count me in! we (ds 5 and me) are booked at por 11/7 to 11/13 for our first ever trip!

one question- do you think it is worth going to dhs just to see the osborne lights? we have an free half day towards the end of our trip and if the lights don't start until the 10th, we will miss them on our full day i have scheduled. any chance the lights may start a few days earlier??

great thread. it seems like everyone is going in november! i hope the crowds are as low as predicted...

I would have to say it depends on how much you want to see the OL. For myself it is one of the reasons we are visiting in November, I have my fingers crossed that they show the OL early again this year, We have never been to MVMCP nor seen OL, in fact I opted to do the very first MVMCP :santa: so I could shift plans if need be to see the OL. Right now I tentively have Thurs Nov 11th as our DHS day since my plan is to go to OL while Fantasmic is showing , orignally I was planning on going to Fantasmic but if I get lucky and can see the OL while the crowds are at Fantasmic I will be one Happy Happy Camper:banana:I hope OL start early so you can see them on your planned DHS day too :thumbsup2

:goodvibes It's MAY everyone!! :goodvibes

Another month closer to November and May is our ADR month! :woohoo:

Yessssssssssssssssss! I am still fine tuneing my ADR list, it is hard this trip DS and his wife say they want to do some things with DH and myself but I can't pin them down on exactly what :headache:. They want to do HDDR, we don't we did it last year, they want to do one breakfast with us but have not committed to a day yet as the want to do Seaworld one day, I am in the process now of writting out my complete schedule for the week , gonna give them a copy and say if you want me to make the ressie for 4 let me know before May 12th ! Every time I mention going someplace to eat , they say "oh that sounds good" ........ADR day seemed so far off and now its coming up soooooooooo darn quickly :rotfl2:

AWESOME!!! I've never had a chance to go to this before and the fact that Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is playing on my birthday (our Epcot day)... I foresee an AMAZING 28th Birthday for me! :woohoo:

This may be the 3rd Best Disney trip ever now! (only 3rd to my first WDW vaca and the last trip to WDW I got to take with my mom in 2008)

Congrates on the upcoming Birthday and what sounds like a fantastic way to spend it at the F&W Festival and Eat to the Beat.:thumbsup2

I am new to this thread and actually this whole site! It is fun to browse and is keeping me up at nights learning all the new things and trying to get all the abbreviations straight! We will be visiting Disney November 3-10 and are so excited! Booked MVMCP for November 8 and were soooo excited we won't miss it. We saw it two years ago by accident (way before we knew how much planning Disney actually takes) and loved it, but our kids don't remember it well so hopefully this time around they'll be old enough to not only enjoy it for the night, but remember it!!!
Can't wait to plan with you all!

:welcome: to the DIS and to our thread!!

WELCOME!! :goodvibes

Yes, I absolutely think it is worth going to DHS for the OL!! It is an amazing sight to see! I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will start early again this year. :wizard:

Yay! :thumbsup2
You would think I was doing brain surgery the way that I have been sitting, plotting out our ADR's! Lol

A week or so ago DH says to me, "where are we staying when we go to Disney"? I preceded to tell him for about the hundredth time.
Then today he says "when are we going to Disney"?
I really would not mind so much but I have been talking about this trip since back the end of January when we decided when to go and where to stay.....anyone else feel like no one is listening to them sometimes? :lmao:

I am hoping you all can help me

We are thinking of switching to the week after Thanksgiving I was hoping someone could help me with weather and crowds.

Also will Christmas decorations be up?

Hi there!

Can't help you out with the weather and crowds, but I do know that the Christmas decorations will be up!

We are going Nov.23-28th and staying at OKW. I spent the morning catching up on this thread and finally had to laugh at this post. My husband is the same exact way!!! The only reason he knows are going over TG week is because I give him updates periodically from my countdown ticker. All I can say is good luck from one wife to another. :thumbsup2

I knew someone here could relate :rotfl2:

We went last year on the 5th of Dec-13th...the weather varies..it was kinda cool when we first got there,.like jeans and a tee shirt weather...by mid week it was back up around 80..shorts for sure!!! The crowd was predicted to be low..but it was Pop Warner week so it kept fluctuating....I used TGM and even some of those parks were influenced by that and the Pee Wee Football kids....I guess they can't really predict what parks they will be in each day....It's not wall-to-wall people for PW, but it did make some of the lines a bit longer...and its not true that they are only there in the afternoons..we saw them at all times of day in each park....I wasn't sure if this is the week you mean...haven't checked when Pop is this year...just know that it happens that first full week of Dec.......
Yes....my hubby does the same thing...the only way he remembered last year was because our oldest's bday was on the 4th! While at WDW last year, he talked to some CMs and they said the week before TDay is dead...so we checked into it and that works for us, so that's when we are going back..he already put it in his Blackberry and I will remind him at every 50 day mark....just to keep it fresh! LOL We are at 195 today!!!!!:dance3:

