Good evening all! Been busy this last week at work and have had very little extra time. Had to read about 10 pages to catch up.
Shelly- I wanted to let you know I ordered Celebrations magazine after your recomendation and got my first issue today! My DS11 has had it trying to figure out all the puzzles etc, but it looks great, Thanks!
I also got my DS6's annual pass voucher today (figured I'd order atleast a couple to try and save on the increase that I heard is coming early August)
It was exciting to get 2 cool Disney things in my mailbox (as opposed to all the bills that are usually in there).

How long did it take to get the AP vouchers from when you ordered them? I ordered mine on July 7th and still haven't gotten them!

YEA!!! Im at 4mo!!!! Tomorrow starts with a 3!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Me too! Woohooooo! :banana::woohoo::banana::woohoo::banana::woohoo:
For some reason, the day my ticker starts with a 3, it is a major milestone! Now once I hit double digits, I will be doing a even happier dance! ;)

Hopefully by Nov my belly will be healed up! Dr told me today that I tore it pretty good. Put some durabond on it. They told me to try not to bend to much in the next 2 weeks so it doesn't scar to bad. Uhh... yeah RIGHT! I am a busy body wiggle wort! Not sure me NOT bending is possible. LOL

Good luck! I just had my 8th hernia repaired. I am wearing a huge brace and haven't bent over in 5 weeks now. Even if the doc would let me, the pain wont.

OMG....I'm not at all going to try to respond to everything, but it just took me over 20 pages to get caught up! Y'all have been busy lately!

I do want to send some positive thoughts to all of those who have been dealing with surgery or illness, whether your own or another loved one.

I just noticed yesterday how close the double digits are

I find it comical how Dr's say to do this or don't do this, something like bending is second nature you don't even think about it until there you are bending over , not to mention if you are not suppose to bend over that is when you will drop everything

Mindy- I ordered my voucher late last week, probably Wed or Thurs. If you don't get them soon you might want to call. (maybe it was quicker because I only got one?)
Not sure how everyones kids summer reading is going, but just wanted to put out there for all of you with kids over 10 or so that Rick Riordan's (Percy Jackson) new book Red Pyramid is really good! I read it while my DS11 was finishing an Alex Rider book and once he got his hands on it, he has read over 400 pages in 2 days. (It's about 515 pages) He will be finished today (he actually just came down the stairs from waking up and went right for his book) so I guess it's off to the library later!

Just asked this question on another thread I am on, but thought I would shoot it to you ladies (and gents) as well! I am up for upgrade on my cell phone here in about a month....what phone do you have/had that you just love!!! Mine now is the LG Dare...LG has been awesome(last 2 phones were LG), but I am tired of only having touchscreen...I think I need a keyboard! It is hard to text on that screen...it picks up lots of extra letters and you have to redo lots of what you typed. I have some friends that got the touchscreen only with other types of phones...they aaaall took them back!! So,... I guess it's not just me! It's hard to use. Anyway...whatdya got?!

I have an iPhone and love it... wasn't sure about it... I kept telling my son that I didn't need all that stuff.. the internet.. etc... on my phone... but I love it!!!!

Oh, we won't be there at the same time. We're going the week of Thanksgiving. Our children (DD8 and DN14) in Loudoun County schools have the whole week off because the teachers are having to be furloughed for 2 days. We thought this was a unique opportunity to take the kids for Thanksgiving without having to worry about my nephew missing important work in his freshman year of high school. My son will be in college at Florida Tech, just 1 hour from Disney, so midweek, we'll go pick him up. He only has Wed-Fri off. We will be staying Nov 21-26th at Saratoga, then we're taking a night a Pop. Too many points for the Friday night. We'll drive DS18 back to college sometime on Saturday, then start to drive back home.

Sounds like a great family vacation... its nice that your son will be able to join you!!!!

3 months, 3 weeks, 3 days!

That is all, carry on. ;)

:dancer: now how did he get out? Party on.....

Thanks so much for all of the well wishes. You guys are so kind and caring.:cloud9: I really do appreciate it.

DS16 did well with his wisdom teeth surgery. He had a difficult time in recovery. He cried for 40 minutes and was breathing too quickly. I felt so sorry for him. Dr. said some people can't handle the disorientation that comes with waking up in a strange situation. My son is a jock and the doc said, "the bigger they are, the harder they fall!":goodvibes

Today he is hurting and much more swollen. I'm going to keep him on schedule with his vicodin and ibuprofen to help with that. Doesn't want to eat.

