:rotfl: Sorry about that! I'm admittedly a bit freaky about head injuries because that's how my mom died.

Omigod Bethany....I am so sorry! (((hugs))) Um, ya, I would be the same way if I were you! Was she acting fine and then something happened? If you don't want to talk about...no worries.... I am just curious.

It's been almost 10 years now, and I still miss her (especially since Owen was born), but I don't mind talking about it. My mom had many psychological issues, primarily Disociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as multiple personalities), so what happened is she tripped going down the stairs and fell and hit her head, but then my dad and sister couldn't tell the difference between the head injury symptoms and the DID characteristics that were often present. When my mom finally became coherent enough again to tell my dad to take her to the hospital, it was too late. :sad1: My dad has blamed himself for years for not knowing all the symptoms of a head injury. There were a few that were different from the usual DID stuff, but dad didn't recognize them so he just took care of her as if she were having a DID episode. We all tell him it wasn't his fault, and I think he understands that more now.

He's remarried to a wonderful woman who was my mom's best friend and I used to call her "my second mom" when I introduced her to my friends as a kid, so it's been great having her "officially" in our family now. She has 5 kids and we all grew up together and were best friends, and I think my mom would be very happy to see us all together. :angel:

On a lighter note, check out the t-shirts E. made for our trip! He did it so on the front it looks like we have a CM name tag. I'm Kanga, and Owen is Roo. E. is Pooh, M. is Tigger, and their DD(3) is Piglet. I love them!

JEN- sorry about the stubborn lady at the library- geez, as if you don't have it hard enough trying to prepare his food special for him. like you choose that. morons!

Bethany- wow, only 2 days? the ziplocs are a great idea, i am definitely doing that when we go in december. sorry about all the hotel junk going wrong- i would just pack the mesh thing. i can't wait to hear all about your trip. how long are you staying again? i want to see lots of pics. i've only been to DL once and it was like 15 years ago.

Kelly- yes, i hate the new 90 day ADR thing. we really plan our trips around meals- we are doing the dining plan and eating at least one sit down meal a day. so it makes it hard to plan with a shorter window like that. luckily we aren't going christmas week, but week before. still will be somewhat busy. hopefully we get all we want- we are booked with Dreams, so they make all our ressies for us- although i guess we could call as well just in case and cancel immediately after if Dreams gets it? although i don't want to double book and steal a time from someone else. I can't believe Brady is going on the potty- when did you start? when should you start? I was thinking about that the other day.

Meredith- the twins are growing up! I wouldn't worry too much- cheer up!! i think they are adorable and growing just fine.

Jenny- yeah for Noah's molar. Will has two now and man there were some bad days when those came in. hang in there!

Becky- yeah on being more clean! and i can't wait to hear about the projector- it sounds so cool.

Pollito- happy birthday ALEX!!!! I have that 'mommy's little monster' shirt for Will too. how funny. target or old navy!

Nicole- yeah for mommy's day alone and winning $700. definitely was a good time then. when is the vegas trip?

Dmickey- any pics from the beach?

Denise- hi!! how is Mo?

Ash- still thinking of you guys.:grouphug:

Will is just growing and growing. Here is his blog with pics
http://williamreed1.blogspot.com/
we got him a little playground that he loves. He is really into his books lately too. he is just such a good boy. I have to go to San Francisco march 5-9 for five days. i hate being away so long from him. then i have my DIS podcast cruise in may- i'll be leaving him and DH for almost 7 days then. Work is still really busy, but finally getting a handle on things. some days i just wish i had a mindless job with no responsibility. :laughing:

oh and on the weight issue. i think we all struggle with it- most of us anyhow. but i find the older i get, the less of an issue it is. i guess we all just learn to have some self esteem in our old age? :goodvibes or maybe not care as much.

i do have some weight i want to lose as well. i put on 15lbs of fertility drug weight that still needs to come off. i am happy where i am, it's not terrible, but i'd like to be in better shape. i have the cruise in may and want to look okay in a bikini- i got a tink one on sale online! :lmao: :thumbsup2 It's a struggle though. DH just started a diet contest with some online car friends- they took before pictures already. he is cutting out all fried food, sugars and most carbs. plus running his tail off. so that will help me eat better too. i struggle to find time for the gym. i don't hate going, i just don't have time.

i leave for work at 8am- pick up Will at 5:30. i do try and go to pilates twice a week at 7;30, when DH makes it home in time. he isn't home until 7pm most nights. and i hate taking time away from spending with my son too. so it is hard. i did go at lunch on monday. as work slows some, i am hoping to go at lunch at least on mon/wed and maybe friday. i gotta find a way to MAKE the time. it's hard though.

so hugs and encouragement to all those out there working to drop those pounds. the scale isn't as bad as my clothes not fitting- i hate that!! i am waiting to buy cruise clothes until i drop weight. that is my motivation!! lol

Denise - I am so glad you found that daycare. I hope Mo likes it. At the very least it will give you the mommy breaks when you need it!!

