, maybe we can decide when we would like to choose a good time to Meet and Greet and Eat Breakfast

What other "Trick or Treat" gifts did the rest of you receive?

I was really hoping for that $100.00 dinner credit to eat at Shula's Steakhouse.
I have never eaten there.

But I am very happy with a free breakfast for two. It si going to be an even better "TREAT" to share breakfast with Dan.

If any solo people out there win that dinner treat, and we are there the same time, I'll volunteer to have dinner with you at Shula's Steakhouse...hint...hint.

Good luck everyone.

I know I mentioned the promo in this thread back in the beginning of September, but if you signed up for the Starpoints in Paradise SPG promo, those Trick or Treat reservations for a 4-nt or longer stay will get 10,000 bonus points posted to your account as well. It looks like registration for the promo closed on 10/15.

Thanks for the info on the Trick or Treat! I'm not staying til April 2011, but they still gave me a "treat"...I got an additional 10% off our room rate! :thumbsup2 I saved another $20 a night! Thanks to everyone who suggested calling! Happy Halloween!

Woohoo! We "Trick-or-Treated" our way into a room upgrade from Limited View to Resort View for our Thanksgiving trip! I'm so thrilled about it!

They are busy and the wait was about 35 minutes, but it was definitely worth the time on hold!

Were you just making the reservation for the first time (for April 2011) or was that applied to an existing reservation you already had? I already have June 2011 booked, but if I can get anything extra by doing this (although, I thought it had to be for stays thru 12/31/10 anyway?), I'll definitely give a call.

It was applied to an already existing reservation...it's worth a try :) I waited over a half hour, and glad I did! :thumbsup2 Let us know how you make out

Us too! Guaranteed upgrade Thanksgiving week with the Trick or Treat promo. We had exisiting ressies standard room and told us we were guaranteed a resort view! Excited to be spending our first Thanksgiving with Mickey!

Yay! I only waited 15 minutes and received an upgrade for our already existing reservation in May! I already have the nurse discount so that may be why I did not get the 10% off. Hey, I'm very happy with room upgrade!:cool1:

I called an tried to apply it for my April reservation and he said he could not do it as it expired at the end of the year.....

I'm sad!:sad2: Somehow I missed the part of the Trick-or-Treat promotion that the offer was only good for reservations until December. I guess I need to do a better job of reading comprehension!:rolleyes1

The good news is this was the second time I have called the hotel and been TOTALLY impressed with the agent I spoke with. Today I was told to make sure I keep my eyes open for future discounts that would be applicable to my stay. Oh, and I went ahead and upgraded my reservation to guaranteed resort view with a patio/balcony.:cool1: I'm STILL saving almost $700 over the Boardwalk!

For those of you who haven't called yet, I called the hotel directly, and I was on hold for less than 5 minutes.
