I don't see it listed as scheduled for 2014. Surely not! We are there sept 26-4, and that would suck, my younger DD doesn't swim

ugh great. I convinced DH, SIL, MIL & FIL to upgrade from our value reservation to CBR so DD can play in the kiddie water play area.

I won't move at this point (too scared to loose my FP+) but just hate that I made everyone change plans and spend more money...for nothing.

I really, really hope the refurb is not true for those dates. We switched from the Wilderness to CBR because of their pool refurb!

They were working on building 52 last week. You could see the toilet sitting in the stripped room. Gates were blocking sidewalks, but no guards. Permits in the windows.

Waiting anxiously for our MBs to arrive...and in the meantime: a question:

We've never used the online check in...we always drive down and arrive at the crack of dawn the day (well, 8:00ish) so when we check in there are usually no lines. Just kind of curious - would the online check in be better, worse, the same or some kind of super wonderful?

If you don't have any room requests or really don't care where your room is, you can specify your estimated arrival time during online check in and they will try to have a room ready for you when you get there.

Can someone confirm the buildings that are being renovated by end of Sept? I read Jamaica, but I'm not too sure on any others. Thank you.

The information in post #1 is the most up to date info we have. :thumbsup2

Has anyone heard anything about Fuentes Del Moro being closed in September?

I was on MDE and clicked on the "park schedule" for CBR and it lists Fuentes Del Moro water play area as closed for refurbishment. I only checked for my week, Sept 20-27, but it is listed the same way for the whole week. Can anyone verify this or know the full dates it will be closed?

If this is the case I'm going to be very upset. I was booked at POR but switched to CBR to get the free dining promotion. If they used a promo to fill this resort and are now closing the pool during the promotion dates, that just doesn't sit right with me.

If the main pool is going to be closed I may as well switch to a value and save myself some $.

I haven't seen any news of this but according to the park schedule posted for the resort on the website it looks like it's from Sept 2nd to Sept 26th. If this is true I think there will be a lot of FD folks pretty upset. In addition they didn't announce the closing until after the FD promo ended. I'm going end of October but I feel for any of you in Sept. :(

It says the same thing on my schedule thingy also! I check in Sept 8. I was just measuring my DD last night to make sure she wasn't 48" yet so she could play in the play area. It shows a picture of the whole pool but says play area...grrrrrr.

What would be the best number to call to verify if it's just the kids area that's going to be closed, or the whole pool?

If it's just the kids play area I'll deal with it but if the entire pool and play area are closed I'm going to inquire about switching resorts. This is our first stay at a moderate and a big reason I'm paying the extra money is for the upgraded pool w/ water slide. :(

hope its not closed :( if anyone finds out for sure please let us know here.

I have been told from a very reliable source that the Children's Splash area will be closed for some work from September 2nd -26. They said that the main pool will NOT be affected. It is only the Children's Splash area.

I will second this. It is posted on the CM site that it is the Play area only.

Thank you dansdad and bellebookworm9! I can be okay with the play area being closed as long as the main pool is open. Whew!

I hope hope hope the main pool is open. I picked CBR for the fun pool and have swim breaks scheduled into our plans!! Arriving Aug 30- Sept 7 . Is there a number we can call to get ACCURATE information??

Yup. Not saying it is common or anything. We usually connect through Houston so I just give our flights to and from IAH when I book DME. The only time we got the boarding passes and luggage tags, they were just for out first flight to Houston, nothing connecting us through to our destination airport. Fortunately I noticed and printed our passes/tags at a kiosk at the airport. :)

Wow! Good darn thing you noticed. That would have really bit the big one!

Has anyone ever used the rollaway beds? I'm wondering if they would be more comfortable than the Murphy bed for my 17-year old niece. She's little, about 5' 2", probably 120 lbs, but I'm still not sure she'd be comfortable on the Murphy bed. She does have trouble with her back, so I'm thinking a rollaway might be better? Any thoughts?

I had a friend stay with us for 1 night so we got a rollaway as we had a king, and he didn't say anything about how bad the rollaway was, however I saw that bed and I would be uncomfortable sleeping on it. I think I would much rather sleep on something that pulled down in 1 piece than folded out into two separate spring platforms.

Well--it might work out for me if the Children's Splash area is refurbbing but not the main pool because my DS7 is about 51 inches and would LOVE that dump bucket but if they check height he would be too tall... still hoping it doesnt affect the main pool, and sad for the people with toddlers and younger kids who are just finding out this info now--a few weeks before the trip.

This makes me wonder if any of the king rooms are getting the Murphy beds? I can see that being useful for some situations. ::yes::

Two fairly specific, and odd, resort questions:

1) Does Banana Cabana (the pool bar) have the RFID refillable drinks station, or do I have to go to the Food Court?

2) DD loves small water slides, but usually prefers to go down with someone. Are the slides one at a time, or can you slide together?

I don't know the answer to #2, but as for #1 the refillable stations are only in the food court. The food court doors are only about 25 feet from Banana Cabana though.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for your input. I was thinking more of the size of the bed - since the Murphy bed is fairly small, I'm not sure she would fit comfortably on it. Anyone else have any experience with the rollaways?

If you take your refillable mug to banana cabana they will fill it with the soft drink of your choice.

You cannot go down the slides in twos, the life guards are very observant and stop anyone doing this. I was moved from sitting on the side of the pool (not sure why this isn't allowed!). My children were told they were not allowed to sit on inflatable water toys too.

Thanks for the clarification on the slide. I'll do my best to catch her at the bottom!

So, if you can hand over your refillable mug to the bartender at Banana Cabana, will they charge you for the refill?