Michelle - I hear you on the comfort with the weight. I know I should do something about it but in general I am pretty happy. The good news is with my mom here, I am starting to eat a lot better!! And, of course I have pictures from the beach.

Kelly - I hope your head feels better. I am sure you are fine and if it was anything serious you would have known.

Jen - I am sorry about the stinky librarian. You can imagine how she would feel if she were in your shoes or had to deal with it in her own life ... she's just clueless how idiotic she was. HUGS ... :hug:

Bethany - I LOVE the t-shirts! I am so excited for you. My DH is going to Orlando on the 2nd of March and staying at the Gaylord, right off property for work. He keeps asking me if I am SURE I don't want to go and go to WDW with Alexander. If he doesn't stop asking soon, I am going to crack!! I would rather put the money towards our Myrtle Beach trip with my family in APril though ... and by the time I get park tickets, food and boarding the dog I could easily spend $500.

Becky - I am sure you won't be infertile from the IUD but I think it's a good idea to get it taken out!! I hate that I went back on BCP's after Alexander was born. Stupid ... On the plus side "O" should be this weekend so I am just freaking out over BD timing!! Nice huh? My temps have been awesome though ... super stable since starting the Lunaception.

We found a really nice beach up in Delray Beach. I hadn't driven up the coast there before. The town is sooo cute and there are tons of little parks with parking and then beach was really nice. It was low tide and had a lot of sand bars so he could play in the waves without getting too deep. He did so good, we bought a few beach toys and he had a blast sitting in the sand and then running down to the water. I was so proud of him ... he never once just ran reckless in to the water like he was doing on Sunday with DH. It was such a perfect day. It reminded me of the advantages of living down here ... I get so sucked into the daily routine that I don't take advantage of that stuff.

So I called my doc today and went in to be seen re: my head. They said I have post-concussive syndrome, and that many of symptoms (feeling in a daze...no appetite...hard to focus) are due to this. He said it could last for up to a week, and to get lots of sleep and rest. I told him I have a toddler, and that getting lots of rest is almost out of the question. ;) I may go down to my moms all day tomorrow and rest so she can watch Brady. I also talked to him about my anxiety, and how I tend to have anxiety attacks whenever I don't feel good, fly, etc... He gave me a low dose prescription of Xanax (sp?) to use when I get anxious. Of course, I have anxiety about taking meds for it too. :rolleyes: So, when I am feeling anxious next time, at least I will have the option of something to take if I need it.

Michelle - About 3 months ago, Brady started grabbing his diaper and telling me when he went the bathroom. He would come over, grab his diaper, and then stand there and pee or poop. So, I figured I would buy a potty and bring him over to it when he told me. He would tell me, I would run him to the potty, but by the time we got there, he would have gone. I never pushed it....sometimes he goes days without telling me he needs to go. But over the past week, he would tell me, we would run to the potty, and he would actually go!!! I still don't push it...we actually haven't visited the potty for a couple of days. But when he goes, I give him M&M's and he gets soooooooooo excited! :yay:

Bethany - I'm so sorry about your mom. :hug: Thank you for sharing. Oh - and I LOVE the shirts for Disney!!!! Where did you make them? They came out awesome!!!!

DMickey - LOVE the pics of Alexander!!! He is so cute - especially covered in sand and running in the water! Oh - and is that a Red Sox hat he is wearing???? ;)

DMickey, Alexander is so cute! Love the beach photos. That's so great that you can get to the beach so easily!

When we took Owen to the beach in Sept he hated the waves touching his toes and legs - just screamed and cried. We're hoping he'll have a better experience this summer when he's a little older. Doesn't help that the ocean is so stinking cold by us. I told DH that if we decide to make regular trips over the hill to the ocean we should get Owen a little wetsuit like a lot of the beach babies have.

Kelly, I'm glad you talked to your dr. about your head and your anxiety! DH has anxiety, but he refuses to take any meds for it and frankly I wish he would. I was on Paxil for a while for anxiety, and it really helped me. That plus some "cognitive behavioral therapy" - basically, I just learned how to get rid of anxious thoughts. I'm a lot more relaxed now, so that's been a huge help. I hope you find the Xanax helpful, too.

