The New Lizard Lounge

A big   to you too dreamflight! Haven't seen you around of late--then again, I've not been around of late! Winter sports season with the high schoolers has me on the run all week and Saturdays too! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season--as I also wish for the rest of our LLs. :flower1:

well im still trying to decide. i dont think i'll do the garden suites but i do want to do concierge. the bc rooms with the sitting area sound nice-any requests i should make?
are there jr suites/deluxe rooms on the yc cl? any other suggestions-i am looking for a 2nd tv & a little more room w/o having to break the bank on a huge suite.
i cant anywhere all day on the wdw site.
thanks again.

I've booked BWI Deluxe Concierge. There is something like 200 extra square feet of space, a pull-out couch and an armoire that houses a second TV. BWI Concierge is VERY nice! I highly recommend it.
Good luck!

vikame I would definatly go with a deluxe at the BW. I have stayed at the YC and BC and like the BW so much better. The deluxe rooms are BW view, right over the Bakery and the lounge is so much more inviting. You will be very pleased with your choice if you stay there. When you make your reservations make sure you request your room to be on the 4th floor. Some of the deluxe rooms are 3rd floor. The 4th floor rooms are right around the corner from the lounge.

I had a recent trip to YC concierge and wasn't overly impressed. The lounge offerings were really limited and they don't even keep the room open.

Kerry definitely has me convinced to try BWI the next time.

Tammi

Wow! Great to see some familiar faces around here, as well as some new ones. I love it when our lounge is really hopping!

Welcome back to everyone recently returned (hope the dose of reality hasn't been too hard to swallow) and Happy Trails to everyone leaving or about to leave. Steffy, your trip sounds fabulous - I'm so glad you had lots of magic moments.

DF99 I've been thinking about you - hope your SIL (or was it sister?) living in Indonesia was not affected by the terrible tsunami. Couldn't remember which island you mentioned, but I hope it was far, far away from the devastation.

OK - I have to confess to you all that I am now officially
DH & I booked a spur-of-the-moment trip for Jan. 29 - Feb. 2, and we're pretty darn excited. Well, due to some crazy circumstances, I am going again with my cousin (the brave mom of four under age 5) on a girls' trip to celebrate her birthday, Feb. 15-18. DH is doing 3 business trips in less than a month, so he's sending us on this trip to assuage his guilt. I just can't believe I'm going back to the Poly less than 2 weeks after coming home from there! CL CM's are gonna think I'm a total nut. Is there a Hazelden Clinic for Disney addiction?

Donna, wow!! I envy you. Right about now I would kill to be going that soon. Things at home are a mess and I am totally stressed by big problems. I am going to NC to visit with my youngest daughter and her husband next week, so that is somewhat of a break. I would love to plan a solo trip, to just get away and forget life for a while.

Okay, I would LOVE to take a solo trip....you must, MUST pack me in your suitcase. No if's, and's or but's about it. :cool1: I'll begin practicing how to roll up like a fruit roll up. :earboy2:

Big "hi" to everyone. Don't have too much time. I'm starting to think about my plans....I'm thinking of tweaking some other things. How hard is it to secure an Illuminations cruise on the Breathless with IPO handling it. I have a specific night I want to do it. 50%, 80%, 90% chance of getting it you think?

I'm pretty psyched about staying at the BWI. I was showing DH some photos of the place on another site and he can see why I wanted to stay there. Him

Mom is sooooo completely pumped about going and seems to lean towards AKL & BWI. She thinks the Contemporary is "okay." His little sis doesn't seem to careless about going for some reason? :faint: She does, but then she doesn't. She's 17 so maybe she needs to see it firsthand to know what we are talking about. Is this what I have to look forward to with my son in the teen years? YUCK! Is there a fast forward button somewhere on him that I haven't discovered yet?

