Just a note of caution: be prepared to wait for the valet to retrieve your car. Depending on the time of day, you could wait up to 30 minutes or more because the valets are extremely busy. On the other hand, you may have good timing and a valet is there to assist you immediately. Even calling ahead doesn't necessarily guarantee your car will be there. It just depends...

Wow! 30 minutes is a loooong wait. We must have good timing - in about 10 GF stays we've never waited more than 5 -7 minutes for the valets to bring our car!

That is so cool. Of course the day she was at the GF, 11/25, was the day we WERE there ALL DAY!!!! Just hanging out. Wouldn't ya know we'd be clueless and miss everything.

here's just some pretty GF pics.....

CABANA AREA & STORE where you can buy suntan lotion, goggles & pool toys and magazines. They have hair wrapping available also CASH only no room charge for the hair wraps....there are new lounge chairs in the rental cabanas that don't match the teak table and chairs. They look ugly IMO. Also, the floor covering has changed and is much smaller. Also ugly.

Concierge desk area on the 3rd floor with a new seating area and expanded game table space. There used to be three concierge desks, now there are two.

During the day they have juice & champagne out on this sideboard.....

We used the free cabanas a few times. Nobody was renting the rentals at all while we were at the pool area.

GRAND 1.....We rented a pontoon boat and when we were done I asked if I could see the Grand 1. A super nice CM let us on board and I took as many pics as I could without seeming like a total geek. It is gorgeous. It was tough in the tight quarters with my girls gawking at everything and I didn't want them touching anything!!! I didn't even get to take bathroom pics but DH saw it and said it was really nice too. Everything was sparkling and polished and plush.

CRFan, just noticed in your signature that you're going to give the GF a try. You, your mom and your dad should plan on walking over during your Poly stay. Maybe if it's not too busy, a CM can show you a room to give you an idea of what you'll be getting. Sugar Loaf is definitely going to be very different than what you've experienced at the Atrium Club and Poly Club though.

We do plan to visit the Grand Floridian and at least see the Sugar Loaf building in person. As for seeing the rooms I have a feeling that might not happen, because when I looked online for our dates as of right now it is sold out. However someone could cancel at the last minute, so hopefully it would mean looking at one of the rooms. If that does not happen then we will try to ask about seeing the lounge, just like how we got to view the lounge in the Hawaii Longhouse at the Polynesian.

Every time I walked past they had OJ and champagne out. No matter what time of day until about 6 pm or so.

The 3rd floor is really nice and open. It is nice that they expanded the seating area and added a game table...or maybe they just rearranged?? I like it better this way, too.

1900 PARK FAIRE.....We LOVED this!!! The characters were awesome & we actually liked the food selection more than before.
