Is there an easy explanation of how to buy them?
I've been so thoroughly confused by all the silly options that I've found myself very discouraged at being able to help other family members. In fact, from the looks of it, the folks that had planned to go with us next January will be spending quite a bit more for their tickets.......and are probably going to cancel and not go to WDW because of it.

Is anyone else feeling that way, that the choices are just too confusing now and that it's costing more for a family to go to the parks?

Maybe it's just me. I dunno.

The new tickets are designed to make us want to go to the parks more days on your overall vacation. Me, dh, dd 5 & ds 2 will be going 2/5-2/12/05 & staying @ CSR. At the end of Dec. I bought 4 day park hoppers, 2 adult 1 child, because we don't want to go everyday. With 2 kids I just thought it would be to much for them & i'm trying to prevent  any chance of meltdowns! Right!! So the 2 days we aren't at the parks we will resort hop, relax by pool (hopefully warm enough to swim) visit DTD & relax. I've read that the new tickets are designed, cost wise, for people going to the parks 5+ days. So, cost wise this was a better option for me & ran the numbers & it was cheaper with the hoppers. Plus you never know what could happen, stomach flu & being stuck in the room whatever I have kids. This way I also have the no expiration just in case. With the new tickets basically you pay for a ticket to A park, if you want to hop thats another fee, if you want no expiration, thats another fee, if you want to go to water parks, thats another fee. I hope this helps. :cool1:

Thankyou! Still confused but a little bit less so with your help. :D

Here it is, as easy as I can explain it:
You have a base ticket, good for your choice of 1 through 7 days . This is good for one park per day for the amount of days you purchase. The tickets are good for 14 days after 1st use.

If you don't want the ticket to expire when your 14 day time limit is up, you can pay to have the no expiration feature included, the amount you will pay will depend on the amount of days on your ticket.

If you want to go to water parks/PI/Disney Quest, you may add on the Magic Plus option, which is the same price, regardless of number of days on your ticket ($45). With a one through 3 day ticket, you will receive 2 magic plusses, on a 4 through 5 day ticket, you will get 3 magic plusses, on the 6 day you will get 4 magic plusses and on the 7 day, you will get 5 magic plusses. The more days your tickets have on them, the less the plusses will cost per day. The plusses will not take away a park day, but if you go to, for example, Typhoon Lagoon during the day and PI at night, that will use 2 of your Magic Plusses.

To add the Hopper options, which I believe will be the most popular option, it will cost you a flat $35 per day... again, the more days on your ticket, the less your per day cost will be.

I hope I have been able to explain the basics. If you would like, you may PM me and I would be glad to go into more detail.