I have my repeat mammogram app.'t this afternoon. Hopefully, I'll know something in a few days. Thanks for all of the encouraging thoughts. Dealing with DS has kept my brain occupied which has been a good thing.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled when I was 19 or 20. I got right up afterwards and walked out to the desk and all I remember was someone asking me if I was alright, next thing I know I am being woke up with smelling salts. :scared: I had passed out. My step-mom had come with me to drive me home, good thing. I guess she caught me right before I would have hit my head on the reception desk. Scary stuff! Getting teeth pulled really messes with you! I hope your DS is feeling better very soon.

Good luck to you this afternoon. :flower3:

Lori...hope he is feeling better today. One thing that bothered me was getting hot...I know it's the dead of summer, but if he can stay cool and still it will help him a lot. If he doesn't want to eat dont make him...but tell him to try and get something down so the meds don't make him sick...and NO STRAWS!!!! I am sure they told you that..but that's my mamma advice for today!!! Ha!!!! Hope your afternoon is stress free-we are thinking of you and praying!

sjs314, I hear you about doctor's orders. Some of us are just plain ornery though. I do not drink, do not care for it, HOWEVER if a prescriptions says 'no alcohol' I get an overwhelming NEED for some. Just glad that chocolate does not counteract any medications, that I know of.:lmao:

When the counter gets closer and closer I get more excited but also more frazzled since I have all the preparations to make and driving to do. I only relax when I see the Welcome sign at Disney.

cyndiloveswalt, thank you for the book suggestions. I have added them to my 'buy' list for my older students next year. It is so hard to find books for boys, especially smart older ones. I figure if they wrote it they would come. They underestimate the skills of our children and bore the smarts right out of them sometimes.

Man, it sounds like an emergency room here. I hope all you that are ailing recover soon and stop hurting. Wish I had a magic wand to help it be so.:wizard:

Slightly Goofy

I hope he is feeling better soon! I know getting mine cut out was worse then the surgery I just had. My mom made me some really yummy smushy potato soup and the banana pudding with vanilla wafer desert. All of it was mushy enough that didn't have to chew and it was easy to eat. I also found even tho I couldn't drink it from a straw, spooning in milkshakes felt awesome!

I hope your mammorgram goes better this go around! Keep us updated.

Ouchie! Be careful!

I overdid a little bit yesterday and now my knee is letting me know. Sheesh. You're so right, when you're used to being able to move around it's so difficult not to.

Im so excited! Just seeing that 3 on the ticker makes my whole day better. We'll be at PO-FQ Nov. 18-26th......I just cant wait!!

New QUESTION OF THE DAY!

What is your favorite water park at Disney and do you go every trip?

We LOVE LOVE LOVE water parks! Once upon a time, I would have said Typhoon Lagoon was my favorite. But since all the sand on the bottom of the wave pool disappeared with the 90s, I hate even going in it. It hurts! We sometimes go there for Crushin Gusher and Shark Reef, but its more like every other trip. We love Blizzard Beach now! It has a much better little big kids area. DD2 stays in it. DH and DD1 stay on the slides. I personally prefer the lazy river! DD2 recently started going down water slides, so I am sure she would enjoy BB more now.

However, this year we didn't get the WPM option on our tickets. And have no plans to go. We have went every year since 04! So it will be odd not to go. DD1 said well maybe we can go on Thanksgiving if everything else is busy. Which is not a bad idea, but I am a bit concerned with the weather. So I guess it would be a last minute decision.

Oh - and the Cell Phone question. DH and I have iPhones. LOVE THEM! But mine is having issues. Since I did the recent upgrade it has been acting insane. DHs is fine. Not sure what is up with that. But it is getting very annoying. I can't wait till they work all the kinks out of the iPhone 4 so I can get it! DDs have the Pantech Impact and they are great phones too!

:banana::dance3::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
ha!!!! I really start feeling at this point like I need to start checking over all my stuff, ADRs, park plans...it's hard not to start obsessing at 3...

I KNOW! I even got out my stuff from past vacations, inc. receipts from the dining plans, boarding passes, KTTW cards, etc. Now I'm rethinking ADRs. I'm going to be making a countdown calendar for DGD10 and have a list of grab bag items I need to get....when she pulls the Mickey head off (that sounds awful!) each day, she'll be able to reach into the bag and chose something vacation related. What am I doing sitting here? I better get busy with this stuff.

We are not water park folks... well at least some of us are not.. DD and DH has NO desire to go at all...DS and I would go.. but we don't because the other two don't want to... maybe some time DS and I will go...

Thanks so much for all of the well wishes. You guys are so kind and caring.:cloud9: I really do appreciate it.

Poor DS... hope he is feeling better soon.... We used bags of frozen peas to help my DD when she had her teeth pulled... they conform to the face really well... it helped with the swelling

Good luck with your mamo...
