The new Cricut messageboards have launched

Thanks for sharing Hope. Just went over and checked it out. I usually don't deal well with change but this is a welcome one. That board had been a mess for months.

I've been having trouble logging in. I put in my email address and password but it says that either one was wrong (which it's not. I tried SEVERAL times)

I even clicked on the "forgot password" and got a new one sent to my email adress but that didn't work either.

Anyone know what's going on?

I had that happen to me. I had a new password sent and it worked fine. Does anyone know how to get the password changed to something I choose. The random number combinations are killing me!

To change your password, you have to do it from the "old" site. So go to www.cricut.com --> My Account and there will be a place to edit your password.

I haven't been able to change my password back no matter how hard I try. I just keep the email that was sent to me with the new random number and copy and paste.

Recently purchased a Cricut Expression but haven't checked out any message boards for it yet. Thanks for the link. Any other boards? I also downloaded a trial version of SCAL & Inkscape. Will be purchasing full program soon. Any favorite sites for free SVG files, blogs or message boards for those programs?

I really want to get into card making. Maybe a little scrapbooking on a much easier scale.

I didn't know there was a trial version! I'll have to look for it. I really wanted to see if I liked it before I bought it.

Yes, I think you get 15 days on the trail version. I've played with the software, but haven't actually plugged in a USB and tried cutting with SCAL yet. I probably should do that. ;)

Here are my list of websites/forum to visit for some awesome advice on SCAL, Inkscape, and any project made (most with a Cricut). The official cricut forum is quite the stickler for only projects made with their cartridges. IMO, that is just greedy.

SCAL forum:
http://forums.surecutsalot.com/

Inkscape forum (to learn inkscape to use with any cutter):
http://www.inkscapecuttingdesign.com/index.php

and the newest forum from previous cricut forum-board users:
http://www.smartbuygal.com/forum/index.php

That should keep you busy for a while.

And make your head spin...

The website that I used to learn inkscape is this one..
http://susanbluerobot.blogspot.com/2008/06/help-from-start-to-finish.html
it has pictures/step by step/ on how to take a dingbat (font) and modify the image to be able to cut, from beginning to end. You just need the font/dingbat she used... which can be found with a quick google search. And you don't need to install the font, just have it open before you open inkscape.

Any questions on any of this, let me know! I am willing to help or point you in the right direction.

THANK YOU.
I need to pick up a USB printer cable before I can try cutting anything via SCAL. I thought we had one, but we can't seem to locate it in the computer closet. lol
