The new ABC family: Freeform?

Why the change because a lot of shows aren't family or because that new show called Shadows/ It is about teens fighting demons/ It could be family if there were angels or make it less like Hunger Games and more like family show like Once upon a time.

They want to expand viewership. Families will probably automatically try a Disney channel, especially with several shows that kids and families already love; however, many people will assume a channel with family in the name only has kids shows and won't visit. The name change might open things up to more viewers. I am sure content will began to change, too. There will always be family and kid oriented material, but more varied fare will begin to appear. It's all a part of attracting viewers.

I understand the reason for the change but I think they could have come up with a better name.
