We got ours tonight and I'm flipping through it and was like "Hey!! I know that cutie!!!"

They're adorable pictures -- they did a collage of all the "hat" pictures! I'll take it to work and scan it tomorrow for you -- PM me your email address :-)

Ack! I'm a thread killer!

Kelly -- in my sleep deprived haze this morning, I totally ran out the door without my Disney Files magazine. I'll bring it tomorrow to scan. Sorry! :upsidedow

Oooh, boy, what I wouldn't give to go crawl back into bed.

Mel- V only wakes up during the night when she's teething (generally), so maybe some teething relief?

*sigh*- two more days at my current branch. I'm really going to miss them. And apparently- the branch I'm going to is all full of women-drama (you know: nice to each other's faces, but watch out!). I have no interest in drama. And I'll be glad to explain that to them. ;)

It's funny- I live in a really small town, and it's the kind of place where everyone knows everyone's business. And of course, the bank is chock full of gossip.

Some of the things people tell their bank tellers I will never understand. In my 1 1/2 years at the bank, I have heard about people's sex lives, family affairs- one lady told us that her ex-husband slept with his sister!! AND he's a customer too! SO now every time I see the guy I just shudder. One lady we have is kind of, well- let's just say she isn't the brightest crayon in the box. Anyway- she has a crush on the local priest. She calls him "Peanut." As in, "Have you seen Peanut? He's so cute. He probably thinks I'm weird." Um- yeah: I bet he does. :lmao: One customer is a stripper, and she gave us tickets to go see her show! Sure, ok! That's definitely how I'm going to spend my Saturday night. We've called the police on her for drunk driving so many times she no longer has a license.

People really are fascinating.

That's ok Mel!! :goodvibes I am hoping mine comes today!! If not, you can bring it tomorrow to scan! ;)

Does anyone have the DVC fall newsletter/magazine? There are 5 small pics of Brady in it!!!

How exciting - post the scanned pics if you can! :thumbsup2

I told my mom about my transfer, but I haven't broken it to her that I'm finding someone else to watch V yet. It's gonna be ugly. :sad2: But, good news- I did find someone! My new manager's wife is going to do it.

That's great that you found somebody to watch V already, good luck breaking the news to your mom!

Colin's decided that waking up during the night is FUN :scared: and has done it every night since Sunday. Blech. I'd like to know where the kid who used to sleep through the night without a peep went!?!

And, I know I'm fostering bad habits, because I just want to get back to sleep, so I pop a bottle in to settle him down (after a bum change, of course!)

Maybe he's going through a growth spurt? It seems a little late, but it's possible. That was the only time Alex got up in the middle of the night after 2 months unless he was sick.

****************

I am so with you girls being ready for the weekend! Work has been so stressful this week! But at least I get to go home tomorrow after noon, after 1 final boxing match!

Sorry to hear about your BIL. And I know how you feel about needing RL friends with kids. I had a few before we moved, but I haven't made any here yet, and just can't seem to find the time with my current schedule. Plus my babysitter found out that most of the mothers in our current neighborhood are LDS, and I just don't think we'll have much in common. I'm hoping it will be easier when we move into our new house.

LDS???? Should I know what that means? I am kind of scared ....

I am taking a nap when Alexander goes down for a nap!!

OKAY ... HIS SISTER??? As in the girl he was in the same womb with (well you know what I mean)????? EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW That goes beyond EWWWWWW

I'm hoping this was Noah's problem. The last week he'd just start screaming in the middle of the night by the time I could get down the hallway to his room though he was back to sleep. Good for him but not so good for me as I was alreayd jolted out of bed. LOL Last night he slept without a peep so I'm feeling very refreshed today. He has been eating like crazy lately so maybe it is a growth spurt.

Alexander has started doing that a few times a week. I tried to let him CIO a little but it's a cry/screaming different from others. When I get him he seems freaked out and I think it's night terrors. Even cuddles from mommy don't help, I have been bringing him to our room if DH is still awake or out to the living room to wake him up with the lights on. Once he fully wakes up he seems to snap out of it better and then he'll go right back down but if I try to bring him in before that he freaks out.

Sorry, it's really common around here, LDS = Latter Day Saints (like Mormons). I don't think there are very many in FL, and no reason to be scared of them, it's just that my family is catholic and we are like heathens in their eyes.

Ok, I did not catch that - gross - so Jerry Springer! :eek:

That's scary. My SIL said their son has been having night terrors for awhile, but I don't know what they do for it. Every once in awhile I hear Alex scream or whimper in the middle of the night, but he usually goes right back to sleep on his own.

DVCsince02 - I have meaning to comment on Evan....he is so freakin' cute!!! :goodvibes Love his little outfit!!!

Mel - Sorry to hear about Colin waking up during the night. I second maybe teething? I know Brady has been cranky lately and not sleeping as well due to some teeth popping-through. I think as long as you don't give a bottle every night, it's fine. ;)

Becky - Holy cow!!! That's some interesting stuff you hear!!! :rotfl:

Pollito - I still don't have my issue of the magazine. Mel said she may scan it for me to see tomorrow!

