I don't know if it's been open long enough to still be considered new, but I'd appreciate a description of how POC differs from the older version. I think I've heard it described as "darker". Is it scarier for young children?

I don't think it's changed that much. Only three additions I counted, with Barbosa the new captain in the ship-fortress battle, and two Captain Jack sitings, plus the pirates talking about Sparrow. If they weren't scared of the old one, I don't think you have anything to worry about here.

I agree, however there is one possibly scary new feature that is a davey Jones projection.....

Davy Jones made my kids nervous the first time. They were fine with it on the second go around.

I tried to make it funny and leaned down and said we are going to sail right through Davy Jones empty chest. It sounded gross to me but they thought it was hysterical.

While maintaining most of the music from before, they did change it to the POTC theme music in some parts of the ride.

There are 3 sparrow additions (not 2). It is physically darker in the ride, not psychologically darker. I agree that if they were not afraid before, they should be fine.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm a bit concerned about the projection, but I think they should be fine.

My three year old DD snuggled a bit closer the first time through Davey but then wound up lifting her hands up to touch the mist and from then on was fine about it...I don't think it's a big deal...

The Davey projection was not that scary and went away pretty quick. Jack was looking mighty fine I must say..............
