H all,
I tried to search the forums but couldn't find a link to purchase those neck cooler? Or has anyone bought them at Walmart or the like? I remember reading they have some gel beads in them that keep them cool?

TIA!
Cheryl

49 More days!!!!!!!!!!!

I got them at WalMart in the camping section. I didn't like them. They did keep your neck cool, but my neck got sticky from the gel inside that was kind of leaking out and they were heavy. Maybe I soaked them too long or something, but I thought they were not that good.

I also didn't like them. I didn't think they stayed cool very long; then they were just sort of clammy and heavy.

As happy as I was to find them at Wal-Mart... I think that next time we are just going to take a double ziplock bag and fill with ice cubes and a washcloth. We didn't have trouble with the gel at all... you have to only soak it for 3-5 minutes I think, otherwise the crystals swell too much, but I didn't think that they helped too much, but my DH and DD loved them so what do I know? :teeth:

It's in the camping/sporting section of a Super Walmart. Our smaller Wal Mart
did not have them. I couldn't locate them on Wal Mart internet, either. They are not on a shelf but they hang on hooks by us. They were near the other cooler items like insulated lunch bags and the blue ice, etc. They are a brightly colored bandana; so, you shouldn't miss them. They cost $2.88 each and are called Aqua Cool. For the price, I feel it's worth a shot. My plan is to get ice in the park at times in a large cup and let them soak for a few minutes to get revivied. Also, I will bring ziplock bags of ice to cool them off in an insulated bag for the beginning of the day. When that melts, I'll go with counter service and the extra cup of ice. I will start the day with having them in our room ice bucket.

We will practice with them before we get to Disney. If we don't like them we won't bother with them. It's worth a try.

I think they work well- but for short periods of time. I mean not like ALLLLLLLL day like people are there all day at theme parks? Maybe that's why many are not that pleased with them?
The kids on my daughter's running team (and the coaches) SWEAR by these things during practices and during races- but they aren't all day races/practices... they are for a few hours tops. KWIM?
