One of my favourites last night. Needed the Kleenex handy! Relived our Son going off to College. Difference was we were not 45 Mins. away. So we went from sending an adolescent off on his own to college, to young man to his job after Graduation even farther away (then college).

He has been in his chosen career for 18 yrs now, married for 9 yrs, and a father of our 2 DGs. They now live 30 Mins. from Gram & Pa.

So kleenex was at hand for me in that it all came back.

Also went on last night to enjoy Come Back? & Modern Family!

We are huge Middle fans here. But having just send my first one off to college 3 1/2 hours away last month...... I almost passed on watching. It was fine. I almost started crying when Axl zoomed out leaving Frankie without a decent goodbye....... but my 13 year old looked right at me with a proper 13 year old eye roll and said "You're not going to cry, are you?" :rotfl:

I'll be curious to see if the feel of the show changes with Axl away at school...... even if it is only 45 minutes away! Or maybe he'll flunk out? Hmmmmm.........

Love The Middle. Axl reminds me so much of my nephew who is a senior in HS this year. And have to say I really appreciate that it's "clean". Which is more than I can say for the rest of the night. Did not care for the baseball show.

This is just about my favorite show. I really enjoyed last night and laughed so much when Alex showed up back home before the family even got there and was eating them out of house and home LOL

I watched it, loved it. We are outside Chicago and our first went to school 1000 away in Sarasota..flight home was brutal. I'm surprised the planes flotation devices didn't deploy from all the tears from DH, DS and I. Like the OP, her job is even further, San Francisco! DS on the otherhand, attends Community College , that in traffic, is further than Axl, lol. We have 3 great 4 year schools all within an hour, but DS has plans for out west like his sister...sigh.
We love The Middle tho! Anyone else notice that Frankie (Patricia Heaton) has had a little more work done? Her teeth and mouth were way different...I know the hairstyle was longer, but for sure she had more tweaking done.

Loved the middle and last nights episode. I thought Patricia Heaton looked thinner and tanner and had a longer wig. Didn't think perhaps it was more work.

I like Eden Sher as "Sue". She pulls off the "giddy teenager" act perfectly. :)

I watched it last night and thought about my familys road trip from Arkansas to North Carolina for college. I felt like Axl, I just wanted to get there and my parents had other plans making many stops along the way.

I did better than I thought with last nights episode. My DS just started college this year.

I to am waiting to see how the show handles Axel being in college. For me he makes the show:rotfl2:

I LOVE this show.....Axl is my older ds..and my younger ds is just like Sue(personality)....how do they get it so right?

You would have really disliked the pilots of The Goldbergs, and two others the Dads, Trophy Wife, the night before. I probably will not tune in again. Other pps thought The Goldbergs was great a throw back to their 80's experience.

Those 3 made me cringe! I will watch Back in the game once more b/c it may have some merit.

I love this show too but I hadn't watched it in a long time. What happened to that girlfriend that Axel had in his senior year of high school?

TC :cool1:

They broke up at prom. She hinted that she wasn't planning on a serious relationship with Axl if I remember correctly. And so he basically said fine then lets just end it now.

She absolutely looked like she had face work done....DD and I both noticed it right away. Thought she looked fine before!

We saw her earlier this month on Hollywood Game Night and I thought she looked different.
I sure am glad I did not watch this show last night, my dd is in her senior year in high school, and every little thing sets me off

Love The Middle! Sue Heck.. oh how I love Sue Heck! Axl goes to college.. so funny. The scene in Bed Bath and Beyond reminded me so much of taking Jake to college. LOL!!

That's exactly the way it was during my DD's senior year! I joke that I cried all through it - and I did at all the "moments".

She's a sophomore in college now and also 45 min away. The goodbye w/Axl reminded me of DD. She was invited out w/her roomies so it was a very quick goodbye. I still cried even though it's been 2 years now.:blush:

I did notice Patricia Heaton looked different but didn't think of work. James Caan definitely had lots of work done in Back in the Game! We will watch again but it was definitely up & down for us. Hoping to catch the Goldbergs next week, I'm an 80s kid.

That's Sue Sue Heck don't you know. ;)

And I was dying during that BBB scene. That was totally me a couple months ago, right down to the shower caddy.:)