Ha Ha! Yes, I have accused my DH of immediately yawning the last two times I have brought up the trip! In his defense, he loves DisneyWorld just as much as me, it's just all the planning he doesnt get into. I think he just "trusts" me to find the best choices. I narrow things down to a few manageable choices and then he helps me pick. It works great for us! We might be in trouble if we were both big planners! LOL!

thanks for the feedback. from the pics and videos i have seen, it is something i think my son will really like, so we may see you checking out the lights on the 11th as this is our free day. we are also skipping fantasmic. i originally had it on our list of must dos, but the hours of waiting don't sound like a fun way to spend our vacation!

Well...I am at 28 weeks away!!! Actually it's tomorrow..but I may not get on here tomorrow!! That seems soooo far away! But, I only have 2 1/2 weeks until my ADR day!! May is a busy month, so it will fly by! My hubby's bday is next Monday (3rd), then the 9th is Mother's Day, the 10th is my ds10's birthday...plus, my dd has ballet recital on the 22nd, with weekend practices and dress rehearsal. Then on the 17th is my ADR morning!!! Woo Hoo! We have not got any plans for June,,my oldest one's youth group has church camp, but I think he is skipping it this summer...then my middle one has camp mid-July...which we will be nearby! It's out by San Antonio, hubby is driving the bus to & fro, so we are staying in SA and making a little looooong weekend out of it! July and August draaaaggg here..Sept does too..it's just so hot it is misery!!! So, after he gets back from church camp, we will be starting back to school. We usually have our first 8or 9 weeks in by the time our local school starts!!!;) So...do any of you have big summer plans, or are you just staying local and saving for Disney?
We are actually going to Florida for 2 weeks in June! WOOHOO! I am so excited.. first week we are spending the first half visiting family and then Thurs, Fri and Sat at DISNEY!!:wizard: We are surprising my son by taking him there for his 7th birthday... and then that Sunday we set sail for a week cruise.. I am super excited..

Nope, we are not doing LC this time! That last experience there was so terrible that we just aren't interested. . . Plus we have been there the last 3 trips, so it's time to try something new. We are planning to try San Angel Inn. I know it gets mixed reviews, but I have wanted to give it a try for awhile, so we are just going to do it!
We loved San Angel.. we thought it was very very good!:thumbsup2

Right now for me the countdown is on until June. I am currently a surrogate mom carrying a little girl for a very special couple and due June 21st. So getting towards the end of a pregnancy is taking up a lot of my attention right now!! But once the Little Miss is born and goes home with her parents I will be in full countdown mode looking forward to the trip.

What a FABULOUS gift you are giving to someone.. :lovestruc:thumbsup2 We too were very lucky and got PG very easily with our 2 boys.. and I have seen many people go through the agony of fertility issues.. you are an angel!

:rotfl2: oh yes.. I can relate.. except my DH tells me to NOT tell him what we are doing or where we are going until November!

DisneyBound...ooohhhh, you have lots coming up too!! Yay for you getting a cruise!!! i loooove to cruise-only have one under our belts, and not Disney, but i sure did like the one we did! I could just live on a ship..dh, not so much...all that water and no land in sight kinda wigged him out the longer we were there!

We also have this same day planned for DHS.... but Fantasmic is a definite must do for us as noone in my family has ever seen it! Will it be possible to see Fantasmic and still see the Osbourne lights that same day?

It seems to me it would be doable to see both, in fact there is an OL thread on the boards that mentions the CM's routing people over to OL after Fantasmic, I am guessing it would work best on nights they have 2 shows of Fantasmic and so far on Nov 11th they only have one scheduled. My thought of going to see OL while Fantasmic is running is so as to see OL when the crowds are elsewhere...will it work ? Not sure. I want to see Fantasmic too been planning on it so who knows :confused3 all depends on "if" and when they start OL. Alreadydecided not to do the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg in any case since it is a slower time for crowds, if we go will take our chances with getting a seat.
