The new AKV...If considering, what might change your mind?

Here are items that I may view a dealbreakers:

1) Concierge - If concierge is available then I would want the room catgory to be guaranteed at time of booking.

2) AKL - Assuming it is a no on #1, then I want to be able to guarantee a room in the AKL at time of booking.

3) Guaranteed savannah views - I do not want to book at 11 months to end up with a room looking at the bus stop.

4) # of Savannah view rooms (assuming yes to #3) - Guaranteed savannah view may not even be that big of a deal if there is a large number available. They may be fairly easy to come by at the seven month window.

I am a big fan of the AKL and am looking forward to owning there. But I do need to balance the above issue with cost. I do not think it will be a tough resort to get into at 7 months (tougher then OKW & SSR, but easier then BCV, BWV & VWL).

If point cost and dues are significantly more then other resorts then DVC has there work cut out in selling me an add-on. They will have to convince me that the 11 month window holds considerable value.

The Contemporary DVC.

When that happens, all my AKL money will be spent there!

I wouldn't buy there for the sole reason of the poor location. It has no direct access to anything. Long bus rides to every park except AK. I'l take my chances at 7 months because I belive when the dust settles this will be viewed as the least desirable resort in the on site DVC network.

What could sway me????? Really good sit down poolside food similiar to what Marriott does with REAL offerings like grilled fish sandwiches and the like not just chicken fingers, burgers and hot dogs. The area needs a nice pool bar with a covered area for the tables serving sit down food with waitress/waiter service. The pool would also have to be MUCH better than the existing themed pool at AKL. Probably better than SSR feature pool. Concierge level rooms would be tempting as well.

What (s)he said!

We are planning on an add-on if AKV is connected to the Lodge, but will probably pass if there's no easy way to get there. Isolation = taking our chances at 7 months. Isolation + problems (cost or availability) with savannah views (comparable to the main view at the Lodge) would mean trying AKV once to see what it's all about......then not so much.
