The New Lizard Lounge

Ok, I am staying at BWI with concierge/club level access for the first time coming in October. Wher is it in the Inn, I know it's on the 5th floor only, can I get there from the BWV's upstairs or do I have to go down to the lobby and go up from there?

Does anyone have a menu of what they have out during the day?

Thanks so much!

HI everyone. I just got a Dis e-mail that there had been activity on this thread and come to see there had been lots of activity. I did do the parasailing -- it was amazing. I was worried that I wouldn't like it or that I would panic but it was the most relaxing experience. I was all alone in the sky with the birds flying around. Totally something I will do again. The rest of the time I spent relaxing by the pool, or shopping at the outlets. It was a great get away -- even if my DH showed up for two nights and my GF showed up with her kids for one night.

I'm still planning AKL concierge for Christmas this year. I really can't wait. If anyone in my family suggests another resort I just give them my "don't mess with me" look and they back off. I have to get busy and make my dining reservations or there'll be nothing left but I'm sure I'll get something.

Finally, I jst wanted to let those of you who have read my posts in the past about my trips driving to PA I brought my DM back to PA for the summer this past June. I was two miles from the scene of the deisel fiasco, about three in the morning when I was surrounded by police vehicles. I pulled over and apparently I had missed a speed limit sign that said the speed limit was 35. OOOOOPS!! I was going about 70 -- not a good thing when you have out of state plates, cops seem to love that. I still don't know why it took two police vehicles to pull me over. I just drove up again for a three week stay with my DD in the car. I avoided that area and added 45 minutes to my trip just so I didn't have to deal with what I am calling my own personal axis of evil.

Hope eveyone is having a great time planning their trips.

I am so going to do the parasailing! I was a little worried about my pooh size, but I guess if planes can fly...:rotfl: :rotfl:

On your way up to PA...let me guess you got hit on 19 going towards Summerville? They make their money that way I swear!

YES 19 towards Summerville. The cops definitely made their money on me that night and I know that speed limit sign was hidden behind a tree or billboard or something -- but since I will never travel that stretch again I will never know. Actually we are heading back down on Saturday, but this time my DH (who flew in on Saturday for my birthday) will be driving through that stretch so if he wants to go that way its up to him.

Just an extra note regarding the parasailing. I loved it so much that when we go up for DD's birthday this year my DH is going to take her up tandem. She's going to be soooo excited. I'm going to buy a new camera just for that event.

Hey everybody,

Have you seen/visited the new concierge thread in the resorts board? It's called Concierge/Club Level Information (Sept 2008).

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1943943

I hope everyones' summer was really grand. It's still nice out, but kids are back to school / sports and we are once again doing the taxi service.

Last time at WDW was April school break 2007. It's time to plan another trip, but the kids schedule is so crazy, it's like we can't get away. Our summer vacation was only 4 days. :sad1:

Who knows, surprises do happen.
Best wishes all.

I can hardly wait now! It seems like time flies until the very end doesn't it?

So my DD's birthday just passed and we didn't make it to WDW. I'm quite depressed about the whole thing but we might go up for a Halloween party night. My DH still wants to take DD parasailing I just hope they can do it if go in October. Otherwise it will be Christmas when we go again and I know my DH won't do it if it is the slightest bit cold. I would but I don't think I could handle her squirming around that high up and she really is never still.

Anyway, looking forward to hearing stories from everyone elses trips.

Its been a really long time since anyone opened these lounge doors. Is anyone still around? I have no idea why I thought of this thread today but I did and decided to check in with everyone and say hi!

Hey MinnieSummer - what a blast from the past when I saw the email notifying me there was a new post in this thread! I'm still in touch with a lot of the original "Lounge Lizards" via phone and email and even occasional meets at WDW. Most of us don't post on the boards anymore for various reasons, ranging from lack of time to concerns about privacy. We all miss it sometimes though.

Wow! I was as surprised as Donna to see this. I am still around. Leaving on Wednesday for a trip with my husband to the YC.

Hi. Its nice to know that some of you are still around. I'm not on the boards as often as I used to be either -- oddly enough its because I'm not working anymore and don't seem to have the time anymore -- I used to be on the internet all the time at work. Oh well.

Kerry, have a great time at YC. I still haven't stayed there although that is the only place left that I haven't stayed.

Someone else that I PMed said that there was some kind of melt down on the boards and they weren't visiting anymore either. I missed a lot I guess.

Anyway, hope everyone is well.

Hi fellow Lounge Lizards! :hippie: How fun to see the lounge open if only for a quick drop-in. I am off to the Food and Wine Festival in October followed by a 7-day cruise on the Magic...just my sister and I along with nephew and his wife. Adults only!!!:banana:

My brother and his wife leave a week from today for a stay at YC CL - their first time! I am so excited for them.

Good to see you all!

Hi Everyone, Wow, I was surprised to see e-mail from the Lizard Lounge. Good to see a few of us are still around. :) Minniesummer, I am glad you cracked the doors open and dusted all the furniture off. :goodvibes

I am finishing our planning for our October trip. We are also doing the Food and Wine Fest. WOOHOO! Wouldn't it be wild if we ran into each other and didn't even know it???

KerryCM- Hope you have a fantastic time on your trip. Wishing you perfect weather and lots of pixie dust.

I have a trip in September for DD's birthday and my annual Christmas trip coming up but I haven't made any plans yet for either. I'm hoping a code comes out for the Christmas trip today or tomorrow and once school starts I'll be able to plan the birthday trip as she wants to take a friend. Hope everyone enjoys their trips and maybe, now that the furniture is dusted off, some of you can stop in from time to time.

Pixie dust to all.

Well Hello Ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I have thought of you all so often and have missed hearing from you. How are you doing? It has been so long since we all chatted so if you are up to an early cocktail, i have a lovely pineapple infused vodka served with a littlel wildberry martini mix. It reminds me of the Poly.

Nancy, everytime I make that drive from FL to PA I think of you laughing at my putting deisel in the van. I have never stopped in that station again although I have driven that stretch of 19, only because it does take about 45 minutes off the trip. This last trip, just done last weekend, involved an emergency stop at a vet -- On Star is truly a wonderful thing for being able to find on that was open on a Saturday evening. The trip before that required turning around after about three hours because we forgot my mom meds. That drive is my major downfall in life but it does create some pretty amusing stories.

How have you been? Anything new and amusing going on?

:rotfl2: I have to tell you that we were talking about you a few weeks ago. My DS called us in a bit of a panic. My DDIL put diesle in her car and it just about died on her way to my DD's. DH piled all his tools and something to tow the car off the road. I made sure I told the Debbie Downers in my family how you did just fine after running gas thru the engine and we all had a bit of a chuckle. DDIL's car was fine and I got to reminisce about you so it was good!

how is your Mom doing?

We are fine but i am having a bit of Disney separation anxiety. We planned a trip for last April but I needed to cancel. DH had been having muscle andnerve pain issues and had missed a bit of work while he went through a battery of tests, followup tests...............I ended up canceling becasue he was back to work and it would not have looed good to take time off so soon.

i think it is absolutely hysterical that my exploits from so long ago are still topics of conversation.
how is your Mom doing?
Unfortunately, mom passed away this past June. While it is still very painful for me I know that she is happy because she is where she wanted to be since the day my father passed away -- with him. They would have been married 65 years this past May. For that reason alone I am at peace with everything that happened.

I can understand the separation anxiety. If I don't get there every couple of months I start driving my DH crazy until he gives in. I need to either be planning a trip, on a trip, or bugging my DH for the next trip. But I forgot, I am going up next Sunday, just until Monday morning, all by myself.
