Johnsonet,
Thanks for the live report and posting those photos. Looking at ones from your room brings back memories of my families stay there last December, since we also had a Club Level Lagoon View.

What time do the fireworks start in MK each night? We have ressies for the Spirit of Aloha show on our first night at 8 PM and I was wondering if we would be done in time to see the fireworks from the beach on that first night.

Three weeks from today I will be at my all time favorite DW resort!! :thumbsup2

Is Spirit of Aloha really worth the $$...for those who've been there? I keep being tempted to do it however it seems like a LOT of money for the menu they show.....so maybe the show is worth the bulk of the cost???

Any pix?

Wishes starts at 10pm during the summer. We did the 8pm SOA show 2 weeks ago abd the fireworks were just starting as we were filing out. There is a beach right at the exit but there is no music there.

I thought it was ok. I am glad I did it but I am in no hurry to go back anytime soon. I prefer the HDDR. They are both very expensive but I think the food and entertainment at the HDDR are better than the SOA.

Mike, thanks for the quick reply. Seeing wishes will be a nice way to end our first evening at the Poly. :)

It was ok....not nearly as good or entertaining as a luau in Hawaii. I'm glad I did it, but I probably won't return anytime soon. The food was very good. The show was ok.

I'm looking forward to seeing the fireworks New Years eve. With small children I did not want to be stuck at the kingdom all day and night, so the view from the poly is perfect for us. popcorn::

I don't really think it's worth the time or money. We didn't care for the food and the show was very cheesy. The only part we truly enjoyed was the fire dancer at the very end. We really wanted to like it, but just didn't care for it at all.

SeaSpray Thinking of you at this difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss. :grouphug:

johnsonet Love your live report and pics! I agree with you 100% about the LVCL and the view. My DH was glad when we moved over from the Poly to GF because I wouldn't allow the drapes to be closed at night. I had to see *MY* castle at all times!!!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc  :cloud9:
I've been in such a funk since we got back (ya, it's been 2 months....) I haven't even been able to delete my countdown.

We had the most magical, wonderful stay! I would recommend LVCL to everyone.
I have some pics, I'll get some help from my DH to post them.

We'll be at the Poly for New Year's eve as well! It's the main reason I chose the Poly. Don't want to deal with the crowds in the MK that night. I've seen it and it is :scared1:

Has anyone gotten room service? I figured out that we have more dinning plan credits than what I initially thought. So I came up with the idea of using room service for our departure day breakfast. So if you got it, was it good and what's on the menu? Thanks

:thumbsup2 Sounds perfect. We were there once on NYE -- I would never do that with my DD! I would be too worried that I'd lose her there -- I have never seen crowds like I did that night! Watching those amazing fireworks from the Poly sounds like the best idea! Enjoy!:)

Hi everybody :wave2:
Great day today!

How are the crowds?
Hey. The crowds are definitely not bad. MK today was EMH and opened at 8am. We didn't get there until 8:30am. When we walked by the Main St. Bakery there was NO line  That's a first.
Speedway did have a long line so we went to Pooh for FP; got "Surprise FastPass" for PhilharMagic in addition to Pooh FP.
Walked to Peter Pan which had a posted 15 min. standby time at about 8:45am. We were given the lanyard they scan to determine current wait time and i also used the stopwatch on my phone and it took us exactly 9 min. to reach the ride.
At 9am we walked to Haunted Mansion and there was a line but we were in in less than 10 minutes.
I can tell a difference in the number of people in the parks for sure...

What beautiful pictures, johnsonet!!!! Thanks for sharing. Have a great time at the MK this am. A live report.......:surfweb: :cloud9:

johnsonet...:yay: I've been waiting for your live report!!

I remember the first time I saw the view of the castle from our room in the hawaii building. I was in awe as well. So glad you are loving it!!!

Great pics, thanks so much for sharing. Making me want Sept to get here even faster...the wait is killing me!

Have a wonderful time and can't wait for more...:goodvibes

Thank you both :cutie:

Johnsonet, I am looking very forward to your live reports as well...keep'em coming!!!

If you have a chance, can you find out if the sundries shop sells Silk Soymilk Vanilla flavor?

We went by both the sundries shop and Captain Cook's to look for the milk. The sundries shop does NOT sell it (at least not today!) but Capt. Cook's DOES. They have "Silk soy milk" (plain and vanilla) in 11 oz. bottles. Price was not marked but I asked a CM and she told me the price was $2.12.

Beautiful photos johnsonet :) I'll be at the Poly in Sept and I can't wait.

Thank you. You are in for a treat :cloud9:

Exactly! Our draperies have been WIDE open the entire time and that's the way they will stay. Too gorgeous (even during afternoon rainstorms!) to close them...

I have some more pics to share...

We've ordered room service many times over the years. We've enjoyed everything except for the pizza. Of course, it's probably been 15 years at least since we've ordered pizza so that shouldn't count as a review. Seriously, Polynesian room service is great. Things arrive hot and always quicker than we've been told. I still do miss an actual table and I bet the room service folks do too. Great burgers, sandwiches, pasta and even Tonga Toast for breakfast are among the things we've enjoyed. Wonderful CMs.:thumbsup2

We were staying at the Polynesian 12/31/99 and it was the perfect place to welcome the new millennium. I agree, much nicer than in the crowds of the MK.

Looking forward to your photos and more live reports. Thanks for posting.

Hi,I would like to buy crocs when I get to the Poly, does anyone know where I can buy them onsite
Thankyou:)

I saw the Mickey head crocs at the Boutiki shop in May. Also saw them at lots of other shops around Disney World. They should be easy to find somewhere on property.

Can anyone tell me for sure if there are mugs in every Poly room (not the disposable white ones but proper mugs) I know I have seen 2 black mugs by the coffee maker in one of the photos but not sure if that was a concierge room or even a suite.

Thanks, if there is it will save me packing my own or buying some there.:)

All I can say is ahhhhhhh. . .

How was the Wave? It looked interesting when we checked it out in June--thought about hitting it next May.