Hooray! My jeans that I ordered from Lands' End arrived today so I have them for the trip! Finally - pants I don't have to roll up! Since I'm in between sizes, I bought a pair of stretch boot cut jeans in the smaller size, and a pair of no-waist bootcuts for the larger size. They fit as well as anything can these days, so I'm happy with that.

i'm struggling with the baby weight too. Next thurs I start a "Biggest loser" type class. It lasts 12 wks and they basically teach you how to eat. My boss has gone to 2 of the 12 wk sessions and she really likes it and has lost weight. You work out and diet on your own and come back each week to get weighed and measured. I think this will help me get motivated. I need to lose the last 20 baby lbs and would like an extra 10 by aug for my friends wedding that I am the matron of honor. that is my 1st goal. Then my 2nd goal would be at my healtly weight...another 30lbs by the time we go to Disney next Feb. so overall---50-60lbs would be awesome. I would love to be back to my highschool weight.

Since I am watching tv right now...have you seem the pilsbury cresent roll commerical. The sound sounds like the disney commerical and it confuses me everytime bc i think it is a disney commerical...but nope only pilsbury.

Hey All!!

We got back from WDW today. We stayed at ASSports for a couple of days and it was so fun! While it's nice to be able to go for the day, there is something special about staying overnight. :) We haven't stayed overnight since we moved down here (actually, since before Spencer was born).

Bethany, love the shirts! Glad you found jeans that fit. I just bought two pair last week (I had been looking since before Christmas).

Kelly, I'm glad you went to the doctor; it's better to be safe. Feel better soon. :hug:

DMickey, love the pictures! I want to take Spencer to the beach, but it has been so cold lately.

Jen, that lady was ridiculous. :sad2:

Denise, that is great you were abl to find a place to take Mo.

Hi girls! Will catch up later but I had to pop in before work- I am so excited because I just ordered my projector!!! :yay: The Epson store had a coupon for 10% off (which made it $629 instead of $699) PLUS free shipping and NO sales tax!!! :woohoo: Now, what movie should be the first?

DH and I decided to set up a screen-like thing in the house too, so we can have indoor "movie theater" night! :)

Becky, that's awesome!!! :cool1: I'd have a hard time picking out the first movie to watch. Which movies are you considering for this honor? :)

SOmething Disney, of course!! :)

Actually, I'm sort of thinking about a PIXAR double feature. But then I started thinking about the series "Planet Earth"- how cool would that be on a 12 ft. screen? I don't know.

We're planning on having several themed nights: Family night; Girl's Night; Crappy Movie Night (for DH and his buddies- they like watching really awful, low-budget horror flicks and making fun of them); Halloween movies; Star Wars (of course); etc. All the movies will be BYO snacks and drinks and blankets or lawn chairs.

Kelly- beer pong sounds hilarious! Although, like you, I'd have to do something besides beer- I just cannot drink the stuff! I take xanax, too, on occassion. It's nice to know that I have something that will help me calm down if I can't do it on my own.

Bethany- those shirts are too adorable! You must be getting so excited!

Denise- that's great about the daycare!!

