I cannot wait to head back to my second home (The Polynesian)!!! Only 37 days to go. I hope everyone has a lovely trip whose going before me.

My DH and I will be arriving at the Poly in 37 days. This will be our first stay there.:woohoo: Look out for an old couple! :lmao: I'll have a LGMH.

can't can't can't wait to walk in the lobby and get that poly smell!!!! sigh :goodvibes it will be DH first stay there and I'm excited for him to experience it!!

It looks like a lot of us will be at the Poly for Christmas! I think it will be nice to have such a beautiful place to retreat to after the madness at the parks! ;)

:tink: oh, being there at Christmas would be gorgeous!!!!!

we won't be there til next fall. :beach:

a ? for the Poly experts (we've been before but it's been so long)

king beds are suite only?? right now we are garden view - how many notches would it bump up our rate for a suite??:rolleyes1 (afraid to ask)

thanks!!!! xoxoxo

This morning, DD10, who loves Disney as much as I do, finally told me to quit it after I said "one week from right now we'll be on our way to the airport!"

Apaprently, my little countdowns are getting a bit annoying! :rolleyes1

I don't care, right now it's in the 40's, windy and cloudy here in Wisconsin and I'm in the process of "pre-packing" for our Disney trip...:laundy:

I do that to! "one week from now ...."

I'd be packed already if I were you!! I get so excited I start throwing things in the suitcase like 6 weeks before the trip :rolleyes1

I hope you come back with lots and lots of pictures to share!

Especially when the madness is at a peak level at the parks during the Christmas holidays. LOL! The Poly seems like a world away of 'calm' during this time.

ok all of you poly people,
I have 34 days and a few questions, I want to make a note on my reservation to tell the it is my husbands birthday, who do I call?
I also would like to buy a couple of arcade passes can I use gift cards for this.
I want to charge to my room but will my kids cards have this on their MYW cards as well?
Do they have towels at the pool for resort quests?
TIA
Melissa

1. Just call CRO (Disney reservations) and ask them to note it's your husband's birthday on your reservation.

2. Yes, each person on the reservation will have their own "Key to the Kingdom" card. It's up to you if you want them to have "charging privledges" or not.

3. Yes, there are pool towels for the guests.

Have fun!

I am very excited about going back at Christmas. We Disneymooned at the Poly almost 14 years ago and haven't been back since. We took the kids for Christmas (their 1st trip) in 2005. They have NO idea we are going in December and think the trip is in May. I think that Santa's Elves (a big tradition here) are going to break the surprise that morning.

In regards to number 2 - we were not given the option to have our kids have charging priveledges. When I checked in and was given all of our Key to the World cards - all three of my kids said something like "not valid for charging". they are only 5, 7, and 9 and would not have been without us anyway so I didn't care.

If your kids are older than 9 years old, they will issue MYW key cards with charging priveleges unless you say otherwise. My DN13 and DGSis14 had charging priveleges because I'd let them go do things on their own while I was with DD8 and DN9 (who didn't have charging priveleges on their cards). :thumbsup2

Last year I was given the option of allowing my DD9 to be able to charge or not to her room key - I said yes, because it was fun for her to "pay for dinner" and since it was only the two of us, she was never out of my sight so I knew she couldn't abuse it, not that she would anyway.

Six more days, six more days....:dance3:

anyone know what options they have?
cash gift cards disney dollars etc?
thanks

also, do you perfer a foom with a balcony or on with a patio?
melissa:confused:

I have no experience with the arcade so I'm no help with that, sorry.

Personally, I prefer a room with a patio or balcony, but unfortunately had a room with neither last time. I really do enjoy having the option of walking out onto something (either a balcony or patio) when staying at a Deluxe resort. I think it's a shame some of the rooms at the Poly don't have either.

To buy arcade passes, you can use cash, credit card or your KTTW card. Gift cards aren't accepted. Below is a photo of the arcade prices at the Contemporary but they're the same at any arcade at the Disney Resorts:

melissa:confused:

If you have small children, I recommend a patio. It made it easier for my DD to go outside and I could watch her without fear of her climbing over the balcony (yes, she's high strung enough to do that). The only thing about the patio is, some of the Polyesian 'gangster' ducks like to come up and beg for food. :lmao:

Hope that helps!
