Is the Tonga toast available at Capt. Cook's or is it only available at the
Kona Cafe?

Kona Cafe, Captain Cook's and room service. The TT from room service was the best of all during our January stay.

There is no playground at the Polynesian. It was removed years ago when the volcano pool was renovated.

that stinks. guess we'll just have to get our energy out on the beach.
note to self: pack sand toys:thumbsup2

NOT a fan of Tonga Toast. I ordered it once and only ate half because I didn't care for it.

There ... I said it. I'm here and I'm proud. Get used to it.

I'm there with you. Frankly, it is gross to me. Dh loves it. Now, wait until I say this...

Not a fan of the Dole whip either. Am I thrown out of the club now???:scared:

I LOVE the Poly though.

We'll start our own club. :grouphug:

Not a fan of pineapple flavor unless it's part of a combination of flavors.

I have nothing constructive to add to this discussion.... But I only have 2 more days to go until we leave for THPOE!!! (the happiest place on earth)
:yay:
Until then I am doing massive amounts of laundry
:laundy:
Going over my last minute lists
:scared1:
TRying to keep DD calm
:cheer2:
And waiting for time to pass.
:hourglass

 Wow! You are so lucky -- you're going to be there in 2 days!!! I hope you have a great time and let us know how the Poly was (some of us still have weeks and weeks of waiting:sad2: )!

Ok, I'll say it too, I am so NOT a fan either. Although, I didn't even get up the nerve to order it. DD14 did and I took a bite.:scared: I get creeped out just thinking about that one bite. Way too sweet for me.

Ok Poly lovers:) Havent stopped by here in a long time:) I am a Poly Bride and havent stayed here since 03...I hate these type questions..and here I am abt to post one! lol

With AP rates out, I decided to split my stay at BCV and save those weekend DVC pts! So I booked CR Garden Wing, never stayed at CR ever!
But now, WIth just the girls and I, I got the pang to change for $80 more...lol
(GV)
ANy thoughts from you Poly fans? Thanks in advance:)

If anyone is interested, AP rates are out from April 19 through June 2009. Looks as if the January to June promo is a better deal, but the AP rate gives a 22.5% discount. I checked and there was even availability at the concierge level.

Hope it helps someone! :thumbsup2
Tess, are you trying to get me in trouble?

WHAT?! You're a disgrace to this thread
JK - I get Tonga Toast to pick on as an "appetizer". No way I could make it my breakfast. I'd have a hyperglycemic attack before noon! Well, maybe with that side o' sausage :rolleyes1

OK you FREAKS who don't like Tonga Toast. I am drawing a line

party::rockband: party:

You stay on your crazy mini-bike riding, horn blowing, balloon animal making, scary make-up wearing, frizzy haired, unmatched ill-fitting clothes side of the line. Us Tonga Toast lovin folks are having a taste bud party on the other side.

Seriously....I am glad you aren't competing for my plate of food. Don't go near my Pina Colava drinks at the pool either:laughing:

We were thinking of staying at the Poly for the first time until we heard that the suites are the only rooms that offer king size beds. Is this true? If so, this would make the Poly the only deluxe resort to do this....:confused3

Bumping this so you will get an expert answer, but as a guest with only a few visits under my belt I believe your information is correct: Two queen and sofa/day bed in rooms except a couple/few) suites where you will find a King.

Yes, unfortunately, the only King beds are in the suites. The rest of the resort has 2 queens per room (plus an additional sofa/day bed in some).

Love that I am on the taste bud party side. Woohoo! :dance3: Tonga Toast is a must try. Good stuff, Maynard!

It's true but it's not only the Polynesian. The same is true at the CR. I think the Y&BC have a few king rooms but in a different category...deluxe or something like that. The GF has a few regular rooms with kings...very few supposedly. Don't know if BWI has kings in regular rooms.
