The Never Ending Pre-Trip Report Nov. 11 and New Year's '12!!! - TR LINK! 1/15 Pg33

Okay friends and readers. I need your help with something. I am having a hard time deciding.

Should I make time in our schedule to go and see Fantasmic!?

Here is why I'm having a hard time deciding. In October, it's only shown on Sunday's and Thursday's. Thursday is out (I haven't posted that itinerary yet, but I don't want to change our plans on that day).

So the only option that I have is on Sunday. It's doable, because all we have is dinner at Boma, so we should be able to make it.

Fantasmic! is not show I typically go out of my way to see, and I think it's been about 5 years since I've gone.

What are your thoughts? Should I take Farrell (first time visitor) to see Fantasmic!, or is us seeing Illuminations and Wishes (for the dessert party) enough?

Let me know what you think!

Hmmm, interesting question. Like you, I don't go out of my way to see F!. I've been there, done that and couldn't care less if I saw it again. However this year I am going with several first-timers and I plan to try to make time for F! because though I don't care to see it, I do think it's worth seeing. Some people think that F! is the best show at WDW and though it's not my cup of tea, I'd hate to think that I was depriving someone who may have loved it.
So yeah. Just my opinion, I'd try to see it if it's possible.

I'll de-lurk to let you know that Dug just saw a blog post on touring plans yesterday that said Fantasmic is now going to be running almost every night through January. If that is the case, should be easier to work it in. For us, it's not a high priority...we're pretty much planning not to go, but if we're around and it's not overly-crowded, we'd consider it. But, for Farrell, it might be worthwhile (if you get good seats). Depends if you've covered everything else in DHS that she wants to do, I guess.

That's what I've been thinking. It's not my cup of tea either, but I'm thinking, what if she really likes it?

I had heard that they were going to do that, I just hadn't seen anything official yet. That's good to know. It might be easier for me to work it in the schedule then. I was even thinking about trying to do the dinner and Fantasmic! option, to get guaranteed seating.

As a first timer I would say try and fit it in to your plans for Farrell :)

Thanks!

Again, we can start with my lovely spreadsheet for the day.

This is our Epcot morning.

Gotta get there early, so we can be sure to beat the rush to....

CIMG3252.jpg

This is one of my absolute favorites and has been since the first time that I rode it in 2003 at Disney's California Adventure.

Then to....

CIMG3547.jpg

And some more favorites.

CIMG3552.jpg

I don't think Farrell gets motion sickness, because I really love the orange side.

We are planning on having this for lunch.

CIMG3305.jpg

Mmmm, gotta love Tangierine Cafe.

Depending on how the morning goes, we may make an afternoon rest stop at the hotel. Then, it will be dinner at....

CIMG3639.jpg

The Biergarten! Where we will be having good food and good beer!

CIMG3638.jpg

Now, let's all remember what happened when the Yeti was here last.

CIMG3644.jpg

Lush.....wonder where he gets it from. :rolleyes1

After that, it will be time to drink around the world! :drinking1

Gonna have to make a stop at the cave...

CIMG3275.jpg

And get some other fun beverages.

I'm really looking forward to trying the drink offerings from the food and wine festival.

This is going to turn out to be an interesting night ya'll! I can feel it in my bones. :dance3:

Here's what we hope to accomplish.

Love the plans for this day and how low the predicted crowds are going to be! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to ride Soarin and TT! I cut Tangierine Cafe from our plans but the pics of your plate is making me want to rethink my decision :confused3

Lol, is yeti coming with you on this trip. If so, I suggest leaving him behind before you go drinking round the world - you never know what he may get up to ;)

You gotta' bring her see Fantasmic! It's a must do for us and we even play the music when we're on long drives. I don't know what it is about that show but we just LOVE it. Especially since she is a first timer - I would definitely make it a point to bring her. Hopefully, they will add more shows. I'm planning to park hop JUST to be able to see it.

Cool update also. Love all the drinks planned for Epcot. I've been having stomach issues lately and will not be able to drink all the cool drinks I've been seeing/reading about. Please drink a fruity drink for me! They're my fav!!!

I know, a lot of our days have pretty low crowd predictions. I'm pretty excited about that.

Tangierine Cafe has become one of my must do's, but I have to say that the Cantina is really good too.

I haven't decided if Yeti is coming along yet. I was thinking about a different mascot perhaps, I just have to weigh out my options. Ha ha.

I'm thinking more and more that we're going to go. However, I may also let her guide me regarding how she's feeling. I want this to be a semi relaxing trip as well.

I'm sorry about the stomach issues. :sad2: I will make sure to drink some tasty drinks in your honor. :drinking1

Sounds like you have nice plans for your EPCOT day! (: Poor Yeti... the beer was too much for him hahaha I think drinking around the world and checking out all those attractions will be great for your friend, something to propel her into the world of EPCOT :D

Oh gosh, this is tough... I say Fantasmic is a must-do, it is an amazing show, I am making sure I see it next time I go, because I'm kicking myself in the back for not seeing it on my last trip. Wishes and IllumiNations is not enough, you have to see all three, Fantasmic is the icing on the cake. :thumbsup2

I luuuuuve Epcot, your plans for that day gave me goosebumps! Soarin' is so awesome. Wish I didn't get motion sick, I'd try the orange team on MS too, but even the green is a bit too much for me (the claustrophobia doesn't help!) I love the Biergarten too, though not for the beer, haha.

I'm all caught up on your PTR!

I really hope to stay at the Beach Club someday!! :cloud9: We usually rent DVC points when we go (ya know, until we can afford to buy :rolleyes1), so that place is definitely on the radar! We stayed one night at AKL and I LOVED it!!! If we stay there again I will not be disappointed!

Great food picks! I really enjoyed 1900 PF dinner (and the characters), but J wasn't too impressed with the price (duh, that's why we use the Dining Plan ;)), but breakfast would be soooo fun! Does it include Alice, Mad Hatter, and who else?

Hmmmm...flying out of Tampa... We did that when I was a teenager, even got to spend a few days at the beach! I'll have to check the prices outta there for out next flight. How much does it cost to park your car at the resorts?

Good luck with the rest of your plans! We haven't seen F!, but I hope to see it someday soon! Can't wait to read more! popcorn::

I love EPCOT and Farrell is very much like me, so I think she'll love it too.

I'm leaning more and more towards going. Wishes is my favorite (it makes me sentimental), but I haven't seen F! either in quite some time.

I'm pretty sure Fantasmic is going to be showing every day in October now!

I heard that too! And you know the funny part? I looked at our schedule and Sunday is the day that works best anyway. Ha. Go figure.

Thanks! Soarin' is definitely my favorite there.

You know, I heard a rumor that when they were testing Mission Space, they tested 100 people (way early in the phase BTW), and that the only 2 that didn't get sick were former astronauts. Could you imagine if they kept it that way?

AKL is one of my favorites too! What I love about BC is the convenience. It just makes things so easy.

Bfast at 1900 PF is normally Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh, and Tigger. I do love the dinner characters though.

This is my first time flying out of Tampa so we'll have to see. The funny part is that it's significantly cheaper for me to return the car to Tampa then renting all the way through Orlando is. How bizarre is that? It actually doesn't cost to park at resorts if you don't valet. You just have to be okay with walking back and forth to the car. The BC lot isn't the most convenient, but I'll have to see when we get there. DVC members used to get free valet, but they took that perk away. Boo. :(

So I'm talking to Farrell today and we're laughing and having a good time. So I mention to her how many photos I have of myself drinking in WDW and how wrong it must appear. And she says to me:

"You know, I don't think I have a picture of you without a drink in your hand, or where you haven't been drinking....."

Know someone for 5 years, and that's all she has of me? What does that say?

:lmao::rotfl::laughing::rolleyes1

Good plans :) My brother has eaten at TC and I've never been interested in it but I do think I need to try it sometime :)

I'd have a hard time deciding about Fantasmic. On the one hand, it is a cool show and with a first timer, it would be nice. On the other hand, you could be using that time to ride ToT or RnRC over and over. I guess either way would be great! :)

This is very true. Riding ToT over and over again doesn't sound like a bad idea. :rotfl:

This is our last full day in the World. :(

Here is our lovely plan for the day.

Picture1-4.png

We are planning on sleeping in our this day. Kind of. We'll just see what happens. It all depends on how many, ahem, libations we consume the night before. :rolleyes1

This will be our DTD day I believe. Unless Farrell wants to go to a park. I doubt that though. :lmao:

Of course we're going to stop here.

mp1.jpg

And no trip would be complete without one of these beauties.

DSCN1200.jpg

Farrell cannot stop talking about eating at EoS, because she's heard so much about it from our friend Amber. But honestly, who doesn't like a hot sandwich? :confused3

After shopping and having a good ol' time, we will be eating our dinner at the Wave. This is a first for me, so I'm pretty excited.

DSCN0064.jpg

Not too thrilling for our last full day at Disney, but I think overall we'll be accomplishing a lot during the week. Plus, there's always the majority of our departure day!
