yet another great installment! Thank you for helping me get into the spirit for my trip! Our first trip is in just 11 days!!!!!! :woohoo:

Twingle, that is bad. :rotfl:

I am really missing Disney today. This time last year, we were there! And Conor is turning 7 tomorrow -- and wanted to have his birthday dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe again, like last year. :( I sooo wish we could! If I had 2 free air vouchers ... oh wait, I do! But they're earmarked for the adults-only trip this fall.

I'm so mean.

Somehow, the Disney magic erases fatigue and replenishes our supply of smiles and laughter. It takes all the stresses and aggravations of everyday life and collects them into a magic bubble, then gently blows the bubble far, far away. This leaves plenty of room for the extra wide smiles, big belly laughs and general sense of contentedness that come from being together as a family, without a care in the world.

I love this. And it's so true.

Seeing my precious little boy out there with the rest of the cast, shaking a noisemaker and joyfully doing his best to keep up with the singing and dancing – I have a Magical Memory certificate of my own for that one, burned into my brain forever. It was the confluence of all that makes Disney, Disney. Streams of happy, happy tears were flowing down my face. He was so excited. After being bored nearly to death on the safari, he was now in his element.

This brought the biggest smile to my face. I can just see him standing there grinning from ear to ear and I'm crying happy tears for your little man too.

Still lovin' your trip report. You go Miss Fine in 89! :thumbsup2

Jumping from the lurkdom ship to give you props! I love reading your report it makes me feel like I'm there. There is nothing like a great trip report to get you in that Disney Spirit! Can't wait to read more! The longer the better, lol, it gets me closer to my trip after Labor Day :)

PS. Don't worry GeorgiaAristocat time will pass fast!

I think it was just a matter of expectations not matching reality. His mental picture of Disney didn’t include this whole animal theme park thing. He actually asked me “How long has this safari been?” and “How long is this going to take?” Seriously? I birthed this child?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Your Conor and my Carson are so similar! Carson too was bored of AK, and all things animal. He too loves all things mechanical. Inventing, building he is all over it. But there is hope two weeks after his seventh birthday, he jumped on one of our ponies for the first time and is hooked. See the pic in my siggie! So there is hope! Sky is like Piper, animals rule the planet!
Speaking of poaching, I just want to throw in a quick little aside. Conor may be bored with some of the most beautiful and exotic creatures on the planet, but he has an extraordinary memory, and a knack for picking up new vocabulary. We had to explain to the kids what a “poacher” was, thanks to Disney’s Kilimanjaro Safari, and tried to do so in truthful but non-graphic terms. (NON graphic. I’m learning. “What?!?” did not need to be part of this picture on our happy vacation.) So fast forward to nearly a year after this trip. I’ve recently gotten into an egg kick, and one day I asked the kids if they’d like a poached egg for breakfast. Conor replies without missing a beat, “No, thanks, Mummy. I don’t like eggs that have been stolen in the night.”
I love this! I am telling you he is one smart boy!!! and he knows all the presidents? MENSA, MENSA, I say!
Kim, not sure how I missed this? I was coming to lecture you about only 10 parts in 6 weeks like someone did on my thread, but then I realized I miss this. So you are not getting any reprimanding from me! :teeth:

Thank you for the pix! You are an adorable little family and I cannot wait to meet you and your babies! GCAT and I talk about being mirror twins despite our political views on opposite ends of the spectrum. Maitai just say, I see you in the mirror?!

Maelstrom baby, and I left you a message in an edit over on that new maelstrom thread! :rotfl2:

Welcome, nasus and MagicMe and summersfam4 and luciloo and jrasmom.  CherokeeMama, I'm glad you're sticking with me!

Hi Maelstrom buddies ... I love it when you pop by. Horsey, you are not the first person to suggest taking my children. My babysitter just fessed up that when she was watching Syd as an infant, she used to just hold her and watch her sleep and think how much she'd like to just take her home. Now that she's 18 and lives with us and KNOWS how much work kiddos are, I don't think there's a chance she'd try it! :lmao:

Ash, are you sure you cried? Or was it just a raindrop falling? :) I sent the kids out to play today in their puddle boots and raincoats because even THEY are sick of being inside.

Kim - You are such a good writer!! I really hope you do something with your talent!! Your kids are so wonderful! I really enjoy your story! Thanks for sharing your memories!

Subscribing - great report! Can't wait for more.