DMickey - Brady did the same exact thing a few nights back. He woke up screaming like crazy - and wouldn't snap out of it until I brought him into our bedroom with the lights on. He must have been having a bad dream or something...it's like he was crying, yet half-asleep. He would only go back down once he was fully awake and out of it. Poor little guys....imagine not having the words to explain it or know what's going on?! :(

Off to go watch Grey's Anatomy!! I'm so excited it's back on!! :happytv:

Ah, LDS... I was wondering about that too!

Well, one more day at my branch. My new supervisor called me today, though- and I felt so bad for her. She just found out the baby she is/was carrying is dying, it has trisomy 13. :sad1: So, she's going to be gone all week and wanted to call and give me the heads up and let me know where stuff is so I can get settled in. She lives in the same town as me, so I think I am going to send her some flowers. I feel so bad for her- she had just told everyone because she was out of her first trimester. :guilty:

In other news, Saturday we are going to the consignment sale! :cool1: I can't wait. I have built it up like it's some sort of holiday or something. :rotfl: I'm hoping to buy cheap outdoor toys, maybe some clothes, and who knows.

Sunday is DH's birthday. Not sure what we're doing yet. He spent his birthday money on the speeding ticket he got. :laughing: (Just kidding. Although I have been giving him crap about it). Besides, the ticket was $175, and I wasn't going to spend THAT much.

Wow Becky....that is awful. :sad1: I can't even imagine....I'll say some prayers for her. :hug:

So...a little background...Brady doesn't like to wear anything on his head. He is NOT a hat-wearer at all! Part of his costume requires him to wear a huge hat-thing on head. So, we have been doing some Halloween training - wearing the hat-thing around the house each day. And it's working!!! He will wear it for long chunks of time now!!! Can you guess what he will be?!?! ;)

CIMG0645.jpg

Kelly- Chubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff? :) Brady just has the most kissy-looking cheeks.

Well, I just got off the phone with Cheryl, the woman who is going to watch Vaylie. I am really excited! I feel really good about it, not so apprehensive. I have Tuesday off, so Vand I are going to go over there and meet her and I'm going to let V get used to the place. She asked that I bring her paperwork with her name, birthday, doctor, emergency numbers, likes/dislikes, etc. She is very reasonable in the $$ area.

This is a big relief. HUGE. I told her tonight when we talked that I have never had anyone watch V that wasn't family and that, truth be told, I was nervous. She was very reassuring. Plus, their house is literally just blocks away from where I'll be working, so, that makes me feel better.

I have worried so much about not being able to find someone decent (it's scary out there!). But, my inlaws have known their family for years (FIL went to school with my manager, Cheryl's husband). And SIL's cousin takes her little one there. I'm not worried about V, because she's a pretty easy-going, adaptable kid. She never really has been clingy, although she's always ready to go home when she sees Mommy or Daddy. :coud9

DVCsince02, Evan is adorable! So cute! Sometimes I can't believe Owen was ever that small, and it's not like it was all that long ago!

Becky, I'm so glad you've found a good sitter for Vaylie. And I'm so sorry to hear about your supervisor losing her baby. That's so hard. :sad1:

Kelly, I want to see the pics of Brady in the DVC magazine, too! You'll have to scan it and post them here when you get to see them.

Mel, I'm sorry Colin's waking up in the night. Hopefully that will get better soon!