You guys have a wonderful, disney day! I need to play catch up with you guys on the happenings around the world. Sounds like some of you had some nice trips here lately. I'm so envious. I wish I could make a mini-trip, but funds may not allow it. One will have to see.

what room should request?
we are going 12/9 for 7 nights & am going with the deluxe room
on your advice.
thank you all.
does this room have a fridge?

Hi everyone!

Haven't been around much. Very busy here. Been lurking for a few days and thinking about planning a trip with just me & DD(5). Leave DH home with DS(4-yesterday) and DD(2 in 10 days). One of the best times of our Oct trip was when DH & friend took DS and DD(2) back to the room for much needed naps and DD(5) and I toured Epcot's WS together. We had a blast. Sometimes I think I expect too much out of DD(5) because she's the oldest and I am the baby of 6 so I tend to sympathise with the younger kids. I think a trip with just the 2 of us would be wonderful. I may plan a trip closer to home for DS and I. I still haven't mentioned this to DH but those AP's burning a hole in my pocket have me hot to plan a trip. DD's birthday is 5/22 and mine is 5/6 so I'm thinking sometime in late April or May. I was thinking of just doing a value resort but then I read bad reviews and start thinking maybe WL or AKL or Swan/Dolphin and then its not too hard to jump to BWI CL or AKL CL or back to Poly CL.

P&PD to all in need. Happy Belated birthday Debbie. Donna how wonderful for you! I'm sure your DSIL could use a vacation! Steffy-glad to see you've got a new counter-how brave of you!

KerryCM is the BWI expert and should be able to give an indication on room location. I'm looking forward to my first stay there in July :cloud9: so I can't tell you where the good spots are. Didn't rumor have it that they were putting fridges in all the CL rooms. If not, request it and it'll be there for you when you get there (no charge of course).

Ducklite's post got me thinking about this. Do all suites at the deluxes have stocked fridges or just certain ones at certain resorts?

Okay, I think I'm hanging out a little too much. I have a mound of work and it's not going to get done by itself. DS has basketball practice tonight...I hope DH will take him so I can come back to re-acquaint myself and chat. Toodles!

Ok we had rooms 4227 and 4229, both deluxe rooms. The other one is 4231. Those are the only ones on the 4th floor. You reservation doesn't get into the system until 5-7 days before you arrive. You can e-mail IPO with your request. They are all wonderful in that office.
VAgal You ahve a good chance of getting your Breathless cruise if you deal with the IPO. Let them know as soon as you have reservations what date you want it for. It is put into their system and when the 90 day mark comes the make your reservations.

The suites at WL CL don't but the CM's did offer to stock the fridge of the Yellowstone Suite for us in May with Vanilla Coke. :smooth: In my trip report I mentioned that I told them DH liked it and they knocked on our door about 1/2 an hour later with a basket full of it. I thought that was really nice of them.

I know you can pay to have some of the fridges stocked but why bother if it is on CL. I don't know why some of the resorts do this and some don't. :flower1:

good evening all-
what are the balconies like w/the dlx rooms and what do the overlook?
i've never been to the boardwalk and i am so looking forward to this trip. :cool1:
living at the central jersey shore our boardwalk version i'm sure i much
different than disneys.
your tips have all been greatand your friendliness is refreshing.

Two bedroom suite at AKL- not stocked *but I am definitely not complaining!*

Good to see you, Lovesdumbo!

Be good while I am gone! Have a great week!
Debbie

The balconies of the deluxe rooms are over the Bakery looking at theYC and BC and lake. It is a beautiful view. I sent you some pictures of the views and the rooms.

Thank you!! I think of all of you too :grouphug: ...and had no idea where to find you, until I saw this thread!! You have a FAB memory! Yes, my SIL resides in Ubud, Bali. She was not affected by the Tsunami, but is over in the region assisting in the relief effort. She is an OBGYN, and is actually performing more "triage" than anything else. She says she has NEVER done so much "stitching" (suturing) before! Thank goodness for philanthropic persons such as her!

