Looking at a map of AKL it looks as if you need to use an external walkway to get to this CS restaurant...is there also internal access?

No. It's downstairs and on the pathway that loops the pool. I believe there are lower hallways that have doors out towards the pool area. It's the only way you can reach it. But it's a covered pathway.

There's an exit to the pool area from the main hotel that you can also use to access the Mara, also on the covered walkway. It's very convenient to the pool, and also has a few outside tables if you'd like to dine outside.

To my knowledge, it only includes the pool area - swiming pool, hot tub, kiddie pool - the pathway shouldn't be closed as its about a good 10-20 ft from the pool itself.