DMickey- the pics of Alexander are adorable!!! He looks so cute in his little swim trunks. :cutie:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So this lady I work with was just gone for 2 weeks (she had lap-band surgery to lose weight). And while I like her (mostly) she can be so hard to get along with. Sometimes she is so nice and friendly, but when she gets stressed, she likes to take it out on everyone else: she makes rude comments to coworkers (myself included), she goes on and on about how "she" is the only one that works, etc. And I just realized- she has only been back for 2 days (not even a whole 2 days) and we're all already tensed up again. :sad2: And the snarky comments are already flowing.
And while I mostly like her, she's about to get on my not-so-nice side in a hurry! :headache:
Hi Guys
Bec -- awesome news about the projector -- that is a good deal and sounds super fun!!
Michelle - hi - great to see you. I am so glad Will is doing so good!
Jen -- good job holding your ground with that nasty Librarian -- I would have been so pissed!! All you can do is stick to your guns, educate those that are willing to listen and ignore jerks like that Librarian!
Denise -- good news about the daycare that can accomodate the kosher issues!
Kelly -- I am glad you called your doctor - better safe than sorry!
Bethany -- have a great time on your DL trip -- I think we stayed once at the Camelot Inn -- is it right across the street from Disney? Walking distance? If so - we stayed there - I remember we stayed somewhere with a castle theme - we liked it. It was so weird though to be able to walk into Disney -- walk - its right there - right across the street and the entrance is at street level and you just walk in. Imagine walking into WDW -- it would be like 10 miles!!
Amber - Hi -- glad you had fun at WDW -- I am jealous - you get to go there alot -- how close do you live to WDW?
Krelie -- good luck with the biggest loser thing!!
Dmickey -- I LOVE the pix of Alex at the beach -- what a cutie -- and way to go with the Boston hat!! Jen, Kelly and I are raising little Red Sox/Patiots fans so its nice to see some FL Boston fans as well!
Hi to all I missed (sorry if I missed you!!)
*******************
So - I entered Izzy into the "Live with Regis and Kelly" beautiful baby search -- I used the pix that's in my signature at the far right! I know we have no chance of winning and there are probably a billion enteries -- but who knows!
And in other news -- I spoke to my IVF clinic today and they called in my hormone prescriptions (estrogen and progesterone for now) and also a prescription for Metformin (since I had gestational diabetes) -- I am starting all the meds this weekend. And then the 1st week of April I meet with the doctor to go over the plans for the IVF and get my medication schedule and then in May or June -- we are going to go through another round of IVF!!!
If only I could be so lucky as to get pregnant again on the first try like I did with Izzy. I am sooooo excited!!
We continue to house hunt too...nothing yet but we are seeing another place tonight.
Have a great day ladies!
-Nicole
Becky, congrats on the projector. It sounds awesome!
Nicole, we live about an hour and a half from WDW.
Good luck with the IVF. :wizard:
Amber- I'm moving close to you- it's freaking snowing here! Again!
And I went out with my SIL and some girls from work last night, and oy- I am feeling it this morning. It's gonna be a rough day at work.
Becky - That's so exciting. I am sorry that chick is back at work, stinks when someone can ruin things for everyone like that. Glad you had a girls night out!! It must be so nice having people to watch Vaylie ... you go out a lot!! I am jealous!! Dh and I are going on a date tonight so I can't complain.
Amber - I complain about living down here more often than not but I LOVE it right now!
Nicole - :banana: That is so exciting. Keep us updated!! Maybe we will be PG together! Good Luck with Izzy and the contest, that's a great picture. I think I should have looked into more of that with Alexander when he was little.
Kelly - Beer pong! How fun. Sadly, some of DH's ex co-workers and a friend of ours used to play every weekend but for real. They were 31ish ...
I am in the BEST mood today. I got a ++OPK yesterday AM and then today I had the best ovulation pain!! Ha ... sounds horrible to say that but it was definitely O. I can't wait to confirm with a temp rise tomorrow, I hope. We had perfectly timed BD last night at about 11pm with pre-seed and instead cup. Wish me luck ... :rolleyes1 :yay: :cheer2:
We are going to a restaurant called Bostons on the Beach tonight for dinner. A few of our friends down here, from Boston, love it so we are excited to try it.
FYI - I don't know if everyone knows but we are from Massachusetts so DS wearing a Red Sox hat is just as natural as him wearing is Brady Jersey!! :-) Glad you all liked the pictures.
It must be so nice having people to watch Vaylie ... you go out a lot!!
We are VERY fortunate- my mom, DH's parents, my BIL & SIL, my sis, and my grandma all are more than willing to watch Vaylie, so it's pretty much never a problem to find someone to watch her if we need to. Although, Friday night I left DH home with her. ;)
Ok- the bolded part made me laugh out loud. :lmao: That's so exciting though!! I have never noticed O pain. Not once, I don't think.
Anyway- I am definitely crossing my fingers for you!! This is the month!! :cool1:
I noticed the hat :) But I knew you were from MA, so it made sense to me...just like my kids wearing them.:thumbsup2 If we ever moved...we'd still be in our redsox, patriots gear!
Ugh- Vaylie just woke up and boy is she a peach this morning. Not. :headache: It seems like every day that I have home with her, she decides to be her most grumpy, uncooperative self. *sigh* I guess it's just the age. And if you can't be grumpy with your own mom, who can you be grumpy with? Thank God for the Imagination Movers. :)
But- I am still doing FLYLady and I was up, showered, dressed and hair fixed before she even woke up!!! My sink is shiny, my kitchen is clean, and today I plan to declutter my closet- specifically the clothes that I never wear, and I know deep down I never will. Might as well pass them on to someone else who can wear them.
Happy Sunday everyone! :flower:
