The Mummy Ride - Still Scared!

Okay....I've been to Universal over 10+ times since the early 1990's as a kid....when King Kong was around (lol I was scared to go on that too) and I still...STILL can't go on the Mummy. :(

I'm terrified of roller coasters and heights! I've been on FJ and Spiderman and last year, I finally went on the Jurassic Park ride. That drop was crazy long but I did it! :faint: They put me in front row and everything!

I also went on the Hippogriff ride at IOA and had a fit at the top haha but went on at least 3 times last year - even tho I was terrified.:scared1:

Should I try to go on the Mummy next week when I'm there on vacation?

I mean, I should try to since I'm a huge HP fan and then new ride at DA will be similar to the Mummy. I already read the ride details and it seems less intense with elevation/track changes than the Mummy.

Maybe, I shouldn't then haha I NEED MOTIVATION!

try it at least once.If you hate , you never have to ride it again..That said I love it.It is my favorite ride at the Studios.

(takes deep breathe)...

I will TRY. It may take me till the last day but I will TRY haha

It's more like a kiddie ride in terms of the coaster itself - it's the darkness and effects which make it seem scary. It's REALLY not bad.

What days are you going to be there?

The ride is great. Nothing upside down or anything like that (though I personally don't mind a plain loop). The effects, however, are intense.

I actually find Hippogriff to be a lot more jerky and rough than the Mummy. Because it is dark in there, you really have no concept of height at all.

I would so go for it. I am not a fan of coasters at all and I used to avoid all of them but now I will ride ones that are in the dark. The indoor ones do not have the big steep climbs and drops like outdoor ones. For me I also think it is better in the dark so you can not see everything coming. I was just at universal a couple weeks ago and rode the Mummy. It is not bad at all. I actually liked it. Nothing upside down and no huge drops. It is also a pretty smooth ride.

The perfect attitude! :thumbsup2

DW is very glad she rode it at least once- it's that impressive.

Besides, we only live once, right ?! Unless you're a Mummy, I guess....;)

Yes! Okay! I'll report back once I go on! Wish me luck! :cheer2:

Just too fast for me. I closed my eyes and saw nothing. It didn't help that a lady behind me screamed through the whole thing. :lmao:

If there's one way to make a ride FEEL faster, it's to close your eyes!

Just too fast for me.

That`s the best bit........when it goes fast :thumbsup2

We always ride it loads of times every day we`re there, and find in the afternoon it feels faster than in the morning.........don`t know if we imagined it or not but we all felt it.

It`s an amazing ride, well worth doing :thumbsup2
