Has anyone been to both the Spirit of Aloha and the Wantilan Luau at the Royal Pacific at Universal. If so, which is better and why? We are staying at both resorts in November and trying to decide which one to see. Any feedback is much appreciated from all you Poly experts:worship: . Thanks!

I have a question about garden view. Previously we've stayed in Fiji and Samoa with garden views... are those the best choices or are we missing out on another spot that is better??? We arrive at the Poly on July 30th. Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2

I've been in Tahiti and LOVED it. Rooms and bathrooms are large.

Been in Rapa Nui once and liked it fine.

We have been in GV rooms in Raratonga twice and I LOVE that location. It is RIGHT beside the GCH and very convenient to both pools, the bus stop, parking lot, Neverland Club and laundry room. Rooms on the monorail side face the monorail :teacher: and that's what we've been assigned both times :woohoo: GREAT location.

I definitely want to try Fiji one day though

When we were in Fiji we had a great view, these pics are old but take a look! :)

Just out of curiosity, why is that?

I think she just meant you get spoiled ;)

I myself am constantly staying at different levels of rooms. We've stayed in 2-bedroom suites w/ theme park views at GF and standard rooms at AKL. Garden view at Polynesian and Deluxe CL at BWI. I do stay at Deluxes only (at least for now!!) but I don't stay CL every time. I've learned to make every stay better and more relaxing and more decadent ;) Doesn't have to be Club Level necessarily :yay:

Sorry, I wasn't clear...it's still early :)

I mean what is it about Club Level that makes a regular room pale in comparison?

I've got to tell you: I am SO excited about this stay at the Poly. The rooms, the grounds, the whole package including our ADRs and the DDP. I honestly can't imagine how it could be improved upon.

I'm just wondering what it is about CL that is so much better?

I had the same issue when we went with ds last year, I rented one for the week along with some other gear from a babys best friend, the deliver it to the resort, if you think it will be an issue then rent it so you don;t have to worry about disturbing her routine. Have a wonderful trip!:goodvibes

Thanks!:thumbsup2

Hi all,

We've ordered water and other snacks a few times from a place called Goodings. http://www.goodings.com./default.asp

It worked out really well. When we arrived at the resort a package was waiting for us. We got water, peanut butter, bread, chewy bars, apples, oranges etc...Snacks and drinks we could toss in a nap sack and take with us to the parks. We saved alot of money this way.

You are right, the fridge is about the same size you would see in a dorm room or a small beer fridge some people have in their garage. Plenty of room for the kind of food I mentioned.

There is no cd player. Do you have an ipod. Your child could use that. But, as somebody else mentioned the kids are pretty tired by the end of the night. I think you can tune into Disney radio on the clock radio and if I recall there is some kind of story time or wake up call system from Disney characters on the phone but I'm not sure.

Cheers

Thanks for the info!! I will look into borrowing someone's Ipod. Can anyone else confirm that you can get Disney Radio on the clock radio in the room? If so, I should be okay with that too. I really don't want to have to pack more stuff. Thanks!:yay:

Me too!! We're planning a trip in June or August of '09, and are still undecided on a theme park view room and a garden view concierge room. The view doesn't really matter to us as we've already "been there done that" with the theme park view. So, what makes the concierge level so much nicer? :confused3 What are the amenities that stand out most? Oh, are there snobs abound like in the Grand Floridian as well?

No offense to any of the people who choose to stay at the Grand Floridian; it's a beautiful resort and I would love to stay there sometime, but it seems that there are plenty of people with their noses in the air walking around the lobby and common areas...

Thanks for any insight! :wizard:

I have picked Lagoon, baby!

Fantastic choice!! Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Once you go club level you never go back to a regular room. :goodvibes

I agree...you get spoiled. Honestly, the whole package deal, the overall experience is just different. We prefer to stay club level and happy that we can do so.

Oh, and by no means are we "snobs"!! I don't walk around with my nose in the air to anyone and neither do anyone else I've ever met while staying CL at any resort!!

We're like johnsonet. We enjoy club level but don't stay there every time. And no, I've never encountered any snobbish people there. But most that stay at the GF aren't either in our experience.

Club level is nice for the convenience of continental breakfast, appetizers, etc.. It is also nice to have the help of CMs with last minute changes, printing boarding passes, etc.. But the lobby concierge can do the same things for you.

The lounge has an incredible view. But again, all the beaches at the Polynesian share that view. If you feel like splurging for club level, it's great. But vacations in regular rooms are just as magical IMO.

Hi Poly Experts,
Quick question - is there a CD player in the room anywhere, perhaps clock radio?
I am a little concerned about putting my 2 year old down for a nap or bedtime. I'm hoping she will be exhausted but it would help if she could hear her Pooh music while drifting off.
Thanks!

Can you still get Disney music on a TV channel in the room? Maybe that would work. Or is the music too upbeat for naptime?

Just a thought.

That's a good idea. The channel with Polynesian info has Disney movie playing in a continuous loop. If the volume is set low, that might work well.

We were at poly 2 weeks ago and wanted to see Kaleo sing/play the ukelele in the lounge and someone different was there. When we asked about him we were told he no longer was employed there. Anyone know what happened and if this is indeed true?
