The New Caribbean Beach FAQ Part VII

There is a bus stop for each village as well as OPR, so you'll be close to one no matter which village you wind up in. If you want to be close to OPR I would suggest requesting Jamaica, Aruba or Martinique. :thumbsup2

The CBR bus is just for CBR. The multiple stops is because there are multiple bus stops within CBR itself that it will stop at. Unlike the values the Moderate hotels have multiple stops within the hotel, instead of one central stop, since they are bigger in size.

Thank you!

Will all the refurbished rooms have queen sized beds? This is another reason I'm considering changing from a Value to Moderate resort.

Yes, all refurbished rooms that had doubles will now have queens. Obviously the king bed rooms keep the king beds. And the pirate rooms are not being refurbished so no queen beds on those rooms.

Does anyone know if the preferred rooms are refurbished yet??
Heading there last week of the month:cool1::cool1::cool1:

No, they just started Barbados at the end of last month. Probably won't get to the preferred rooms until end of November or December.

Just came back from our stay at CBR yesterday. Already depressed. Anyways, first impression of the resort was that I liked it but i didn't like it as much as the Coronado springs I've previously stayed..but.. Then it grew rapidly on me. All the colors are fantastic. I loved laying out at the nice quiet beach in aruba. Our king room was also awesome. They gave us gArden view but through the garden you could see out to the beach area which was a nice view. We were also relatively close to our bus stop. We had zero problems with the buses. Only waited around 20 plus minutes twice the entire stay and both of those were to epcot. Typically the buses weren't full to the parks except for a few times.. The way back however was always packed at park closing as expected. A bell boy brought us from the custom house to our room the first day so no issue there. It maybe took us 5-8 minutes to walk from our room to OPR. I really loved all the peaceful Caribbean music that was playing and the bartenders were super nice at banana cabana.

The cons:
-I found it weird the check in slash check out front desk wasn't like connected to everything else. I've only stayed in multiple all star resorts and the Coronado springs so I don't have much else to compare to
-if you have a short trip planned with no relaxation you want to book a room super close to the OPR or at least your bus stop. We barely ever ate breakfast at the resort because we didn't make it up early enough or didn't feel like walking all the way around the pond because our feet were tired. Typical disney. But if you don't like a decent around of walking or have at least a few days of relaxation planned for most of the day then this resort may not be for you. We had a day and a half ish of relaxation planned and I don't think that was enough.

Other than that. No real complaints. Mouse keeping was great. My husband also said he wants to come back next year so :) im excited to start planning that. And I will be considering CBR again. I want to stay for 8-10 days this time. 7.5 ish days seems to have went entirely too fast and I want at least more half days beach or poolside :)

Lastly, no stomach sickness witnessed. But I was super annoyed. This one family had a little girl at the bus stop and she was right in the middle and was coughing uncontrollably. With her mouth literally wide open. They finally brought her aside but then just gave her a Mickey doll and went back into the stop and she continued again. Part of me really wanted to be like look she's upset cause she's sick, not unhappy.. She really needs to go back to the room. But hey not my call so I didn't.

Enjoy your trips everyone! This thread has been very valuable to me so thank you!

Hi, everyone! :)
First Thank you!! to everyone for contributing to this awesome thread. I'm having so much fun reading through it!

I have a few questions (and i apologize if they've already been asked).

We have only been to disney once- Nov. of 2013. We went mid month & it was amazing! Needless to say- we're hooked!! We stayed 5 nights at the Poly (we had a 30% ro discount) & we're able to go at a low season because i was able to pull ds out of school for a few days.

We want to come back soon - but w/ ds's school schedule ( plus he goes to Catholic school & is receiving reconciliation & 1st communion this year) we really can't pull him out. We are very leary of going during the summer because of the heat & humidity...
So, we are really considering booking a trip over Easter break - I know it will be extremly extremly crowded- BUT I really think it's the only time we'd be able to go- unless we wait until next Thanksgiving.

So, I started pricing out resorts that appealed to us & we're really really liking the look of CBR- esp the new rooms!

Can someone explain the difference in rooms- standard / pool view / preferred? Is one type better than the other? Is there a certain one you'd book to up your chances of getting a refurb'd room?

Sorry for this wordy post.... And again thanks to anyone who can help!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

I have a king bed for 1/7-1/14. What do you think the chances are that all of the hotel will be refurbished by then? I requested Martinique or Trinidad North but I see they're the last to be finished. Should I request a different area to get a refurbished room?

Are there butter packets or cream cheese packets at the foodcourt? Or is there cream cheese for sale at grab and go?

Hi, everyone! :)

Sure...preferred are close to the main building and the big swimming pool/food court/restaurant/gift shop. the first page says they are: Martinique it will be buildings 24, 25, 26. In Trinidad North it will be 31,32,33.

pool view, well, they overlook one of the "quiet pools"

and standard are rooms that are not close to the main building and don't have anything special to look at out the window.

by Easter they should be close to finishing the refurb so even preferred should have rooms completed.

60 days at midnight!!! So very excited .... so just a quick question when we originally booked the trip we put in a few room request (adjoining rooms and a request for a playpen) if we do online check-in do we over-ride those requests? Reeeeally want to end up in Jamaica but if I somehow lose my SILs request for a playpen by adding new requests she will be most un-pleased with me LOL!!
