The Melting Pot

My family loves this place. We love to go for the whole meal or just do cheese and chocolate. We are going tomorrow night to do chocolate and look at the Plaza Christmas Lights.

I love The Melting Pot. When the one closest to us closed, Santa brought me an electric Cuisinart fondue pot. The next Christmas, Santa brought me another so I could have cheese and chocolate for the same meal without washing the pot in between. I like my Cuisinart fondue pots because they can be cleaned in the dishwasher. They cost about $30-40. :santa:

We love it too. Around here our local tv stations have 1/2 price gift certificates for MP a couple times a year, so when they have it I buy a $50 cert for $25. Both times we have gone we took my girls. Now this may not be true for all children, but with my children we just got the big night out for us and they ate off the food we got, this was plenty of food for all 4 of us. The second time we were starved so we got one child's plate at the entree course, but honestly, we couldn't finish it all. The cheese course comes with bread, apples, veggies, etc so is pretty filling, dh and I eat had different salads which the girls ate a few bites of, and then the entree course has some ravioli and mushroom caps and potatoes, etc as well, besides the meat. I like the meat, but really if I have one bite of each, that is plenty, the tray has 4-6 peices of each thing usually, then I mostly eat the mushroom caps and potatoes, etc. I agree, the chocolate is SO good, and they have a lot of different chocolate choices. Both times we went we chose a flambeed one, the kids get a kick out of seeing them light it.

I can't wait to go here for New Years Eve with darling fiance. We usually don't go fancy so this will be a big change for us!!!

I LOVE the Melting Pot-- the Mexican cheese is the best. The s'more chocolate is also amazing! I'm not too partial to the meats-- I'd rather save room for my favorite cheese, chocolate, and salad (one of the best Caesar's I've ever had!)

I went with friends before, and although it was fun, it took a long time, and was way too much food (did the fixed price app, entree, dessert option). Cooking the meat was just a prelude to the chocolate anyway! LOL!!

Next time I'm just doing appetizers and desserts!!!!
