That depends. If the max hasn't been set at 250, then it could be a long night...

The last one closed at 275 pages exactly, although as I say - 250 was mentioned as being the ideal limit.

does it depend how many picture and things are in it as well

If its 275 like the last one I agree it would be a long night

So we are all boring compared to Bob is that what your saying Rob

Not at all.

As Small World says - we're just not quite the extreme chatterboxes that Bob is :rotfl:

Plus the more people on here, the more conversations there are going round at once with more people contributing to each one, which means the more posts there are. Once people disappear, it gets reduced to just one or two conversations with less people involved in them, so the thread grows slowly.

No, I think it's just a fixed number of pages.

Caution: Yet more technical geek speak (hopefully simplified as much as possible)...

Each thread is held somewhere on the big DIS computer as a load of text. When we ask to view a thread, it is pulled from the big DIS computer and sent to our computers. Our computers then turn some bits of the text into images. What this means is that the number of images shouldn't affect the speed too much, because our computer deals with that, rather than the bid DIS computer. What does affect the speed though, is making huge threads, because it means there's a lot more text to find, which takes longer. So, the DIS computer automatically locks the threads after a certain number of pages, which I assume can be set by a moderator.

I think that's how it works anyway :rotfl:

Bob's coach driver lol!

We had a coach driver like that when we went on a school trip, he did nothing but moan, my friend found several pairs of underwear down the back of the seat & to top it off he had a crash on the way back. We are all sure he had been drinking at lunchtime:eek:
