The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

I'm figuring I am safe to wear capris daily with these temps. I'm still wearing them here and it is in the 60s. I'm not wearing my white capris now since it is fall. But what about in Florida? Would white capris still be ok for the parks or should I leave them home and stick with the darker colors?

I don't think the "no white after Labor Day" rules apply in Florida, especially not at WDW. :)

I have two mostly white shirts packed...

Last year I left my white shorts and capris behind and when I got to Disney I felt like everyone was wearing white!

If you like your white capris and they are comfortable I say take them with you! I know I'll be wearing white capris!

My very first trip to Disney was on the train back in the 70s, I was in high school. It was a horrible journey. The train missed a station and had to back up. Sadly, later the train hit a child on a bike. After a long delay, we were switched to another train and it was full of cockroaches. They moved us to another car that didn't have them and fumigated the car that did. The smell came through to the car we were in and people were getting sick left and right. The commodes weren't working.

The ride should have been something like 17 hours but turned into over 30. By the time we reached Kissimmee, my mother was fit to be tied. Dad met us there because he'd been on a business trip and mom told him in no uncertain terms we were either flying home or renting a car and driving. We flew home. That was the last time I can remember being on a train. It was a bad start for the vacation, but turned into the very best family vacation we'd ever had.

And yet I still occasionally think I'd like to try autotrain just once.

All's well that ends well. :)

I keep telling DD we need to make a countdown chain - thats todays
"Must-Do"!

A countdown chain would be great to start tomorrow -- exactly one month away! I would consider myself to be a great Mom if I could pull that off (in addition to making cupcakes for one Halloween party, attending the other party, and just getting thru the crazy weekend!!!!)

Summerlady I get it...that's just like childbirth. We forget how hard pregnancy and delivery are..that is why we do it over and over again:rotfl:

I have heard mostly good things about the autotrain so I am going to be optomistic..well its free anyway..hard to complain about that.

Angela~ Oh No!!! Poor guy! Hopefully he will recover soon! if not, he can just do the scooter ....you will have a blast either way!!
Jessica~ Glad ya'll have made decisions and are moving forward!! Also, glad your DD is better!!! Hopefully it'll jumpstart whatever was wrong and she wont have to go thru that again!!!!

Ok so this is a bit off topic. But it seems I have developed a distinct love affair with cold Starbucks drinks.

It all started with Coffee Fraps Light blended coffee, and now I have found this new Starbucks doubleshot Energy + Coffee drink - This is a canned drink that you can buy in the convienence store. MMMMMMM .. Has anyone else ever tried it?

Well, before the low-carb plan, I was really into the Fraps (especially the caramel one), but now I have to do regular coffee with a little Redi-Whip...

I meant to go buy new suitcases today, but my son is really sick, so that will have to wait. I have been thinking about my to-do list, and I figure now is a good time to get it down on paper (since I finally caught up at work from being sick myself)!

Hello my fellow Disney friends!

I wanted to stop and check in while I had a moment. DD is doing much much much better. She finally had a break threw. And I mean that literally! lol The dr had to clean her out, which was a bit traumatic to say the least. We have to follow up with Gastro in the future. But for now, her dr thinks it may be a one time thing. Or, she is hoping it is. We should know in a week or so if her bowels stop working and the sensation to go poo goes away again.

We are still on for June 5-11. We did switch back to the Poly from AKL. We are going ahead with surprising the girls with our stay there. But we are not doing DxDP. Just regular DDP. We don't eat alot when it is hot, so the DDP is even a bit much for us in the summer.

As for DH and the great job hunt, he has kinda put it off for the moment. He will be working almost full-time for the Army. For those of you who understand military lingo, he made E5 in 2002. He made E6 in 2004. He never went to PLDC (or WLC, whatever its called now) or BNCOC. He kept getting delpoyed, then he had to have surgery on his knee that he hurt jumping off the top of a fuel truck when it was being shot at. That took a year alone to get approved! Gotta love the army and their paperwork! Then, he had to go threw a med board which took almost 2 years. He ended up on a deadmans profile and wasn't allowed to carry a weapon. Deadman for his knee. Not allowed to carry a weapon due to severe PTSD. He has since gotten his knee repaired enough to do PT (walk, but not run) and has been and still being treated for his PTSD (its ongoing for life) so they appealed his med board results. Now he has to do PLDC, BNCOC. And to top it off, he has to reclass because his job isn't needed any longer! Then, if he wants to, he can go right into ANCOC since he has been a E6 FOREVER! So, that should keep him busy well into next year.

So while the job thing didn't work out like we planned and we will be taking a bit of a pay cut, he will atleast be able to get all of his military stuff out of the way and not have to worry about a civilian job finding a reason to get rid of him for all the military training he has to do in the next year. You wouldn't believe how these companies who claim to support troops react when one of their employees are gone for any length of time. Its really sad.

But anyways, that is life in a nutshell right now. We are surviving. Things are working out in their own way. And we are still planning to go to Disney! Life could be a whole lot worse.

I promise to get caught up. I think I am only a couple weeks behind now... :sad2:

Thanks for the update. Keep us updated on DD and DH. You are brave to go to FLA. in the summer. I just can't take the heat.

I'm sure it'll be fine for you. :) So true on the pregnancies!

I can't believe how close I am to our departure date!!! I need to start putting suitcases and snacks together! I can't wait to have turkey with Mickey!

Mickey Mail today! Woo hoo! Can't believe in three weeks will be in bed trying to sleep so can get up at 3am to head to the airport. My shopping list is scrapbooking paper especially the 2010 set. I buy an ornament for each trip with the year and one for being our first holiday in Disney. A Dooney and Bourke bag I would like. Looked at them in September and almost ready to buy one. Usually like my Coach but can't pass up the Disney theme. A new Winnie the Pooh stuffed doll because I like Winnie and buy a different one each year. :) Christmas stuff i plan to look at and maybe some shopping for the 11 children besides my own I have to buy for. 21 days!!!! :cheer2:

Our long weekend starts next Friday. :)

missed 6 pages again. Had a scary health episode yesterday. I was sitting here on the couch checking my DIS and email and my heart started racing, I got flushed and my hands were shaking like a leaf. and my blood pressure went through the roof. I know that because I called the doctor's office and the nurse told me to check my blood pressure and call her back. I have a cuff because I check occasionally as I am being treated (successfully) for moderate high blood pressure. I am normal weight and exercise regularly. My bP was higher than EVER..... by the time my neighbor took me over to the doctor's office (which is about 3 miles away) and then the nurse took it, it was down to normal. The doctor is speculating that my morning coffee caused this... however, I'm skeptical because there was nothing unusual about my morning routine. Had a bowl of Fiber One with Lactaid milk and a cup of Gavalia Morning Blend that I made in my Tassimo. It had pumpkin spice syrup in it. Yum! The coffee was prepared and 8:45am and I drank it while taking my nephew to the dentist. It took me an hour to finish the cup. Morning blend makes a larger cup and by the time I add the Almond Breeze for creamer and the syrup and Nutrasweet, it fills my Resort Refillable mug, which I use every morning for my coffee. Anyway, this incident occured at 10:30am. So I'm not sure how its related to the coffee or how you can have a reaction to coffee when you normally drink a cup every morning. It seemed to come in waves. I would calm down, and then it would swing back up again. I didn't think to ask the doctor if that sounds like perimenopause symptoms??:confused3 I'll be 47 next week. My DH put the symptoms into webMD and came up with panic attack. Which, the doctor asked me if I'd ever had. :confused3 Again... to have a panic attack, would you not have to be worried about something? A similar thing happened to me when I was calmly sitting on an airplane on my way to somewhere once. Never had happened before and never since, and I, at the time, didn't really think that I was that scared of the plane trip. So I tried to relax and had the stewardess bring me some tea. And I was fine. But really... I was sitting here at the computer checking email before my planned trip to the fabric store and then Target. Nothing unusual. I suddenly feel like those people on Mystery Diagnosis. I was doubting my doctor.. like... yeah.. all these people on that show are told one thing.. and it takes 10 doctor's to get at the truth often over years.

THEN... if THAT wasn't bad enough...... I'm recovering at home and I hear helicopters hovering overhead. You all saw it on the national news. One of my neighbors a few blocks away, in my neighborhood!:scared1:was arrested for a terrorist plot to blow up the Washington DC subway. :sad2: Several of my friends were interviewed as that said "he was a quiet, good neighbor who kept to himself"....had a wife and small child... she ran a group locally called Hip Muslim Moms.. though she wore full hijab..:confused3

CRAZY!!! I need my DISNEY!!! FAST!!!

CRAZY!!! I need my DISNEY!!! FAST!!!

WOW!! That was an eventful day!!

Sorry that there is no clear reasoning to your episode - sometimes things happen .. they are scary but sometimes there are no definitive answers. It kind of sux. _ Personally I get flutters, and chest pains from time to time - have gone to the ER because of them, well because my DW makes me. And ... nothing wrong, they kept me for observation once because my BP wouldn't come down. But like you ... no definitive answers as to why, or what caused it. They have mentioned panic attack, or something a long those lines a couple of times, but like you there was nothing that would have triggered such an event.

Sorry that they can't be more clear - hope you are feeling great today. And, it truly does sound like Disney can't come fast enough for ya. You'll be there soon..... :yay:

There's an in-process TR thread involving the AutoTrain. Since they've done it more than once, I'm sure it must be a positive experience. There's a couple on the Dis from Ohio that has taken the train countless time, they love it. That's why I say I'd like to give a try just once again. I'm sure things have improved in 40+ years, right?
