We are new at this so bear with us. We have never run at a Disney event but we are running in our first 5K at Disney during the Marathon weekend and we have a few questions.

Can our son watch the race?

Can he walk to the finish line from where the buses drop us off?

Does your time start with your chip time or the race start time?

Will there be people at the Expo to ask additional questions?

This will be a new experience for us and we are excited but we are also very green rookies to these type of races. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please and thank you.

First, congrats on your soon to be first Disney Endurance event finish!
Can our son watch the race?

Yes, well the start and the finish. He start line is in the parking lot near the finish line area and the finish is the marathon finish line, usually. So for those two spots he can see you go away then be there to cheer you on at the finish line. Note he will not have park access to see you on course.

Can he walk to the finish line from where the buses drop us off?

Yes, it’s all in the same general area of the parking lot. I would assume he would go to the race with you.

Does your time start with your chip time or the race start time?

Actually, there is no chip time for the 5k as it is classified as a non-competitive fun run. Make sure to have a watch with a chronograph (stop watch) feature and make sure to hit start as you cross the start line and stop as you cross the finish line.

Will there be people at the Expo to ask additional questions?

Sure. You will receive an email, or at least read chatter in the next 2-3 weeks about race waivers being up. Make sure to print them for each runner and bring them to the expo. You will also need you ID for packet pick up. Make sure to bring cash, card or room key for purchasing souvenirs while at the expo. There will be folks at the expo to assist. The first time through the expo experience can be interesting. Just follow the corwd, read the signs or ask questions. There is a runner’s relations desk at the expo for additional questions.
