We will be there 17-25 of August. We have a late flight on the 17th because my DS2 drives us crazy on the plane so the later the flight the better we also fly jetblue, but this time the tickets were almost 300 each round trip. It was the most expensive I have ever paid.

Hey we'll be going home on the 25th, too. I'm sure we'll be passing each other.
I've been lucky with my 1.5 year old son on planes so far. (where is the crossing fingers icon)
I didn't do so good with August's flight as i had first thought --- cost $269 a ticket. I'll forgetall about that once we are there at the wonderful Grand!

Suzzane...

Believe it or not... that's the garden view!!! (and my personal favorite!!!) My mom STILL likes to go and watch the monorail and the boats from that view...

Here's some pics from the 5th floor room 7513...

Tink,
Those pictures are amazing!
We have a GV room booked for 9/27-10/1
I would love to have this as a view! WOW This really is a GV room??
What building is this?? I have a request in for a monorail view/high floor. I would like to add what ever building this is to the request.
Thank You.

Has anyone had any luck getting a substituion on the GFC's lunch menu for kids?? I am looking at the lunch menu (which is the same for lunch and dinner) and can't imagine telling DS5 that he will need to eat grilled chicken or steak for lunch while Daddy and I are eating a burger... :confused3 Do you think I could get some grilled cheese for the poor kid??

Mr Mike:
I was so excited about my trip to the Beach Club now I that I have been hanging out over here I wish that I was staying at the Grand. I told my husband this and he said your NEVER HAPPY LOL. But since we have DVC its not really worth it for us to stay at the Grand :sad1: Oh well, but I am going to keep hanging around here because everyone is just so nice.

Jeanine, The beach is great isn't it? I had a great room once right at the very end of the Beach Club closest to Epcot. It couldnt have been more than a 2 minute walk to Epcot.

We'll be hanging out near you one night; we have a Illuminations cruise leaving from the Yacht Club scheduled on, I think, friday the 22nd.

Mr mike:
I've never stayed at the Beach Club this will be our first time, I can't wait last time we were at the Boardwalk and that was great, we walked over to BC and fell in love with it. I can't wait to try it out everyone says its awesome. I love that it is so close to Epcot we have a lot of adr's over there.

I'm sure you'd have no problem getting a grilled cheese or some other choice for your son. Just ask if you don't see it on the menu. We've eaten at the GF Cafe' several times and DH always asks for and gets substitutions, so they probably do it for kids all the time. (How many kids order steak, anyway?)

I love the GF cafe. They have a couple who works there hosting theya re so nice. I love the food there and the Breakfast and the lunch are very good as well as the dinner.

Hi Everyone! I have been reading this thread and there is sooo much information...so thank you!

We are planning our first trip to the GF for 4 nights Dec 23-27. It is our 10 year Anniversary (Dec 19th) and first Christmas at Disney. We are DVC members and are moving over to the BCV for the remainder of our trip.

I am looking for any informatin in regards to a Christmas stay or anything to make my Anniversary special. We will have our two children along,

I am thinking of getting a GV room. Would you spend the extra money to upgrade for a view? Are there ever any discounts during the week of X-mas?

Any info is appreciated!

We will make an ADR for dinner our first night. We are so excited to be staying at the GF, it is our first time.

The Gf cafe is really good, and the atmosphere is really nice there as well. It is one of our favorites!

Congrats on your 10 year anniversary. We'll also be spending our first Christmas there this dec. I would upgrade the view because its your anniversary and it will be Christmas.
I was told there were no AAA discounts after the 19th for this year. I don't know if there will be any AP or room discounts.

I Have a GV room this April and requested a marina view (thanks to the friendly people on this thread) which is considered GV.

Hello everyone! Live from WDW :)

Unable to get Sago Cay (what we have requested), but now we are also happy with a Marina View in Conch Key! The walk to food court wasn't bad at all!

Interesting .... are all rooms renovated? My room has the LG LCD TV, but the wallpaper looks a little worn out. We have a connecting room with my parents, but their rooms look quite new (although no wallpaper).

The CM here are very nice. Live4Disney, I have received my parcel from Fedex. They kept it in Package room and sent it to my room upon arrival :)

Won't have Internet access for another few days - just paid 9.95 in order to activate my Virgin Mobile phones :)
