Has anyone heard lately what the rebooking offer is onboard? I am looking at the repos. Are they still covering tips?

Just found this link a while ago. It may take days to read it all. I'm looking at Swiss Air from Chicago to Zurich on to Barcelona. With tax it's 1050, rt. I guess I'll book one of the hotels Disney is suggestingn for Barcelona. It would be nice if we can get a few hour lay over in Zurich, since we haven't been there in about 25 years. But we won't have time to do any places on the way back. I also saw that Air France had a fairly reasonable fare through Paris. Has anyone else looked into Swiss Air? (I'm not sure that's their name anymore. I think it changed to just Swiss, or something like that.)

We are flying back to Chicago on SwissAir. The first leg to Zurich is Swiss Air, but the second leg is United, operated by Swiss Air. Our flight to Barcelona is on United to Germany and then Air China operated by Luftansa to Barcelona.

What time is the flight back from Barcelona? I'm not sure how far the ship is from the airport and what time we can get off the ship.

Our flight is at 9:40 in the morning, but we are not leaving the day the ship arrives. We are spending a couple days in Barcelona.

Coming and going from Chicago, I found a very good fare on American a couple weeks ago. Didn't see what cruise you were on; we're on the May 28 11-night and coming a day early, leaving the day after the ship returns. Our fares were about $680 per person: Chicago to Frankfurt on AA, then Frankfurt to Barcelona via Iberia.

Hello fellow Chicagoans! Just a repeat of what I posted pages back: I booked 6 of us on LOT-Polish Airlines from Chicago-Warsaw-Barcelona $825 including taxes one-way in BUSINESS CLASS. Worth a look as it's cheaper than the coach fares y'all are quoting from Chicago.

Only way to get this fare is to book 2 or more people (it's a companion fare offer) by searching Kayak.com and the using the Orbitz.com link that comes up with the fare. FYI, there may be an October 30, 2006 deadline for this fare deal which is good on flights through 10/07.

Hope this helps someone! :goodvibes

Is there any time we shouldn't book a return flight before? I see it says disembark at 6:30, but how long does it actually take to get off the ship, get bags, etc, and get to the airport?

I have read that you should book your return flight from 10:30 am on. We have an 11:10 am flight home. I won't worry too much about getting home on time, but I definitely want to get on that ship before sailing. :teeth:

Remember you are not getting off at Port C, but in the middle of a very large city on a weekday just before its rush hour, with proberly many cruise ships all docking at the same time.

It will mean big pressure on Taxi's etc, and then slow traffic through rush hour, so be careful!

What are weekends like around that area? Since I'm on the 10 day cruise, we get off on a Saturday. I'm assuming we wouldn't have the same issues as if we were getting off during the week.

Hello all,
have spent the last 40 minutes going through the thred and trying to find the post that lists the 'hotels ' that DCL transport will pick up/drop off to in Barcelona.
Can anyone help?

Here ya go Ruth - on this board/thread it was actually only a link to the following thread on the regular cruise board: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1086623

Assume that the 6.30 quoted is the time that the Magic arrives back in Barcelona not the time for leaving the ship. All ashore time - does anyone know what this is to be yet.

I heard we should not book our return flight before 10:30 am ... Hopel this helps!

For those Med travelers leaving Barcelona on Aug 18th and who need to go to the NYM region. the Continental flight leaving at 11:10am on Sat Aug 18th seems to be filling up fast. It is a nonstop flight from BCN into Newark, NJ. Just an FYI.

Also, I checked with my TA and guest services too. An 11:10 departure time is fine considering the ship docks back in BCN so early in the morning.

I'm actually looking at at 10:30 flight right now on Air France. How long does it really take to get off the ship to the airport? What have peoples' experience been before on cruises from Barcelona?

Pyramid: I just recently found this thread, but I think I have an answer to your question. We just recently went on the 11 night Caribbean cruise. We rebooked our 10 night Med Cruise and received a $250 on board credit.

As an aside, has anyone found any good deals on airfare from San Francisco area? And can I get some in put as to hotels in Barcelona.

Leslye

Leslye, Did you also receive 10 percent off? And there was some mention on another thread about gratuities . . . Anyone know anything about this?

If you rebook onboard, you will save 10% and depending on your room category that you book, you will either get a $200 or $250 OBC. Plus you will get prepaid gratuities.