And Hi to everyone else!! :goodvibes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Owen is adjusting to the crib much faster than I was expecting, although now when he wakes up he starts to play with his pacifiers and the crib bumper rather than just going back to sleep. :rolleyes: Plus we think he's crawling and rolling all over the crib like it's a new play space rather than a bed, based on what we're hearing over the monitor. Since he used to sleep cuddled up in a hammock, the crib must feel enormous to the little guy! :) I think the transition went so well because his nap/bedtime routine didn't change, just the bed that he's sleeping in.
Well, I've decided that I can't keep watching these two kids long term, no matter how much I'd like the extra $. They are good kids, but it's much harder to take care of kids when I don't have any prior relationship with them or their parents. All the other kids I've taken care of are family friends, and I've been able to discipline the kids with pseudo-parental authority because we know each other so well. The family is nice, but in just one week I've bumped into several places where the parent's style is different from mine and it's been hard to know how to handle the discipline issue. It just added up to more work than I was expecting, and it's been a stressful week. I did tell the parents that I can keep watching the kids after school through the week before thanksgiving, because I don't want to leave them without childcare and I know it's hard to make new arrangements. DH has agreed that it's the right decision, but it was still hard to do. I hate letting people down. :guilty:
Becky, talking about your consignment sale coming up reminded me of the great find from our sale a couple weekends ago....
Isn't it great! We got it for $6!!!! I have no idea what it sells for on the DCL, but I just love it! Owen has already chewed on Goofy's ear and Mickey's foot. :laughing:
And finally, some photos of Owen...
Owen and Mommy on Owen's first visit to the beach. I love his crabby hat!
This is when I was taking pictures of Owen with his Bywater dragon to show how he'd grown. It was really hard to get Owen to sit still, and he kept giving me this funny look like "what are you doing, Mama?" :rotfl:
Man ... I just lost my whole post ... crap. sorry guys, I'll come back and address everyone later.
Alexander got sick last night. All over his crib, himself, his toys, his blanket, himself again, the floor in his room, the living room and then the kitchen. It was horrible, poor kid. I don't know if it's a bug, I felt a little funky yesterday but better now, and he's ok today. He had bad diapers all through the early morning and finally settled down around 10am. I ended up throwing a mattress on the floor in his room and slept with him. We finally fell asleep for more than 10 minutes at a time by 4am. He is now napping for the last three hours after having some water, toast, egg and cheese and kept it all down. ARGH ... poor thing. I opened a new can of Enfamil last night so we are worried that was messed up too. I am going to get a new can tonight but i don't know that we will have that yet tonight or wait until tomorrow. i am making him some homemade chicken noodle soup right now for when he wakes up. I hope it's passing ...
This was the first real big boy throw up we have had to deal with. I personally DO NOT throw up, haven't since food poisioning in 2001. I hope I don't end up getting this if it's a bug this weekend. I figure since I was feeling yucky yesterday that if I was going to be sick to it would have happened already.
well first full week at new job has been good so far, just learned about a water assisted lipo machine and procedure.....lol....they can take the fat from your lipo and immediately turn it around and give you a breast aug with it! I wonder if i get to sign up as a volunteer for any of the training exercises? :lmao:
Have a busy weekend ahead- swim class tomorrow, gotta wash the car and head to parents house to get Will fitted for his tux over in their area (for sister's wedding) and see my neice's soccer game. then a retirement party for a family friend. Thankfully Sunday consists of hanging out with Will and watching the cowboys. DH is going to the game.
Kelly- how awesome that Brady is in the mag!!! he looks so cute in his 'head'!
DMickey- how scary on the your BIL! hope he is ok. Hope your little guy is okay. that stomach bug has been going all around here.
Bethany- Will has that same day at the beach onsie. lol....Owen looks so cute!
Becky- lol at the bank customers. hope the transfer goes well- i don't do drama in the work place either. How horrible about your supervisor.....that is just heartbreaking. after all the fertility issues i faced, i never dealt with a loss and I can't imagine how difficult that is. give her hugs for me! :grouphug:
Mel- no real advice on the middle of the night wakings.....Will does it on occassion, but usually puts himself back to sleep. i try and avoid giving a bottle at all costs. i don't want him to expect it and then he might wake up automatically thinking it is bottle time. If he isn't going back down- i usually will pat his back, check his temp, try tylenol or teething stuff. it's a pain i know. i hope it gets better.
QUESTION OF THE DAY
what are you dressing your kiddo up as for Halloween, if you celebrate it? Will you take them 'trick or treating'?
I feel silly taking a one year old that can't walk to get candy. I might take him to a few neighbor houses, but that's it. If we had older siblings, i would take him, but with just him, i don't think so???? We will dress him up and answer the door all night and also dress him up the next day for his birthday party (pirate themed- pirate costume).
Gotta say, I never understood plastic surgery until now, when almost-post-nursing I'm a floppy almost-C cup on one side and a flabby B cup on the other! :lmao: Not to mention the suddenly ginormous hips, bum, and thighs...like where did those come from?! Not that I was a stick before, but good heavens! I'm now several sizes larger in the behind than I am in length on my pants! Something seems horribly wrong with the universe when this is the result of 9 months of suffering in pregnancy... :rotfl2:
We probably won't take Owen out trick-or-treating, except to visit a few friends. Most of the people we know in the neighborhood will either be at the big Superhero/supervillian party at our friends house, or they'll stop by on their trick or treating route. We'll be at the party helping hand out treats, so we'll hopefully get to see everyone.
And I've decided that I have to go with the party's theme, so Owen is going to be dressed as Rufus (the naked mole rat) from Kim Possible so he'll match DH and I. DMIL is horrified because it means Owen will be clothed head to toe in pink. :rotfl: I'm going to find a pink snowsuit on ebay (something with a hood and feet), and then hot glue on gray felt to make Rufus' paws, and other felt to turn the hood into Rufus' face. Still not sure how to do the tail - maybe make one out of felt and sew it on the butt of the snowsuit. I've got most of my KP costume already (hooray for Goodwill!) and DH was going to be Ron Stopable, but now he wants to be Dr. Drakken. :rolleyes: Where on earth am I going to find a big blue trenchcoat and blue pants?!? :confused3 Not to mention that we also need a black mullet wig! :lmao: We should have picked easier superheros and supervillians... :laughing:
