TALK ABOUT A STOPPING OF THE HEART!!! :faint Want to know the strange thing???? This Sunday was supposed to have been my Sunday off, but manager messed up my schedule, so I was working and hubby had to work too, so I took Mo to the sitter's this morning before heading to work and look what happened. I could have been home when this happened!!!! I would have just lost it I think. All is fine. A little leak on the inside, but this particular spot has been patched before and it's time for the landlord to REALLY fix it. She's a GREAT landlord and knowing I have a 6 month old in the house, she'll take care of everything.

Here's something even funnier....the weather that caused this came out of nowhere! I left the house at 10am and a hour and a half later I get this phone call. When I got there, I asked my neighbor what the hell happened and she said it was like a little mini hurricane blew through Crestview. :scared1:  Two sets of neighbors instantly were concerned for me and Mo. The husband's came out to make sure we weren't home and if we were that we were okay. Isn't that awesome?? :goodvibes The tree if off the roof now and I was told by the guy who did it, had we not have responded as quickly as we did, it would have been through the roof. There would have went HALF the stuff in my living room including Mo's little activity center and I just CANNOT do without that. Oh yea....one of the trees that fell.....had it been about 2 feet longer, would have crushed the neighbor's car! :faint:

The good part of all of this.....oh....there's a good part......:rotfl2: ....I did go back to work and my manager said, to clean some tables and they would give them to me. My two tables that I was waiting on before I left, the money was left in the office for me. SO...I waited on 4 tables and made $100!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: I then went to Walmart and gave them $80 of it! :lmao: HOWEVER, that's what the money was needed for anyway, DH's birthday gifts and some necessities for Mo. :)

SOOOO.....WHAT ELSE can I POSSIBLY have happen????? NEVERMIND G-d....don't answer that! :rotfl: :lmao:

Ohhhhhh....good question Nicole!

If Brady had been a girl, he would have been Kendall Faith. Kendall because we just liked it, and Faith after my mom.

Funny enough, I'm not a huge fan of Kendall anymore, so if we have a girl next, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't use it. I actually don't know what we would use if we had a girl. If we have a boy, it will most likely be Mason Scott. Mason because we just like it, and Scott after my DH.

If Erin had been a boy, I wanted the name to be Wolfgang. I know, it is terrible, but I was obsessed with calling the baby Wolfie! I also tinkered with Viggo, so glad we had a little girl! We had no name picked out, so I went with Erin, so her initials are EEL! Crazy!

Wow Denise! Glad everything turned out okay! We have a huge tree on our back yard that I am just waiting for a hurricane to take out! Living here in "hurricane alley" we are definitely over due for a big one.

The baby-falling must be catching! Christopher has just figured out how to push himself up a step, and decided to show this new skill off to everyone yesterday. Unfortunately, he got all excited, and forgot to pull his legs all the way up. He sat up, and over he went. He didn't get hurt, but from the screaming, you'd have thought someone was ripping off his fingernails. (He likes the whole audience idea.... :) )

Denise - holy cow! Thank gosh you guys weren't home. At least a house is easily fixed.

So for the question of the day - if Christopher was a girl, we were leaning towards Kathleen Elaine, and calling her Katie. Kathleen for my mom, and Elaine for DH's mom. If we have another boy, we both kind of like Nicholas Edwin (we have to get an Edwin in somewhere for my dad, and it doesn't really go with much, you know?)

How scary about the tree! Holy moses!!

I hear ya on kids going "over board". Big brother, 17, taught Aiden to dive head first off of stuff, the couch is a favorite (it sits low to the ground), and has on many attempts, tried to head dive off our bed (which is NOT low to the ground).

Yesterday (Sunday) must have been the day for Daddy's to be... short tempered/spacey. Dh, who normally is super attentive, was playing his game (which he rarely does) and did not do his share of helping :( One of has one, one has the other normally. We switch off with the kiddos on the weekends.
It wouldn't be such a big deal, but when he hands off little girl, who seems to be starving (FTR, she is always "starving LOL, she eats more then DS did at that age, she eats quite a bit, round the clock), DS also seemed to be ready to eat, both needed a diapy change... Both wanted attention, at once, of course! I admit I got short tempered with dh, which rarely happens (it does, but not over the kids). :)

I haven't been here in a while. 2 kids, under 1 (OK, ds #2, Aiden turned 1 on May 28th), one kid teething, little miss is awake more often and wants attention 100% of her being awake. Much different from both my ds! They were always happy to do their own thing a lot of the time.

Aiden is on the verge of walking... He stands up with out using anything, stands for several minutes at a time, he took one step today. He just doesn't seem to get the "walking" bit.
He is however, starting to imitate us, or the stuff he sees on Gullah Gullah Island (the only show he watches, or will watch). Today he put his thumb up to his mouth, and blew, pretending like they did on Gulluh Island to blow a horn or sax or whatever they were playing (they were pretending too). I laughed and laughed. He is also starting to say words. He says BAYBEEEEEE, AIDDDDEEEEE, DAAAAAAAADEEEEEEEEE, MOOOOOOMEEEEE, KITTTTTTEEEEEE (notice a trend here?? LOL). He says "What's That???". I am trying to teach him please and thank you, but it isn't going too well. I just repeat it. Eventually he'll get it. If we tell him to be gentle, he will lay his head on whatever or kiss it LOL. Too cute. :D Or if we say dangerous, he'll back off. :)

Little Miss, aka Lydia Grace, is awake more often, she is talking to us and smiling. :D She holds her head up like a champ (she was born April 7th, but not due until May 15th, so she would be 1.5 months old if I took that into consideration, even going by being almost 3 months old, she is doing what she should or surpassing it (according to the online sites). I know the sites are not 'perfect', but it's nice to have guidelines). Now if she'd only sleep through the night. Thankfully she only wakes 1-2x between 10p and 8am. She normally wakes from 8-10am, naps, and is asleep by 10pmish.

A few new photos from this weekend. :) Daddy and Aiden were hanging, trying to nap. Aiden doesn't sleep with us anymore, as he moves too much. Drives me mad. He rotates like a clock LOL. Lydia does too. She does sleep with us for part of the night if she wakes up.
The photos of Lydia are of her and big brother Joe. He was tickling her and making her laugh. It was too cute. He *adores* both kids. He kills me, he said he thinks he'll live at home until the kids are ready for college. He just doesn't think he could not live around them (he's wanted siblings since he was around 7 or 8.). I highly doubt he will (he best not!) but it is cute to hear him say it.
The itty bitties and I are going back to Alaska in the next week or so. DS 17 has no desire to go. DS said we can only be gone so long, if we're gone longer, I am to send his siblings back to him LOL, and I can stay. Cracked me up *yeah I humor easily*.

Rachel- Aiden was born on my birthday!! Hooray! So, are you moving back to alaska?

OT- I watched the movie Waitress last night- it is so good. And I stayed up waaaay too late trying to finish it: we rented it and didn't have time to watch it, so dh burned it to be watched later. And last night we finally put it in, and the DVD is messed up for like, the last 1/2 hour! :headache: So, I had to search the net until I could find it free online to watch, and I finally did: it had Japanese subtitles and took about 1 1/2 hours to finish THE LAST 30 MINUTES, but I was on a mission and could not stop until I had seen the end. So, now I've only had 4 hours of sleep. :sad2:

I am such an idiot. I will pay for this later today. :upsidedow

Denise! OMG! I think I would have freaked either way! So sorry about the tree. Hopefully it's all cleaned up, and back to normal, soon.

Yesterday was a big day for Miss Amanda Joy! Amanda Joy got her first experience with fireworks last night! Friends of ours invited us to a big display at their church. It was so much fun! And I have to say, that little Miss Amanda did AWESOME! Of course I covered her ears for most of it, especially during the ones that seemed to screech! Very cool, but annoying to hear!

Earlier in the day, she decided to do this:
P1000571-1.jpg

She's still a bit wobbly, but such a big girl!!! :)

How is Izzy doing?? I can't imagine how scary that must have been.

Denise, wow! I'm glad no one was hurt.

Look at Amanda Joy!!! She is doing so goo

I think Brady still looks cute as can be.

As for the other days' QOTD. Originally, Spencer was going to be Preston Charles (Charles is my dad's middle name and my FIL's first name). However, DH decided he like Spencer better, so we went with Spencer Charles.

If he were a girl, he was going to be Sophia Kaylyn (Kay is my mom's middle name and Lyn is my and my MIL's middle name).

Denise- very cute! How's the tree? And, more importantly, your house? Hopefull things will be back to normal sooner than later!

HollyJoy- Amanda Joy looks so adorable. I'm nervous about the 4th- I'm not sure if Vaylie will freak or like the fireworks... She'll be tired, at any rate, being up so late. And, we have that little photo album that Amanda Joy has in the bottom picture, and I have been too lazy to put pictures in it. :( I need to do that.

Nicole? How's Izzy doing?

Hey everyone. I just wanted to pop in and say Hi. It's been a crazy past few months with hopefully a light at the end of the tunnel in another month or so between a ruined basement and just other random craziness. We've been super busy. But I have lurked here when I get a minute. Everyone's little ones are just getting so big!! And adorable! I think we have more than our share of adorableness with all the DIS kids.

TREE IS GONE! :cool1: They worked in the rain today to get it done. House is fine, but tree did cause more damage than expected. Had our neighbor not called when she did, things would have been MUCH worse. Landlord is going to put a metal roof on. :yay:

How scary about the tree! Holy moses!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Want to know what that's SO funny???? My son's name is Moshe and that's Hebrew for who you all know as Moses! Interesting you typed that phrase in response to MY post! :lmao:

Hi Guys...sorry I have been MIA. I had a huge hearing going on at work today and since I was out of the office Friday cause of Izzy's accident - I ended up having to work all day Sunday and early this morning - luckily hearing went well and I won and won big!! My client is psyched!

