I am so excited for our stay here now. We could have booked 1 deluxe room but thought 2 rooms with our 3 kids would be better. I have booked a 1 king bed room connecting to 2 doubles. They went out of their way to arrange this, I rang CRO and they contacted CSR and requested this arrangement. We had 2 doubles connecting at CBR last year and I really missed the king bed. I am also glad there is a health club to use. I work out 2-3 times a week with weights and would suffer if I could not do this on a 2 week vacation. I am really looking forward to the food court here. We love Chinese and Mexican food. I hope I see an alligator here too. Never seen one at a resor before! and the 22 person hot tub will be great! At least I will get a chace to use it , a other resorts they have usually been full. DDS are hoping there wil be lots of wildlife too.:goodvibes

I was finally able to snag CSR for early Aug. All that was available was a king room. I was wondering if there was any advantage to a king room besides the large bed. Are the king rooms all corner rooms? I thought I heard that about one of the mods and that it means more light with extra windows. Maybe that was POR, not sure.

I am really excited about staying here. It will be our first time. I was all set to book CBR today, the only mod available for our dates, but when CSR popped up this morning, I snapped it up. POR also became available today, but we have stayed there twice already. I cancelled BW to stay at CSR for half the cost.

I didn't know what section to ask for. I wanted to stay away from any convention hoopla (there will be 2 conventions in and out of there during our stay), so I did request Cabanas just because I like the beachy look. I hope there are king rooms at Cabanas.

I really like the look of the resort. Even the ranchos section, which I didn't think would appeal to me, gave me nostalgic feelings of the old Look Out Lodge in Tombstone, AZ and it does have some greenery.

It will be fun doing CSR research here and on Buzz' site. I want to know it all! :)

O.K. Buzz, you seem to the CSR Guru around here so I've got some questions for you. First of all, I'm really exited about this resort! At first I wasn't but I'm almost positive that I want to book here, so here's my questions.

I read that the Cabanas are the only 2-story buildings, that being the case, can you see any fireworks from there or anywhere in CSR.

My second question is probably the most important. How long should I wait to book? I'm thinking of going in November & was waiting for any good online deals.

My third question is: Would you happen to know how much I would save on a room if I'm a seasonal pass holder? And where would be the best place to look?

And Lastly, does anyone have any pics inside all the types of standard rooms? Ranchos, Casitas and Cabanas. I know it's a lot of questions but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :goodvibes

I have another CSR question. I need to activate my AP once I arrive at WDW.
1. If, by chance, CSR wants to see an activated AP when I check in, instead of a voucher, where is the closest park I can go to, to activate the AP pass?

I am really hoping they don't make me activate it before I check in, but just need to know in case they won't check me in without it.

Disney Padawan, if this helps, I just booked CSR for the week begining August 6. The only room available was king and that has been the only choice available for weeks now. Once I booked it, there was no availability showing on the web site. When I was ready to book the other night, only CBR was available and maybe POR. CSR popped up yesterday and I jumped on it, so maybe that will help you in trying to figure out when to book... as soon as those AP rates come out if not before!

I was able to book CSR at an AP rate for $109 per night for the king room (this includes tax). I believe the double bed rooms are around $91 pn, if that helps.

For photos, I believe Buzz has photos of the insides of all the sections of CSR on his web site. The link is in his signature. Love those CSR colors!

Thanks!

On this thread page 94 post #1409 has an interior picture of a room in the Ranchos section.

Go to Buzz's website for a picture of the Cabana sections (New Cabana Color Scheme and Fridge Case)

Go to this link to see the Casista section. The pictures of the Cabanas and Ranchos are of the old decor.

http://allearsnet.com/acc/g_cs.htm

All the bedspreads are the same throughout each section. The only difference I could see is the headboard, TV armorie and table/chairs.

Cabana's have the yellow, blue and green spindle headboard with a yellow TV armorie with blue trim.

Casitsa have the green headboard with a green TV armorie.

Ranchos have the brown, blue and yellow head board and a blue TV armorie.

I book with a Passholder discount last Nov. I think the discount was close to $50/nite.

They never asked to see proof of the pass.

And I dont think you will see any fireworks at CSR...

One note in terms of timing about when to book a room with an AP discount.

Last year I did not book a room until the AP discounts were annouced. When I called the only mod I could get was CBR... and I was not happy.

I called about every third day and eventually I did get CSR.

Just sharing my past experience...

$50 a night sounds awesome!!! :woohoo:

Where does one go to get a seasonal pass or AP holder quote on a room?
Also, I've heard that the new AP rates come out in August, anyone know if this is true? :thanks:

mouse savers dot com will show the AP rates when they are annouced.

August sounds about right.

Right now the deal is:

Travel dates: 8/5/07-9/29/07 for selected resorts. Some blackout dates apply. Book by 9/29/07. Use code FDV.

Sample rates:

Value resorts: $64 plus tax Standard view
Moderate resorts: $94 plus tax Standard view

Ak and MGM are only 5 mins away.

silmarg you :rockband: thanks for all the info. :thumbsup2

Now, I thought about making a thread on this but I guess I could just ask the question here.

Does anyone know what the heck a "Automated External Defibrillator" is? :confused3 I see them on the resort maps I print out.

Thanks, sorry for the ignorance.

I believe it is the paddle type setup to restart someone's heart in case of a medical emergency such as heart attack (I believe it would apply to drowning victims as well).

WOW! :scared1:

Good to know, Thank you, kindly. :)

Thank you! I wonder which of these parks would be the quickest turnaround by bus to get an AP activated and then go back to check into CSR... if they require me to do so. Buzz, or anyone familiar with CSR, do you have any recommendations on which theme park (Ak or MGM) would be the best option by bus from CSR to activate an AP pass and get back to the resort in the shortest time? Checking in on a Monday morning just before noon.
Thanks! tink

Whichever bus comes first! Since both are about the same distance away it really doesn't matter. Hop on the first bus to AK, or MGM, activate your AP, and return.

CSR is our favorite Mod. Have a great vacation!

:) Hey Buzz(or anyone else please) I thought you could help me with this one. We are staying at CSR during two football Sundays. Would we be able to watch a game in Franciscos? How many Tvs are there? Would my kids be ok to be in there? Would I be better off going to ESPN or All Star CAfe? Thanks for your help.

Hi there!

I am considering a stay at CSR in Cabanas after seeing the 1 sandy beach shot on Buzz's website.

I would LOVE to see more pics of this area, both outside grounds, pool and beach area as well as inside the rooms.

Thanks in advance!!!!:)

How did you find this out about which conventions will be there the same time as your dates?

I am planning my first moderate stay in September for the free dining. September 1-12. We are so excited and I have always wanted to give this resort a try!
