I'm going to an apartment of ours in La Gomera.

La Gomera is the 2nd smallest Canary Island, and is sooo beautiful and unspoilt (read:un-english!!!)

We have to fly to Tenerife and then get a boat from los christianos (where I wave good bye to all the crowds and pubs and clubs) and then that takes us to gomera's heaving capital (and its 1,000 residents). We then get a bus up into the centre of the isalnd which is all rainforest, and back down to the southern coast and its there in a tiny 5-restaurants-and-thats-your-lot town called Playa de Santiago.

Its one of my favourite places ever!!

Agreed - that sounds like checking into a DLH standard room and being told you've been upgraded to the Sleeping Beauty Suite...

hmm, I wonder

if you do - put a reserved sign on it for me for Feb or better still refuse to leave, claim squatters rights and we'll come and take over from you

Still hoping!!! I said to Jack if we do I'm going to open the window and play the piano (badly) and sing loudly along to the 'delight' of those entering the parks!

Also I minght lean out the window and shout

"Hi, just thought I'd say HI form my suite up here!" to general passers by!!

I can hope. I don't think I would be that lucky again in my lifetime. The only problem with staying there is that it gave me a taste for luxury hotel rooms! Hence the Disneyland hotel, Grand Californian at Disneyland and the Bellagio lake view!!

you certainly wouldnt be happy with the £9 travel lodge rooms that we love then would you

I think i'd only do Bellagio if i could get lake view.

Could get lucky in Caesars or Paris and see it too though. We could just about see it form our room at TI. We paid for strip view there and it was breathtaking!

Would thoroughly recommend TI only reason I wont be going back is it would make me feel small minded staying at the same place twice.

I want to stay at Mirage, Caesars, Bellagio AND the venetian...so plenty of trips still needed!

I'm perfectly happy with any room, so long as it has a bed...

I do appreciate a bed - Quaker gatherings are much more comfortable when sleeping is not done on the floor.

I quite liked the Wynn as well, but it was too far up the strip for us. When we go again I think we will stay at the Bellagio lake view again. Obviously then when is many, many years away!!

I have to admit I get really nervous about staying somehwere if it isnt 4 or 5* unless I am throughly researched!! I loove tripadvisor! Calms me a lot. I originally joined the DIS to check SL was going to be alright. Why I doubted disney I never know...I jsut get really edgy about hotels....

Think its been forced upon by my 5* only parents. Drives Jack MAD! But then he's got a lot of lush trips out of it! Lol.

I loooove going away when my folks are paying...
