so . . . I decided to go fishing today via the Chat feature on the reservation site. According to Chandler, there WILL be rooms for 5 at CBR when the renovations are complete!! Copied the transcript - pasting here:

Thank you for contacting Disney. Please hold while we route your chat to a Disney Cast Member who will help you with your question.

Welcome to Disney! My name is Chandler. How may I help you today?

you: Hi there Chandler :)

Chandler: Welcome to Disney

you: As I was online today looking at prices for our family of 5, I noticed that CBR came up as on option, which surprised me because the only mod we have been able to stay at in the past was POR with the murphy bed. Are changes coming to CBR that will make rooms for 5 available?

Chandler: Yes, changes are being made to that resort to accommodate 5 just like Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside.

you: Wow! Well that sure is exciting news! Though, I do love POR! :)

Chandler: True but it is nice to have an another option other than deluxe resorts.

you: It certainly is. So will there be pull downs like at POR?

Chandler: Most likely yes, we have not got a ton of info as of yet. Either pull downs or trundle beds.

you: So terrific to hear. Kids are already excited for this year at POR, but I will definitely be looking into CBR for 2015! Do you know when the 2015 pricing will be released?

Chandler: Currently 2015 pricing has not been released as of yet. We have not been informed of when 2015 package pricing will be announced. If anything like last year it may possibly be mid-summer as a guess. However, you can call 407-560-CHAT (2428) and get non-guaranteed 2015 room only pricing 499 day in advance of your resort departure date.

you: Thank you so much!! Any idea when booking for 5 might be available for Caribbean Beach Resort? I may go ahead and book a room only, if I know I will be able to book for my family of 5 :)

Chandler: As of yet I do not. You may want to call 407-560-CHAT (2428) to see if the Disney Reservation Center agents have that information.

you: wonderful. you have been a great help, Chandler! Thank you so much!

Chandler: You're welcome! There is a survey at the end of the chat, I would appreciate your feedback. Thank you for contacting Disney! Have a magical day!

you: Of course, happy to! You have a magical day as well! :)

We are considering going to Universal for a day. Has anyone else here done this before? We won't have a car. It looks like it would cost us $400-500 for the day:confused3.

Any tips, ideas, thoughts or known discounts would greatly be appreciated!!!:worship:

Keeping my fingers crossed that Chandler's info is correct. I know that lots of families of 5 would love it.

Haven't been to Universal but did go to Sea World for the day. We had a car so we drove over. I have had friends take a towncar to Universal and she said that it was more cost effective than a taxi. Would you like for me to send you the link to her trip report so you can read the Universal portion of her report?

(keeping fingers crossed for no hurricanes to delay our arrival.....we are cleaning up from Hurricane Arthur now...killed me I had to wait 2 days for power to order my Magic Bands)

Read this whole thread and Love it!! We are in the middle of a resort mess for our first family trip to WDW in October :sad2::sad2: We've been booked at WL for months, but are jumping ship due to the pool construction mess. The pool pics I've seen from CBR look wonderful. Do you think my DD10 and DD5 will enjoy it? My family loves to swim and DH is so mad about WL that his only request for our new resort is that it have a "cool pool"! Any help is greatly appreciated:flower3:

I haven't been to CBR yet but the pool looks outstanding. Add in the fact that it has a separate area for younger children and I think your kids will both love it.
We've stayed at all the values, most of the mods and several deluxe properties and ds10 like the mod pools/slides the best. Can't wait to try the CBR pool, as long as the December weather cooperates!:goodvibes:santa:

CBR's main pool is great and they have plenty of really nice quiet (and deep ) pools.

You cant go wrong with the CBR pool. Its themed really well has a cool slide (enclosed) and is pretty large. If I remember it also had 2 hot-tubs .

Good luck with your decision !

You were in Building 41? I thought that the refurb in all building 41 rooms had been completed? From the looks of the pictures that were posted, I kinda sorta like the new room decor but I liked the old decor with the bright colors. Like you, I'll hold off on my opinion until we get back to the resort in May, 2015.

Where were the pictures posted of the new rooms? I can't seem to find them. Thank you!

We are thinking about booking preferred room and requesting building 26 but wondered where the closest bus stop is located ?