Izzy is doing great -- she started getting back to normal Sunday afternoon - she was using her arm again and today she seemed like her old self!! Thank God!! That could have been much worse.

I have missed alot around here lately (and I wasn't even gone that long)!!

Denise -- WOW -- amazing stuff with the tree -- glad everyone is okay! Scary pictures. Love Mo's bib though.

Kelly -- Brady is simply the cutest little boy. I like his new military haircut -- he is so cute his hair does not matter. But you must have been furious -- I would have been too. I keep telling my MIL and SIL that I don't want Izzy's hair cut at all and I want to grow it long cause I am scared they will just cut it some day while watching her.

Jen - I don't want to hear about any more of our adorable children falling - it is just too scary. Glad to hear Christopher is okay though.

Hi Meredith and Lachesis and Syreal (nice to see you Syreal!!)

Holly -- Amanda is getting SO big -- and is very cute!! Did the fireworks scare her at all? We wanted to take Izzy but were afraid the loud noise would scare her -- Amanda liked the fireworks though?

Hi Disneygirl -- I like the name Kaylyn -- sounds pretty - and nice combo to the 2 moms!

Becky - you crack me up -- all the time. You are to the Moms Board what Carla was to the TTC board -- you are very funny!! So - was the Waitress movie good - was it worth staying up late...and watching it in Japanese!! Too funny!!! I am not a big fan of Keri Russell so I have been avoiding watching it -- but I have heard good things about it. Should I cease my self imposed - imposed for absolutely no good reason - Keri Russell ban and watch it?

Okay -- so back to the QOTD - sorry for Monday's absence. This question is intended to cover the rest of Monday and all of Tuesday...a new question will be posted again on Wednesday. And by the way...for what its worth...when I was staring at Izzy sleeping this weekend and watching for any sign of a problem and basically having nothing to do but stare at her...I wrote out about 50 QOTD -- so I have a whole list of them - ready to go - so you guys had better be prepared.

As the coffee talk lady on Saturday Night Live said...talk amongst yourselves!

(Monday & Tuesday) Question of the Day: Did you cry when your child(ren) were born... (and crying is defined as either bursting into tears or just one little soap opera tear running down your cheek) as soon as they came out? (by the way - crying is not defined in this insance as crying days later when you were functioning on no sleep and *they* would not stop crying...because we ALL cried then!!)

:goodvibes Thanks. And I miss Carla. What the heck happened to her, anyway? When I first started the TTC thread, oh, forever and 1/2 ago (seriously- it was started in like, March or April of 2006!!!), we talked all the time, and laughed and cried through her IVF. I seriously used to pray every night that I would get pregnant, and then add- "And Carla too!" She had such a rough go if it. I know she had a baby girl, had hyperemesis (like me!), and then got pregnant (surprise!! ) on her own, but I haven't heard much since.

And yes- get over your ban-for-no-reason and watch the movie; it really is a good one! ;)

I cried, nay, bawled the minute I heard Vaylie's first cry. It was hard because I couldn't see anything but curtain (c-section), but my doc lifted her up and I heard that precious, teeny-tiny cry. I'm getting a little weepy thinking about it now. :lovestruc I had never heard anything so amazing, so beautiful, so fragile, and so wanted.

Not many moments in life are so perfect and memorable.

I cried for two reasons: The first is the usual - so very happy to have Owen and finally see him and hold him. :cloud9:

The second: I had just suffered through 22 hours of back labor and the epidural didn't work. I was throwing up at least twice every hour, and they couldn't do anything for the pain. I don't really remember the last 2 hours of labor - just that my back hurt so horribly that I just wanted them to knock me out and get the kid out anyway they could. His heart rate dropped at the end and they had to do an emergency forceps delivery, and all I remember is a sudden rush of people in the room and someone telling me to listen to her voice and push when she said to. As soon as he came out, the epidural started working and I couldn't feel a darn thing for the first time in 22 hours. I started crying then...because I was so relieved to finally be out of pain! :rotfl:

No, I didn't cry for either delivery.

QOTD: I did not crycry but did shed a few tears quietly. I am not outwardly very emotional ...

I did not cry at my actual c-section..I was so relieved the hear my doctor say on the other side of the curtain "they look good!" (since they were 6 weeks early)
I did get teary a little 8 hours later when I actually got to go up to NICU and hold my babies for the first time!

Nope no crying for me either. Dh laughed since I had a c-section I was all into what was going on in the room and asking lots of questions about stuff. DH asked if I ever let the technical mind of mine rest. LOL
