The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Two weeks from right now, we will be arriving at the Boardwalk to check in! :cool1::woohoo::yay:
The suitcases are coming up from the basement today so we can start (yes, I said "start") packing. I have a box of things that I've been setting aside for the past several weeks, but all of the clothes need to be pulled out and packed. I am REALLY trying to pack light this time - - - we'll see how that goes! ;)

We had a fun day yesterday. We met up with several of my college friends at Gillette stadium in Foxboro (my home town) for the UNH vs. UMass football game. We tailgated before the game and got caught up with what everyone's been doing for the past 23 years :scared1: then went into the stadium to see UNH trounce UMass (39 to 13). If only we could get such great seats for a Patriots game! It was a really fun time.:cheer2:

YIPEEEEE! There's a new military ticket offer for now through October 1, 2011 (Cheshire Figment confirms)
It's perrrfect for us, because we only have 4 park days anyways, and I was soo torn about adding Park Hoppers or not. The tickets have either PHs or WP&M required, so no more indecision for me!

Also, I don't have to be as concerned about going over to SoG to buy our tickets the night we arrive. I wanted to at least guarantee a little bit of a discount by going tax-free, but realized how complicated it was going to be since A) we have a baby B) there's no direct transportation to SoG C) we probably won't get checked in to CBR until 7, which is when the MK closes for the Christmas party, so we would have to use a different park to transfer and D) we would need to have dinner somewhere, which would be difficult since we'd be in a hurry. I got an ADR for Ohana, but it was after 9, because there wasn't anything sooner and Kona's dinner doesn't appeal to me. That's when I wanted to have the baby tucked in for our first night, which made it more frustrating.

Coming in really late because I just booked it a little over a week ago....yes its crazy but that is what our jobs are like!

DH and I will be at WL from the 5th-12th. Sooooo looking forward to some down time and some magic!

Any other WLers at that time?

:welcome:

Anyone with Giant Eagle grocery stores in their area, they are having .20 fuelperks when purchasing Disney gift cards!!! :yay::yay::woohoo:

Yep!! But I already bought all my gift cards. Paid for the whole trip with them in fact! That was a lot of free gas!
Well we weren't sure we'd be able to go this yr, but DH's leave got approved so will be in WDW Nov 4-10 staying at SOG for our 5th time. We are super excited. We will be meeting DH's family down there so that shold be lots of fun.:woohoo:

Nope..we are actually trying the autotrain for the first time. We leave the 13th to arrive at BWV on the 14th. .My husband transfered airline miles to Amtrak. We are in for an adventure for sure ;) Not really my idea...but I think the kids are going to love it.:thumbsup2

My parents do the auto train a few times a year. They are leaving Fl on the 19th on it. Are you doing coach or having a room?

Right now we are booked for coach for the ride to FL and in a family bedroom coming home. My husband just transfered more points and we are hoping to be able to switch to a bedroom going down to Fl too..we'll see. I am keeping my fingers crossed..if not we'll deal. THe kids and my husband will sleep fine...I on the other hand am like the princess and the pea...I have a really hard time sleeping.:lmao:

Now I don't want to sound like I'm complaining or anything, but I picked November hoping to get upper 70s and avoid the 80s. The temps in late April and early October really got to me, so I thought November would be better. Goodness, these numbers keep going up every time you post. I guess I won't need to worry about as many pairs of jeans now!

I was noticeing too how the temps are creeping up and up, maybe it is a good thing we had to cancel since I used the lower temps(in the 70's) as my original selling point to DH for going in November this year  If it was too hot I would never have heard the end of DH's complaints:rotfl2:

I officially MAD at WDW... Maggie asked for her birthday and one other day off for the week we are there... they were denied... not only were they denied but the scheduled her to work until 1:30am on her birthday.... which means she will miss dinner with us... MAD doesn't begin to describe how angry I am....

I would be upset too, can she maybe switch hours with someone or don't they allow that?

Amtrack seats are surprisingly comfy. I have traveled twice round trip this year on the overnight and was quite comfortable as were the kids. I am sure the rooms are better but yo uwon't be miserable, at least I don't think.

She is going to try and give the shift away.... but chances aren't good... after all who would want to offer to work until 1:30 in the morning on a Saturday night....

Will keep my fingers crossed there is someone out there who needs the extra money or just has a big heart.

I hope she can find someone to work for her! That won't be a very happy birthday, although it's a good view of what being an adult is like. I used to love my bday, now it usually feels like any other day!
Everyone is getting really antsy here- we were discussing how soon it was! So exciting! I hope that lifting weather forecast lasts until the middle-end of Nov. I am so hoping for warm and being able to swim!

Thanks for this!!:thumbsup2 Makes me feel soooo much better:) Its going to be great either way..we are going to disney right ;)

Wow those temps are crazy!! My neighbor is there right now and has some 90 degree weather in her forecast. I am hoping for high 70's low 80's...that to me would be perfect!