Tess~Hello Sweetie!! It's so great to hear from you too!!
I miss everyone from the "old days"...especially BT (is that acronym permitted on here?!). Thankfully, we keep in touch via email, and she is doing GREAT (as expected!). :teleport:

VAgal76~When I was younger...I used to practice rolling in a tight ball!! We could practice together, and fit in a roll-on!! LOL!! :rotfl: Speaking of mini-trips...my time in England and Paris w/DD were PRICELESS!! Two and a half weeks of PURE BLISS! I will have to post some details...if you guys are interested (?). It was amazing, and we want to go back TODAY!! LOL. Now, if only I could locate some spare thousands $$$ lying around!!

lovesdumbo~Another name I am HAPPY to see!!! :D Hope everything is going well with you in the new year!! Your plans for a solo with DD sound PERFECT! GO FOR IT, and DH will take care of the younger ones.

floridafam~:wave2: I agree...they should ALL stock the fridges, especially if you are on CL anyway!! I LOVED this feature on the 14th CR, especially when I was too tired or under-dressed to scuff-off to the lounge! (LOL). I enjoy some OJ over crushed ice (which the room service would bring to my suite!) when I'm ready to relax in the late eve. Must be my iron deficiency, I still have not fully controlled the problem since losing 1/3 the volume of my blood last Feb. Hopefully...the new SLOW FE pills will work better.

On a better note, I just finished reserving our Villa @ DVB for this summer. We are all set, for TWO WEEKS of heaven!! We LOVE this place, and always return to the same Villa, for the same Reasons! I could LIVE at the place, if they would only SELL these as condos! :earboy2: (Like that would happen!)

Now...I have to get busy making the airline ressies, and the PBH suite. After that, the navigator..and we are finito! Our June DISNEY Cruise (in Los Angeles!) is all set...and we have the same suite we initially had on the Magic!! All is WELL with the WORLD! :boat:

To all the LL...CHEERS! :wizard: Here's to all the planning and dreaming in 2005!!

TTFN...always, DF99

Hello Everyone,

Hope all is well with the LLs. Havn't had a chance to get on the DIS for a while. It's been so busy with work, and we just bought a new house and people have been coming to our existing house for showings etc - try keeping a house clean with an almost-3 year old!! :scared1: Anyway, people are coming over with an offer tonight - so wish us luck!

I can't believe how close our trip is! I feel TOTALLY unprepared. I think I have one pair of summer capris and that's about it! I havn't made any PSs other than CP and now I think I will cancel it because of the EMH madness - have those dates finally stabilized? We are a go with our Illuminations Cruise on Feb 12th for DSs b'day - he is pretty excited about going (his first time). We are sharing the cruise with a few other DISers - IPO got the ressie no problem. I can't wait to go - we definately need a dose of Magic :wizard: I am also really looking forward to our Wonder cruise (after our WDW stay) and hope DS loves the kids clubs so DH and I can have a bit of quiet time.

Take care all. :grouphug:

You sound like you are definitely going to need some relaxation built into your Disney vacation. My head is spinning with all this EMH and a evening hour and tickets my way. I'm sort of glad that my trips for this year are all over. I have plenty of time for my fellow DIS'ers to report back on the pro's and con's of it all.

You are going to love the Illuminations cruise. We did this a few weeks ago and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Just an FYI, you can also arrange to have a few snack items on the boat. I believe it's done through the YC private dining. I had considered doing some hot chocolate and some desserts. They also have the birthday package that you can add on, with decorations and cake.

We just came off the 4 night Disney cruise and had an incredible time. It was only DH and myself for this trip, but we did have the kids with us back in May. There's a lot to do, but some of the best advice that I received was to have the kids go to the clubs on the first night. That way, everyone is new and making friends is easy. After that, kids tend to buddy up and it might be more difficult for a newcomer. My DS was with the teen group and DD8 was in the lab. She absolutely loved it. Most nights, she would eat dinner with the kids, then join us at our 8:30 seating and then go back to the lab.

I hope you have a wonderful time.

Tammi
