The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

I think that's usually a green screen.

Kinda busy, but just doing stuff around the house. I checked-in on the DIS a few times and yes, it seemed like there wasn't a lot of activity.

Yes, but the television station I worked at in Klamath Falls, OR had a blue screen. Technically, it can be any color, you just have to set up the chroma-key to match it. Cool huh? :woohoo:

Sounds like you just sentenced yourself to an hour+ in the pit! (Make it through the waiting part, and you're home free. You'll forget the crowd once the show starts.)
You're probably right! And to think I've done that little hand "wavy" thing for years out the car window just to prepare myself for that moment! :lmao:

This seems to be the most quotable installment of last year's TR... zero-gravity, Wishmeister and Marvin. :goodvibes
Okay Magdalene, not quite sure how to take being lumped in that particular grouping... but I'm sure you meant it in the "nicest" of ways (although I guess that still leaves a lot of wiggle room)

I DIS while everyone else watches Star Wars, so don't really know squat about the characters. But I do know enough to say that they did a whiz bang job on Queen Amadala (or however you spell her name). I'm impressed. That other chick has a bigger head than every Rap Star out there.

You are correct! (of course you knew that already.) Did you ever get to play in front of the blue screen? I'm thinking of the "Whose Line Is It Anyway" segment where they had to guess what was being shown behind them. It was usually a pit of snakes or somsething equally gross.

I know! I was thinking the same thing when I put in the link. I had no idea it would be the most-referenced chapter of the TR.

You will laugh at the jedi master's jokes! (hand wavy thing accompanies "will")

She's just noting that I've linked to that chapter several times lately. The most recent (before the Wishmeister reference) being on jenbear's thread when I showed that you and I were once in the same place at the same time (and a black hole did not form as predicted).

Oh you should give the movies a chance sometime. Yes, Amidala was impressive. Much better than the one my kids got their picture taken with back in '05. I thought that most of the characters looked really good.

You must be talking about the woman with the big white head with blue streaks on it? It was big. And she did a good job looking mean.

I have watched most of them, in bits and pieces, but parts of it, are just icky. Like when Aniken gets melted in the lava. EWW!!! But I do like that catchy little bar tune, and I love Yoda!! I just want to squeeze the livin' pudding out of that litte troll. Except he'd probably levitate me, or bash me over the head with his stick.

Obi-wan warned him....

Not to mention that Frank Oz would probably say, "lady, could you please let go of my arm!"

Hey Glenn!

Yes, I am horribly behind. :rolleyes1 But, I took a look at your last installment. I'm way out of the Disney loop these days. I hadn't heard of Hyperspace Hoopla. Looks way cool! :thumbsup2

Whoa! So many posts after that last update! Hahaha! You are very popular glennbo123.

And great update by the way... although I wouldn't be near this show until they fix the way they control the crowds or they move it to a more adequate place... I'm terribly afraid of the crowds :scared1:

Also it seems the rest of the park would be empty while the show is on :rotfl:

I find it really hard to hug a CGI character as well.

During the Summer Spectacular Disney sets up a stage near the hat that attracts a fair crowd a bit later. Hyperspace Hoopla had a crowd of a few hundred at most while a few thousand were still wandering the rest of it.

:wave2: Hi Carissa! Thanks for dropping by. Hyperspace Hoopla was a lot of fun. I'll wander over to your TR in a minute or so.

Aw shucks. I don't know about that.

Okay, I just looked up the "fear of crowds" phobia...apparently, it's "Enochlophobia". But you're pretty tall, right? You'd have been fine.

Oh, I think there are still plenty of people in the park while this show is on.

Yes, it's just such a small venue that they hold Hoopla at. I hadn't thought of them doing it at the hat. That might be the best place.

I used to give tours to school students. I put them in front of the blue screen and showed them what it looked like with something behind them. Sometimes I would put a weather map behind them. Other times I would put the television show that was on the air behind them. Once I put the footage of two cars going slow motion in a head on collision. The kids liked it. It helped create a little magic. :wizard:

I could say that I meant to say that this must be the most memorable part of Genn's trip due to the three things mentioned, but...

She's just noting that I've linked to that chapter several times lately. The most recent (before the Wishmeister reference) being on jenbear's thread when I showed that you and I were once in the same place at the same time (and a black hole did not form as predicted).

... it was much more harmless and less witty and is just as Glenn pointed out. The first time he linked it was when he made a comment about a zero-gravity-pool and I had this image in my head that he was talking about a huge drop of water floating around in space. :goodvibes

Most people would get that vision, but actually it is a pool of water where you jump in off the side, but never hit the water!!! :rolleyes1

I'm sure you were a great tour guide! They must have loved that.

Now if Marvin had worn a had like the Wishmeisters, I guarantee that meeting him would have been the most memorable part.

That would be quite an unusual pool.

I think I like the old-fashioned way (ie. with gravity) better.

I actually DID the first couple days we were both there, hoping it would draw attention so you would be able to spot me, but I had given up on that plan by the time you were finally successful stalking me.;)

If you had been sitting closer to me during the BLT presentation, you would have heard me whisper to DW "That clown stole my HAD!!!" Of course, you would have also heard her say........"GOOT!" :lmao:

That's because you typically go to Disney in the heat of the summer. :scared: When I get there in December, there is at least a slight possibility I may be hoping for the "zero-gravity" version.... :rotfl2:

BTW, I posted some interesting news for you in my PTR! Might want to check it out when you get the chance....

I recall that I was looking for flags and Mickey heads and all kinds of things at the pool, but they never materialized.

What is that, Pennsylvania Dutch language? Goot?

Man, you'll do anything to get readers won't you? Okay, okay.

Chroma Key rocks! There is so much you can do with it.
Say for example, you have 1200’ish photos and 40 some odd minutes of video clips from your Disney World trip. You then decide you want to have them all combined into one video. So after combining it all and laying down some music tracks under it, you realize that what you could REALLY use was some type of narration. Titles are too distracting and a voice over is just a bit too cheesy. So you decide that the best option would be a host to guide the viewers through the show. If you then grabbed 4 yards of green fabric from Hancock, three shop lights & CFL bulbs from Home Depot, and checked out a wireless mic and camera from your house of worship, you could drape the cloth over the fridge, clamp the lights in the kitchen to create a 3 point lighting system, back the camera up into the office and video yourself through the door as you introduced each segment of the video.

Then with the power of Chroma Key, you can take this:

And turn it into this:.

And then your sister will call a nerd to the N’th degree. (Whatever that means.) But you won’t care. Because you know that your vacation video is the bomb diggity.
